What a pleasant surprise. This small boutique hotel checked all of our boxes. Comfortable room, nice breakfast, helpful staff and to top it all off the owner spoke very good English. It is located not too deep into the alleys of the ancient town, so it is easy to walk out to the main road. The ambiance was perfect with the quiet courtyard and the breakfast/tea house providing a nice respite from the crowds and busyness of the ancient town. We would definitely book again if we were to be in Lijiang.

Tiene seis habitaciones en total; nos alojamos en una sección separada en la segunda planta, lo que nos garantizó una excelente privacidad. La habitación estaba totalmente equipada e impecablemente limpia, ¡lo que hizo que la estancia fuera muy cómoda! Lijiang invita a relajarse, a pasar tiempo con la familia paseando por el casco antiguo, tomando té y charlando con el dueño. Aunque mi estancia fue corta, me dejó una huella imborrable, y espero volver a Lijiang y a Fuliu Inn.

Una de las mayores ventajas de este lugar es la amabilidad del personal. Aunque no era posible comunicarse en inglés, pudimos comunicarnos sin problemas a través de WeChat. Incluso nos ayudaron a empacar pan, leche y fruta antes de nuestra excursión matutina y nos ayudaron a pedir comida a domicilio. Siempre que teníamos preguntas sobre Lijiang, las respondían rápidamente por WeChat. El desayuno también estaba delicioso. Sin embargo, incluso para estos huéspedes, si les asignan una habitación en una planta baja y salen por la puerta contigua del casco antiguo de Lijiang para tomar un taxi hacia el sur, donde hay mucho que ver, no debería haber problema. Dejando de lado estos inconvenientes, este alojamiento merece una alta puntuación por su personal amable, su precio razonable, su delicioso desayuno y, sobre todo, por las vistas nocturnas. Además, si vienen, no dejen de probar las naranjas del vestíbulo. Fueron las mejores naranjas que he probado en mi vida.

