Solo traveller staying for one night only. Only had the breakfast, of which there was a good selection of fruit, cereals, yoghurt etc. They also come round to take your order for hot food when seated and I have to say that was really good.
Staff are young and very professional in their approach, appearance and manner.
Beds nice and comfortable. Room was very clean, although the shower could do with upgrading. But, hey, warm water came out of it, so you could wash up 😉

Needing a place that is dog friendly for lunch we found this hotel. The brasserie and the bar both accept dogs. The staff were great and the food was lovely. I had a lovely breaded haddock followed by a banana crème brûlée. We would happily eat here again.

Centrally located on the high street among many shops and across from an atmospheric pub called the Crown Hotel which we would wholeheartedly recommend for dinner. Lovely staff at Tontine. . Very grateful that they had a lift as our suitcases were quite heavy, however it was a bit glitchy while we were there. But, we were quickly assisted so all was good. Staff seemed to not be on the same page, as we were on a walking holiday which had told us we could get a packed lunch to go, but the receptionist told us this wasn’t available. However, on further inquiry from another staff member, we were told it was available. It was a wonderful packed lunch and was handed to us at breakfast the next morning. Comfortable rooms. I would recommend!

Just back from an excellent 2 night stay at the Tontine. Arrived early, got to leave car in car park while we went a walk round Peebles. Check in was easy and staff very helpful. We were booked in for breakfast and dinner, every meal was excellent and the staff spot on. Room had everything you needed and was spotless and serviced on the Tuesday. A lovely hotel with lovely staff.

The twin room was warm and clean with very comfortable beds and pillows. The hotel staff are, with out exception, lovely. The breakfast was as good as any hotel we've stayed in and better than most. The location is also spot on being in the middle of town and with parking. We can highly recommend staying here.

A very enjoyable dinner in the Adam Restaurant which was notable for the excellent and speedy service provided, especially by the young waitress ‘Jesica’ who showed great professionalism despite her relative youth and inexperience. Good food in a very attractive dining room.

The beds were very comfortable and the food in the dining room was lovely both nights we stayed. It is very good value for money. The staff really made the stay as they were very friendly and helpful, offering wheelchair use for my elderly mum. On our final morning there was a problem with hot water but the staff keep us informed of what was happening and when it was fixed.

Lovely hotel stay on High Street. Close to restaurants and shopping. Can see river from dining room. Provided a beautiful entry to walk along the river and enjoy the budding spring day. The manager was helpful and accommodating. The traffic on High St. was not bothersome. There is an element of late night-early morning noise from adolescents about town if you have room facing High Street.

The hotel is very well presented, in a good location. The staff were welcoming and very pleasant and helpful. The room was clean, very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. This is the third time I have stayed in the Tontine with work and I am planning on returning in the summer for a more recreational visit.
