We enjoyed our stay here, so when we returned from Shangri-la to Lijiang, we made a repeat booking at this place. The cleanliness of the place and the friendliness of the staff were the main reasons for our return. Location: This place is situated near the border of the Lijiang Ancient City. It is close to the main road (2 min walk) which makes it easy to meet your driver for airport transfer or any tour you join. It is also extremely convenient to get to the main attractions such as Mu Residence (5 min) and Zhongyi Night Market (6-8 min). You will be away from the hustle and bustle at night, and get some peace and quiet. Room: We were lucky that we got a room on the ground floor, as we had very heavy luggage. It would be very difficult to pull them up the stairs if we were on the upper floor. Every room has a different name, and shows that the owners put some thought into giving each of their guests a unique experience. The room we got was of moderate size, with a small sofa area for you to enjoy tea and snacks. There was also a kettle and four cups, and a 5-litre water dispenser that dispensed hot and cold water - I appreciated this, which was more environmentally friendly and generous than other accommodation which gave us 2 bottles of water (500ml each) each every day. The room was also equipped with heating, for the room and the floor, and they were controlled by the front desk. There was also a humidifier. The room's interior decoration was warm and cozy. Outdoor: We also enjoyed sitting outdoors, idling, gazing at the fish, watching the flowers bloom, while enjoying many cups of tea. Toilet: It was of decent size, with a shower cubicle that dispensed hot water pretty quickly. They provided us with everything so there's nothing you need to bring: shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, toothbrush, toothpaste, slippers, slippers for shower, towels for body and hair, one-time face towels, hair dryer, body lotion, soap, detergent. Service: The staff was hospitable, friendly, and the service was impeccable. We enjoyed chatting with them over many cups of tea, and rose pastries. They even recommended travel routes and restaurants to us, which were very good, and we even got discounts or freebies by telling the restaurants where we were staying. It was easy to communicate with the staff on WeChat, they responded promptly, and arranged free airport transfer for us as we stayed more than three nights. Food: Breakfast was served every morning, which included a bowl of Yunnan mixian (noodles), a steamed bun, a hard-boiled egg, corn, and some spicy preserved vegetables. Every booking came with one serving of afternoon tea, which included rose pastries and a variety of fruits. We arrived after midnight and the staff prepared some rose pastries and fruit for us, in case we would be hungry, which was very thoughtful of them!

