Oriental aesthetics in every corner The guesthouse is converted from a century-old traditional Bai courtyard house. With its grey-tiled roofs, white walls, and beautifully carved wooden structures, the space carries a quiet sense of history and elegance. The courtyard features water elements, stone paths, and blue and yellow lanterns that create beautiful layers of light and shadow during the day. At night, the soft lighting outlines the architecture and gives the entire space a warm, cinematic atmosphere. The common areas are equally charming, with a stone-built fireplace, vintage furniture, and art pieces thoughtfully placed throughout. The design blends traditional Eastern aesthetics with modern touches, creating a space that feels both timeless and refined. Comfort with thoughtful details Our room was spacious, bright, and very comfortable. A stone feature wall behind the bed, paired with soft bedding and warm lighting, created a subtle sense of “wild luxury” while still feeling cosy and relaxed. Opening the window reveals the courtyard view — waking up to birdsong in the morning and watching the lanterns glow in the evening adds a special charm to the stay. Warm and attentive service From booking to check-out, the hosts were welcoming and attentive. Upon arrival, they introduced the history of the house and highlighted the design features of the property, and were happy to recommend nearby restaurants and local spots to explore. The afternoon tea was beautifully presented, with fresh fruit and delicate snacks — perfect for enjoying a slow afternoon in the courtyard. Breakfast included some local Bai-style flavours, simple yet delicious, and a lovely way to start the day. A peaceful location near the old town The guesthouse is tucked away in Zhongyin Village at the foot of Cangshan Mountain, about a 15-minute drive from Dali Ancient Town. It offers a quiet retreat away from the crowds while still being conveniently close to the main attractions. Surrounded by village life and forested hills, the air feels fresh and full of the scent of nature. More than just a place to stay, Mutian Time feels like a living piece of art. It brought a sense of calm and poetry to our trip to Dali. We had a wonderful two-night stay at Dali Twelve Clouds Villa Seaview Hotel (Erhai Branch).😊 The view of the lake from our room was stunning, the atmosphere was peaceful, and the breakfast was very, very good — plenty of variety and really fresh. The hotel itself is clean, comfortable, and great value for money. A special mention goes to Zhang Feng, who truly made our stay outstanding. Even though we arrived late at night, he checked us in smoothly and went above and beyond to help us. We didn’t have access to the local food apps, but he kindly used his own to order food for us when we were hungry, making sure everything was taken care of. Throughout our stay, he was attentive, kind, and always ready to help with anything we needed. His hospitality really stood out. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here. Beautiful scenery, comfortable rooms, and genuine hospitality. I would definitely recommend this hotel, and if you meet Zhang Feng, you’ll be in very good hands!😊

¡No tengo ninguna queja sobre este hotel! La ubicación es excelente, a poca distancia a pie de las Tres Pagodas (a 10 minutos a la izquierda) y también de la Puerta Norte del casco antiguo, girando a la derecha a 5-10 minutos en línea recta. Los jardines del hotel y el restaurante tienen vistas a las pagodas. Nuestra habitación era enorme, tranquila y tenía todo lo necesario. Además, contaba con detalles muy bonitos: tazas, vasos, cubiertos, todo muy elegante; servicio de preparación de la cama con leche. El desayuno era muy bueno, no muy abundante, pero tenía muchas especialidades locales y platos occidentales estándar. Sin embargo, probablemente uno de los mayores atractivos del hotel sea Kadi, el gerente general francés (especialmente si eres extranjero). Fue muy atento, nos dio mucha información y conocía muy bien la zona. Nos dio consejos estupendos para visitar los lugares de interés locales, la mejor manera de visitar las pagodas, dónde ir exactamente en el lago Erhai (no los sitios habituales) y nos sugirió lugares realmente buenos para comer; solo hay que seguir sus recomendaciones. Incluso consiguió que el chef nos preparara ensalada de pétalos de rosa para el desayuno, ya que los días que estuvimos allí no la ofrecían. El resto del personal también fue genial; aunque no hablaban inglés (excepto Kadi), todos respondieron rápidamente en WeChat. ¡Ojalá nos hubiéramos quedado más de dos días, Dali tiene mucho que ofrecer!

El lugar está cerca de la entrada de Cangshan. Es conveniente si quieres ir a Cangshan o tomar el autobús público a Xizhou. El lugar está limpio, pero no ofrecen servicio de limpieza diario a menos que lo solicites. Aun así, la limpieza que proporcionan consiste en sacar la basura y dejar toallas y agua embotellada. Para mí, eso es suficiente. La habitación es espaciosa y tanto el baño como el aseo están limpios. Para los viajeros, llovió todo el día y de forma continua durante varios días cuando estuve allí a finales de mayo. Es temporada de lluvias, así que quizás quieras reconsiderar tu viaje si planeas hacerlo durante este período. También hay una agencia de viajes que ofrece transporte en autobús a las atracciones de Dali; salen de la puerta sur. Si contratas este servicio, que es bastante conveniente para viajar a todas las atracciones, hay que caminar 2 km desde allí hasta este lugar. Ofrecen pases de 24 horas (8 días) y de 72 horas, que también incluyen el transporte a la estación de tren y al aeropuerto.

Finalmente en Dali encontrar un maravilloso panorama marino! We had a wonderful 3-night stay here and truly enjoyed every moment. The hotel offers beautiful views and a peaceful, zen-like atmosphere that made it the perfect place to relax after exploring Dali. One of our favourite spots was the lovely garden and reading area, which is beautifully maintained and creates a calm, relaxing environment. Whether enjoying a quiet morning or winding down in the evening, it added so much charm to our stay. The lady boss was incredibly warm, kind, and welcoming, making us feel at home from the moment we arrived. She even took the time to prepare tea for us and chat with us, which made our stay feel especially personal and memorable. The daily breakfast was simple, healthy, and thoughtfully prepared, lovely way to start each day. The location is also very convenient, being close to both Dali Ancient Town and Cangshan, making it easy to get around and explore the area. A special touch was the complimentary one-way transfer to the train station, which made our departure smooth and hassle-free. Every staff member we met was friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. We were also excited to hear that the hotel is adding more amenities and facilities, so future guests will have even more to look forward to. It’s clear that the owners care deeply about their guests and are constantly working to make the experience even better. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality. We left feeling refreshed, well cared for, and with beautiful memories of Dali. We would gladly stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and authentic stay.

Chill out! You’ve got restaurants and cafés nearby, plus breathtaking views right outside your doorstep. Rent an e-bike and soak up the sights along the west shore of Erhai Lake.
