La ubicación es muy buena. Puedes ir directamente al castillo de Kumamoto. Si giras a la derecha, puedes llegar a la terminal de autobuses Kumamoto Sakuracho en 100 minutos e ir al aeropuerto. Al lado de la estación se encuentra la plaza comercial SAKURA Matchi. supermercado de negocios. Camine dos pasos más y subirá y bajará. El festival de compras de la ciudad es muy animado. El desayuno es tipo buffet y los platos son ricos y deliciosos.

As the first stop of my birthday trip, I chose Aso. Having previously worked as a hotel management professional, I had high expectations for the hotel’s facilities and services. My stay at Kakuman Hotel, along with my traveling companions, was thoroughly enjoyable—from check-in to the overall amenities, everything exceeded our satisfaction. The staff we encountered were exceptionally friendly, whether at the front desk or in the restaurant. Additionally, experiencing hot springs for the first time left us feeling deeply relaxed. Thank you to Kakuman Hotel for adding color to my journey.🙏🏼 While every aspect was highly satisfying, there was a minor shortcoming: the majority of diners in the restaurant were Korean tourists. On my second night, a small incident occurred during dinner. The server assigned me a seat where only tableware and a departure-time notice were placed. After I retrieved my food, I found three Korean guests (two elderly individuals and a middle-aged man) preparing to sit there. I was confused whether I had taken the wrong seat or if there was another reason, so I asked the guests. Unexpectedly, the man loudly called over the female server who had arranged the seat and sharply questioned her in Japanese. The server later found me the correct seat, which was at the table adjacent to the three guests. I felt deeply sorry for the female server being unjustly scolded, and I also did not understand why the Korean man needed to accuse her in such a loud tone—I would have been happy to apologize for my misunderstanding. Regarding the above incident, I would like to offer a suggestion: the tables in the restaurant are each equipped with a bucket of tableware and wet wipes, but there are no numbers or markers to identify the assigned seats. Guests can only rely on placing their own items or memory to remember their seats. I believe I am not the only one who has encountered a similar issue, and the hotel may consider adding markers to each table to make it easier for guests to recognize their assigned seats.

Location is very good, walking distance to the shopping streets. We had everything we need from the amenities area. Breakfast is very good range, and most important YUMMY! The staffs at the breakfast area were very friendly and helpful too, they even helped my son (5yr old) with his drink he wants 🥰 We loved the bath, face and hand towels that are used in the hotel. They feel so soft to the skin!

Pros- spacious villa, quality bedding and large private indoor onsen( see picture 13). We also like the public outdoor onsen in the sister ryokan nearby. There is a little cafe there you can buy drinks and coffee, run by an adorable old couple, very nice and polite. We spent a lot of time there just chilling and listening to the music. Cons- Living room: we were only able to book the western style villa as it’s a little last minute trip. The living room is basic, bland, with sofa, instead or tatami. Our room 512 is next to the car park. Parking lot in front of your main door is not very pleasant. Food : just soso. Nothing extraordinary. See picture. No horse sashimi, the presentation of the steak is really ordinary - disappointing. Perhaps because we had such an amazing meals in the previous ryokan this became a massive letdown. Dinner served in a large public dining room, lack of the privacy and intimacy ther ryokan provide ( we had private dining room in another ryokan 野之花during this trip). I got to see other couples but also feeling like we are being watched. Service- served by young people, not much attentiveness you would expect in traditional ryokan, lack of the warmth and ritual. Reception- 3 star at best. A basic room with uncomfortable chair while you wait to be checked in. We arrived around 2:30pm, and was told that check in can only start at 3pm, and please wait. So we sat at the hard chair and forced to watch the promotional video until 3pm. Conclusion - 3.5 star ryokan, not the most exciting or exclusive villa we have stayed. Maybe it would get better once the trees grow thicker and staff better trained. The sister Ryokan nearby has better feel of environment and feels more established.

