So, that’s the bad stuff. The good stuff was the lounge. Nicely done with faux period leather chairs. But what I liked best was the 1970s extension where the the dining room and bar were housed. One side was packed out with golfers, the other virtually empty. We went there and drank $8 wine and watched the sun set over the gardens and golf links.What I also liked was the inside staff. Everyone of them was exceptionally nice and unfailingly helpful. We didn’t eat there. Food was about $40 a main course. It did look v nice. Be aware that upstairs has no lift and the stairs are quite steep. Renovations are ongoing but regrettably they are not restorations of beautiful period features. The instead involve lots of white paint and plastic bathroom suites.
