3x blokes, road cycling trip across Scotland. September 2023. Fantastic hotel, and exceptionally good value. Location is brilliant, lovely ride in along the marked Scottish C2C route, the hotel is right on the route so no detours. Staff excellent and friendly from start-to-finish. Checked our 3 bikes into the self-service secure storage. Enjoyed a great (well earned) 3 course dinner in the hotel restaurant, which had a great a**osphere and as mentioned, lovely staff. (There is also a great brewery tap next door if you fancy a change of scenery - we didn't manage to get further than that in the village!) Breakfast served early, first-class traditional Scottish - but plenty of other options. Unlimited coffee and juice, we were really happy. Rooms are good for the price, simple ”pub with rooms” style, remember. Everything needed for a stay of this type. It was very hot, but I still slept well. Highly recommended, we'd stay at Traquair Arms again without hesitation.

El hotel fue muy bien servicio, fan y comida en el restaurante. Sólo falta un jacuzzi en el spa. Nuestro viaje fue destruido por la recepción que nos cobra dos veces por nuestro alojamiento. Ya pagado via trip.com y luego se encontró en casa para descubrir el hotel también había cobrado directamente. ¡Por lo tanto, no volveremos como muy pobres cuidados de los clientes después de viaje!

We have so enjoyed staying at this hotel for 3 nights. First impressions are that the reception area is a bit tired but taking a few minutes to look around, it displays several details taken from the textile mill history and all kept in good order and very clean. We probably had the best room (No.72) which was large, comfortable, very warm, and a seating area beside the large bay window with open outlook over the rooftops of a few residential properties across the valley towards the beautiful hills. My only disappointment was that the room does not have a shower cubicle but it does have an amazing free standing roll top bath in the en-suite. The eating facilities and food were excellent at breakfast, in The Bakery throughout the day, and for dinner in the restaurant for dinner which we enjoyed each of the three nights from a very good menu selection. The level and manner of service from all of the staff was very good and friendly with one member, Christina, especially worthy of praise. The location was perfect for walking the short distance to the center of Peebles which has a variety of very nice independent shops and good walking routes. The area surrounding Peebles was lovely despite the damp rainy weather. I’d recommend the whole relaxing experience and willingly add it my repeat list for another visit.

I’ve no doubt the pandemic has hit them hard and they are struggling to recruit enough of the right staff. The positives: Lovely historic setting & ambience. On site Spa & Falconry. Lovely air clean rooms. Food ok to good. Abundance of parking. Desayuno incluido. The negatives: Poor staffing & services. Some staff just try too hard with ‘Amazing’ & Fantastic’ in their vocabulary constantly. Probably to relax the American market. The Orangery restaurant is very poorly run. El personal hace lo mejor, aunque podría trabajar con un poco más de prisa, no puede hacer frente. La mayoría de ella se reían y sólo se llamaba Fawty Towers, ¿qué pasa? :) Ellos podrían hacer mucho más con la veranda, el bar y la naranja. Sólo en la mente que estás fuera en el país y los taxis pueden ser limitados y costosos. En resumen - nos quedaríamos de nuevo por el precio correcto, probablemente fuera de la temporada de Festival. Mantenga a tus mejores chicos y galos pero cuidado a los propietarios, usted necesita gestionar este lugar mucho mejor

Could not fault this hotel. We had an itison deal for bed and breakfast. Staff were so happy and could not do enough to help. We were in room 207! Wow it was huge. Very comfortable bed . Clean room and lovely and warm. We had dinner in the hotel. Fish and chios were gorgeous. Breakfast was buffet hot and cold.. again the food and service was A+++.

For our two night stay we were allocated a very spacious superior room on the front of the property over looking the town centre. The luxurious contemporary furnishings and decor were much appreciated. A chez long and armchair seating enabled us to relax after local walks. The king sized bed was most comfortable. The bathroom was less luxurious but met all our needs with decent shower over bath. All breakfast items were served at our table rather than buffet style. With plenty of choice we settled on fresh fruit salad with yoghurt and granola followed by an outstanding tradional Scottish cooked breakfast with every item cooked to perfection. Porridge, croisants and egg based dishes were also available.