Dejando de lado estos inconvenientes, este alojamiento merece una alta puntuación por su personal amable, su precio razonable, su delicioso desayuno y, sobre todo, por las vistas nocturnas. II recently stayed at the Guanxin Art Hotel in Shuhe Old Town, and it was an absolute delight from start to finish. Tucked away in a serene corner of this charming ancient town, the hotel’s artistic design immediately captivated me—think intricate local motifs blended with modern whimsy in every corner, from the lobby’s handcrafted murals to the thoughtfully curated room accents. It’s the kind of place that feels like stepping into a living gallery. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a warming welcome tea set that set a perfectly relaxed tone after our journey. And the turndown service? A cozy surprise of warmed white fungus dessert that was both indulgent and surprisingly soothing—such a unique touch that made evenings feel special. Breakfast was a highlight, served with fresh, flavorful local ingredients and Western options that catered to every craving. Everything was excellent, from the fluffy pancakes to the vibrant fruit platters, all enjoyed in a sunlit courtyard that amplified the magic. The rooms themselves were a sanctuary: lovely, plush bedding that promised (and delivered) the deepest sleep, wrapped in an ambiance that’s equal parts elegant and inviting. What truly elevated the stay was the staff—they’re a warm, efficient bunch who went above and beyond. One team member even insisted on carrying my ridiculously heavy bags up the stairs without a second thought, all with a genuine smile. And let’s talk about the hotel’s superstar resident: a massive, fluffy husky dog who’s as photogenic as he is well-behaved. He lounged gracefully by the entrance, offering tail-wags on demand but never intrusive—pure joy! One minor note: the hotel is nestled a bit deeper into the old town, so we walked about 15-20 minutes from the pickup point. But honestly, it was a lovely stroll through lantern-lit alleys, past street vendors and hidden courtyards—part of the adventure that made arriving feel earned. If you’re seeking a boutique escape that’s artistic, attentive, and utterly memorable, Guanxin Art Hotel is it. El anfitrión fue súper atento. Me llamó antes de que saliera para Lijiang para preguntar mi hora de llegada. Cuando el taxi llegó cerca del B&B, salió a ayudarme con el equipaje. This was my second stay at a Banyan Tree property, and once again, it turned out to be a truly memorable and pleasant experience. Frank, our personal concierge, was exceptionally responsive and attentive throughout our stay. He was always quick to assist with our requests and even replied to messages after regular working hours. There was a minor housekeeping incident during our stay, but Frank handled the service recovery professionally and resolved the matter promptly. The thoughtful gesture of providing gifts and a cake was greatly appreciated, and my child absolutely loved the surprise. From start to finish, we felt genuinely well taken care of. Frank’s service was highly commendable, and he is definitely a valuable asset to the Banyan Tree Group. Our dinner experience at Baiyun was also superb. The ambience was wonderful, and the food was excellent. We also enjoyed the complimentary photoshoot session, which became one of the most memorable highlights of our trip. Our photographer was incredibly professional and patient, guiding us throughout the session and capturing many beautiful photos. In the end, I decided to purchase a photo package because the photos turned out so well and were truly worth it. The staff there were also warm, friendly, efficient, and highly responsive. There are, however, a few areas that could be improved: 1. The menu and operating schedule for Mingyue were somewhat confusing. We had planned to have dinner there one evening, only to realize that Chinese cuisine was not served on certain days and during certain hours, which required us to make alternative arrangements. 2. The soundproofing in the room could be improved, as we were able to hear our neighboring guests quite clearly even when they were speaking at normal volume. 3. The water temperature in the shower was inconsistent. Although we adjusted it to a comfortable level, the temperature would occasionally drop suddenly and become very cold. 4. Staff could perhaps be slightly more observant and proactive. On our first day, it was raining when we arrived at the room via buggy. There was no sheltered area where we alighted, so we had to stand briefly in the rain while moving our luggage. 5. The fruit platter in the room could be fresher. The apples and oranges did not seem as fresh compared to what we experienced at other hotels in Dali and Kunming. 6. Breakfast options could be expanded further. I was also hoping to find more fresh and exotic detox juices, especially ones prepared on the spot. (Similar to Bintan Banyan Tree) Despite these minor issues, our overall stay was still excellent. The scenery and views within the resort were absolutely stunning, and we especially enjoyed being able to feed the ducks and fishes. It created a very relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere for the family. The best hotel we stayed at during our entire trip to Yunnan. We got a free upgrade from the owner, and the benefits that come with the room were aplenty (afternoon tea, great breakfast set, a tea-making session etc). The owner also helps us buy a nice, affordable day tour to Dali, which we enjoyed tremendously. The hotel itself is new and spacious, and our room has the view of a peaceful small river. The surrounding area is serene and quiet, with a handful of quaint cafes, restaurants and bars. It feels like a complete contrast of the other commercial side of Lijiang. Overall, we loved the stay. Will definitely recommend this our friends.

Un hotel muy bonito y con muchas posibilidades, gestionado y mantenido de una forma lamentable… Las villas son amplias, el exterior invita a disfrutar de la estancia en la terraza, el interior inicialmente estaría bien cuando lo construyeron pero han dejado que una villa de lujo haya pasado a ser algo vulgar… el mantenimiento es terrible, se nota que hace mucho tiempo que no se preocupan por mantener el hotel adecuadamente, equipamiento obsoleto, mobiliario bueno pero viejo, calefacción de suelo radiante que no funciona, aire acondicionado que calienta poco y pese a no haber pasado frio era totalmente insuficiente… Intenté pedir al servicio de habitaciones y no me atendieron, tuve que ir personalmente al bar a recoger la bebida que había pedido. La piscina cerrada, totalmente inadmisible para un hotel que tiene en su nombre los apellidos Spa y Resort… El desayuno de los más básicos que he visto en un hotel de esta categoría y por el precio que se paga es totalmente inadmisible… Repetitivo, si variedad en absolutamente nada y con un servicio que no está a la altura de la categoría que dicen tener. En resumen, no volvería y no lo recomiendo en absoluto. SI no cambian su planteamiento como cadena hotelera pienso que es cuestión de tiempo que acaben cerrando… Un lastima que tengan tan mala gestión porque el hotel y sobre todo la ciudad de Lijiang tienen muchísimo potencial.

La habitación era pintoresca y encantadora, ubicada en el casco antiguo, muy cerca de la Puerta Sur. Llovía a cántaros cuando llegamos, y la joven, desafiando la lluvia, nos ayudó con el equipaje, mojándose los zapatos. Nos conmovió mucho. También fue muy amable, explicándonos la ruta al casco antiguo, ayudándonos a enviar paquetes y prestándonos chales para las fotos. Nos sentimos como en casa. La habitación era dúplex, y desde la ventana del segundo piso pudimos fotografiar la Montaña Nevada del Dragón de Jade. El casco antiguo estaba justo al lado, lo que facilitaba mucho comer y comprar.
