It’s the third time we came to Yufuin. Previously, we stayed in onsen hotels with meals provided. This time we are staying for 2 months in Japan to experience the local life, and Yufuin was our third stop, where we stayed for 6 nights. The service is top notch. The host responded very quickly whenever I had queries, and very clear instructions for free pick-up were given days before check-in. As we stepped in the house, the air- conditioner had already been turned on there were 3 big bottles of water in the fridge which made us feel so welcome. They collected our trash every day and asked us what we needed. The guesthouse is an independent unit full of beautiful Japanese decorations. It was sparkling clean and thoughtfully furnished with everything you need. A first-aid box was provided. We were given 12 sets of clean towels and toilet amenities, including toothbrushes. We have stayed in different apartments before and have never experienced this. More importantly, the kitchen was well equipped with everything—many cutlery items of different sizes and even wine glasses. There were a hot pot and a frying pan, a toaster, rice cooker, coffee machine, and even a dishwasher. You can't imagine there is even a massage chair! The bathroom was designed like an onsen. You can simply add some onsen powder to enjoy a hot bath. You can easily access different attractions on foot. The location is about a 20-minute walk to the nearby supermarkets, 25 minutes to the main shopping streets, and 30 minutes to the JR station. If you drive, it is even easier. For us, we enjoyed walking and seeing the beautiful scenery, so it was not a problem for us even though we didn’t drive. Every day we walked to the supermarkets and bought fresh produce to cook. We had so much fun making different dishes and hot pot. When we asked for a whetstone, the host quickly gave us theirs, and the next day, they bought us a new one. They even gave us sake as a gift. On the day of check-out, the host drove us to the JR station and helped us store our luggage in the visitors’ centre. Next time when we come to Yufuin, we will definitely stay here again. It’s really great value for money.

A lovely guesthouse with a spacious, clean room and free parking available upon request. The shared area is lively and includes a small kitchen for light meals which is a nice touch. The receptionists were friendly and very helpful throughout our stay. If on-site parking is unavailable, there’s a 24-hour parking option just a 5-minute walk away at a reasonable rate. There are also plenty of eateries nearby with affordable prices. Overall, we had a great experience and would happily stay here again if we return to the city.

El hotel también ha informado a Trip.com que el estacionamiento estaba disponible en el mismo edificio, pero al llegar me dio un mapa y me pidió que estacionara en otro lugar. La limpieza podría mejorarse, ya que el baño estaba ligeramente sucio y la habitación tenía un olor desagradable, posiblemente debido al tradicional piso de tatami japonés. La habitación era muy agradable, y se dio una toalla y todas las toallas necesarias, lo que era un acreedor.

I recently stayed at a traditional Japanese onsen hotel, and it was an amazing experience. The hotel offers private onsens, which provided an incredible level of privacy and relaxation—perfect for anyone trying onsen for the first time. It was so peaceful and serene, and the entire experience felt like a perfect escape from the stresses of daily life. The breakfast was simple yet delicious, offering traditional Japanese dishes that gave me a true taste of the local culture. It was light and satisfying—just what you need to start the day. The tatami bed was also an experience in itself, offering a unique and authentic Japanese way to rest. I slept incredibly well on it, and it added to the overall charm of staying in such a traditional setting. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, making me feel very welcomed and taken care of throughout my stay. The location was great—easy to access, with Tang Zhi Ping Road just a short distance away for anyone looking to explore. Plus, they offer free parking, which made it super convenient to travel around. Overall, this hotel is the perfect place for rest and relaxation, especially for those who want to try onsen in a private and peaceful setting. Highly recommend for anyone looking for an authentic, calming experience!

Esta es mi segunda casa de huéspedes en Beppu. Como ya me había alojado en un dormitorio compartido, pagué un poco más para elegir una habitación con tatami. Era una habitación enorme para una persona. Pasé cuatro días durmiendo plácidamente y en silencio en la espaciosa habitación. Me calentaba en las aguas termales del primer piso por las mañanas y por las noches, cocinaba cómodamente fideos udon que compré en la cocina compartida, y carne a la parrilla. El baño era compartido.

El hotel es un hotel muy acogedor y muy acogedor, especialmente los huéspedes. Aunque se han abierto todos los cuatro onsens para todos los huéspedes del hotel, puede utilizar uno de ellos mientras quiera, porque se les instruye a los huéspedes para que pongan un signo en el onsen para demostrar que está ocupado actualmente. Location: Very close to the bus and train station! Convenient if you need the transport. or if you want to visit Yufuin Floral Village and Kirin Lake, it’s walkable! Check in/out: Check in is done on the tablet on the second floor which was done pretty quickly and afterwards for check out there’s no procedure just make sure to leave at 10. Room: More spacious than expected. It has the amenities plus appliances (fridge, microwave, hair dryer). It’s fairly clean just some things dusty like the tv remote probably because it isn’t used much. My door was right next to the other room and sometimes when they open or close it it sounds like it was mine so i get startled haha maybe this is more on the customer side. Overall, i stayed for 2 nights and am greatly satisfied with my stay. I would consider booking this place again if I visit Yufuin again.

I had a truly memorable stay at this hotel. The female owner is exceptionally attentive and genuinely cares about each guest’s experience. She thoughtfully tailors everything to individual needs, and you can feel her strong sense of “kodawari” — a deep commitment to quality and detail — in every aspect of the stay. The location is wonderfully peaceful, with a forest just behind the property and a serene, well-kept garden that adds to the calming atmosphere. It’s the perfect place to relax and disconnect. The onsen is especially outstanding — very authentic and 100% kakenagashi (free-flowing natural hot spring water), which made the experience even more special. If you’re looking for a quiet, high-quality, and deeply authentic stay, this place is truly a gem.