Estabamos en Lijiang por unos días y esta era nuestra estadía por toda la duración, directamente en el centro de Oldtown en la ubicación perfecta. This was my second stay at a Banyan Tree property, and once again, it turned out to be a truly memorable and pleasant experience. Frank, our personal concierge, was exceptionally responsive and attentive throughout our stay. He was always quick to assist with our requests and even replied to messages after regular working hours. There was a minor housekeeping incident during our stay, but Frank handled the service recovery professionally and resolved the matter promptly. The thoughtful gesture of providing gifts and a cake was greatly appreciated, and my child absolutely loved the surprise. From start to finish, we felt genuinely well taken care of. Frank’s service was highly commendable, and he is definitely a valuable asset to the Banyan Tree Group. Our dinner experience at Baiyun was also superb. The ambience was wonderful, and the food was excellent. We also enjoyed the complimentary photoshoot session, which became one of the most memorable highlights of our trip. Our photographer was incredibly professional and patient, guiding us throughout the session and capturing many beautiful photos. In the end, I decided to purchase a photo package because the photos turned out so well and were truly worth it. The staff there were also warm, friendly, efficient, and highly responsive. There are, however, a few areas that could be improved: 1. The menu and operating schedule for Mingyue were somewhat confusing. We had planned to have dinner there one evening, only to realize that Chinese cuisine was not served on certain days and during certain hours, which required us to make alternative arrangements. 2. The soundproofing in the room could be improved, as we were able to hear our neighboring guests quite clearly even when they were speaking at normal volume. 3. The water temperature in the shower was inconsistent. Although we adjusted it to a comfortable level, the temperature would occasionally drop suddenly and become very cold. 4. Staff could perhaps be slightly more observant and proactive. On our first day, it was raining when we arrived at the room via buggy. There was no sheltered area where we alighted, so we had to stand briefly in the rain while moving our luggage. 5. The fruit platter in the room could be fresher. The apples and oranges did not seem as fresh compared to what we experienced at other hotels in Dali and Kunming. 6. Breakfast options could be expanded further. I was also hoping to find more fresh and exotic detox juices, especially ones prepared on the spot. (Similar to Bintan Banyan Tree) Despite these minor issues, our overall stay was still excellent. The scenery and views within the resort were absolutely stunning, and we especially enjoyed being able to feed the ducks and fishes. It created a very relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere for the family. II recently stayed at the Guanxin Art Hotel in Shuhe Old Town, and it was an absolute delight from start to finish. Tucked away in a serene corner of this charming ancient town, the hotel’s artistic design immediately captivated me—think intricate local motifs blended with modern whimsy in every corner, from the lobby’s handcrafted murals to the thoughtfully curated room accents. It’s the kind of place that feels like stepping into a living gallery. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a warming welcome tea set that set a perfectly relaxed tone after our journey. And the turndown service? A cozy surprise of warmed white fungus dessert that was both indulgent and surprisingly soothing—such a unique touch that made evenings feel special. Breakfast was a highlight, served with fresh, flavorful local ingredients and Western options that catered to every craving. Everything was excellent, from the fluffy pancakes to the vibrant fruit platters, all enjoyed in a sunlit courtyard that amplified the magic. The rooms themselves were a sanctuary: lovely, plush bedding that promised (and delivered) the deepest sleep, wrapped in an ambiance that’s equal parts elegant and inviting. What truly elevated the stay was the staff—they’re a warm, efficient bunch who went above and beyond. One team member even insisted on carrying my ridiculously heavy bags up the stairs without a second thought, all with a genuine smile. And let’s talk about the hotel’s superstar resident: a massive, fluffy husky dog who’s as photogenic as he is well-behaved. He lounged gracefully by the entrance, offering tail-wags on demand but never intrusive—pure joy! One minor note: the hotel is nestled a bit deeper into the old town, so we walked about 15-20 minutes from the pickup point. But honestly, it was a lovely stroll through lantern-lit alleys, past street vendors and hidden courtyards—part of the adventure that made arriving feel earned. If you’re seeking a boutique escape that’s artistic, attentive, and utterly memorable, Guanxin Art Hotel is it. El anfitrión fue súper atento. Me llamó antes de que saliera para Lijiang para preguntar mi hora de llegada. Cuando el taxi llegó cerca del B&B, salió a ayudarme con el equipaje. Cuando llegué al B&B, me ofreció té y pastel de flor. El ambiente es excelente. Limpio y tranquilo. Las instalaciones son completas, y desde la ventana se puede ver la puesta de sol dorada sobre las montañas del casco antiguo. Está muy cerca del casco antiguo, ¡súper conveniente! ¡Me encantó la estancia! La próxima vez, sin duda, volveré. 😋😋

Esta estancia superó todas mis expectativas. La decoración del hotel era sencilla pero elegante, y el vestíbulo, limpio y refinado. Alquilamos un coche y el aparcamiento del hotel era muy práctico. Además, está muy cerca del casco antiguo, lo que facilita moverse y explorar los alrededores. Quizás por ser temporada baja, los recepcionistas nos dieron una habitación superior, lo cual fue una grata sorpresa. La habitación estaba impecable y la vista desde el balcón era espectacular. El hotel también tiene mascotas adorables y muy amigables. Sin duda, volvería a alojarme aquí la próxima vez que visite Lijiang.

The best hotel we stayed at during our entire trip to Yunnan. We got a free upgrade from the owner, and the benefits that come with the room were aplenty (afternoon tea, great breakfast set, a tea-making session etc). The owner also helps us buy a nice, affordable day tour to Dali, which we enjoyed tremendously. The hotel itself is new and spacious, and our room has the view of a peaceful small river. The surrounding area is serene and quiet, with a handful of quaint cafes, restaurants and bars. It feels like a complete contrast of the other commercial side of Lijiang. Overall, we loved the stay. Will definitely recommend this our friends.

También fue muy amable, explicándonos la ruta al casco antiguo, ayudándonos a enviar paquetes y prestándonos chales para las fotos. Nos sentimos como en casa. La habitación era dúplex, y desde la ventana del segundo piso pudimos fotografiar la Montaña Nevada del Dragón de Jade. El casco antiguo estaba justo al lado, lo que facilitaba mucho comer y comprar.