Nous avons été reçus comme des princes. Tout a été parfait. C’est du très haut de gamme mais l’ambiance reste très typique. Le dîner et le petit déjeuner sont parfaits et très copieux. Une très belle adresse

El hotel está un poco apartado, en una zona sin tiendas, salvo una tienda de conveniencia... pero a 10 minutos de la estación de tren y de los centros comerciales en autobús o tranvía. La bienvenida fue amable, la habitación estaba limpia y el onsen, aunque pequeño (máximo 5 personas), es una gran ventaja... no hay sauna ni baño de vapor. No hay servicio de limpieza diario, como suele ocurrir en Japón, pero se proporciona una pequeña bolsa con toallas, cepillos de dientes y una botella pequeña de agua todos los días. Lavadora a 100 yenes. Hay un restaurante en la entrada, pero no lo he probado. Hay barra libre disponible de 21:00 a 21:00, con o sin alcohol. Se proporcionan almohadas, algo necesario porque la habitación es muy dura. Hay una parada de autobús enfrente del hotel que va a la estación de tren. La salida es a las 10:00... siempre es temprano cuando no se trabaja.

Stayed one night at Fairfield by Marriott Kumamoto Aso and it was a peaceful, refreshing stop during my Kyushu trip. The hotel is set near the beautiful Mount Aso area, surrounded by nature — a perfect contrast to the city. Waking up to the fresh air and quiet atmosphere was honestly one of the highlights. The room was clean, modern, and minimalist, with everything thoughtfully designed for comfort. While it’s not a luxury resort, it delivers exactly what you need: a relaxing, no-fuss stay with great quality. The shared lounge space was a nice touch — spacious, cozy, and ideal for unwinding or grabbing a quick bite. One thing to note: there’s no on-site restaurant, so it’s best to plan meals in advance or explore nearby local spots. Overall, it’s a great choice if you’re looking for a calm, scenic stay near Aso. Perfect for a short getaway or a stopover while exploring Kumamoto. Would definitely recommend for nature lovers and road trip travelers.

Less than 5mins from the Kumamoto station (but note that the station is not close to the city centre). Room is clean, breakfast is free and good taste, the public bath is not large but still very relaxing.

Fue el alojamiento más impresionante para descansar y vivir en este viaje. El precio es razonable. El personal y la dueña son muy serviciales y amables. Me presentaron su alojamiento incluso cuando llegué bastante tarde. La decoración y las instalaciones son magníficas. La cocina tiene todo lo necesario para los viajeros. Te sientes como en casa, pero dentro del hostal. La ubicación es buena, cerca del tranvía. Además, la sala común, la azotea y el baño son ideales para descansar. La habitación privada no es ni muy pequeña ni muy grande, pero era muy acogedora para alojarse y organizar tus cosas. Puedo hacer un poco de estiramiento por la mañana allí. ¡Me encantó! Muy recomendable para chicas y otros viajeros 💗

Un lugar precioso, y la habitación era realmente excelente: espaciosa, luminosa, cálida, con ropa de cama impecable y una limpieza impecable. El baño es amplio e incluye bañera, y la habitación está muy bien equipada (hervidor eléctrico, pequeña cocina, nevera grande). También fue posible organizar paseos a caballo y comprar entradas para las aguas termales, lo cual es una gran ventaja. Sin embargo, para mochileros, este alojamiento no es ideal en absoluto. Está muy lejos de todo: – FamilyMart: a unos 27 minutos a pie – Parada de autobús: a unos 21 minutos a pie – Museo del Monte Aso: alrededor de 1 hora y 15 minutos en total (incluidos 20 minutos a pie) – Estación de Aso: a una hora y 15 minutos a pie Una anécdota: al principio subimos al alojamiento cargando nuestras mochilas de 10 kg, solo para ver en la puerta que el registro se realiza en la planta baja. Sería útil indicarlo más claramente en la planta baja, o al menos facilitar su identificación a los viajeros extranjeros, ya que nosotros no vimos la información 😅. Por último, para quienes planean ir caminando al Museo Aso o a las zonas de senderismo, el sendero indicado al final de la zona residencial cerca del alojamiento no existe.
