We stayed for one night at the Garden Panorama Suite with Soaking Tub at Dali Yunying Chunxiao Shuiyuan Scenic Hotel. This is a small boutique hotel, and while there are some things worth improving, the views and overall atmosphere were truly memorable. The first thing that struck us when we arrived was the view of Erhai Lake. It was absolutely exquisite and looked almost exactly like the photos online. Every corner of the hotel was incredibly photogenic, and the whole place had a very calm, peaceful and almost surreal atmosphere. The hotel itself is quite small, with a compact lobby that also serves as the breakfast area, but the incredible lake view more than made up for the limited space. The hotel is located along a cobbled street with no direct car access. The hotel contacted us beforehand to ask about our arrival time, which was appreciated, and their staff met us to collect our luggage and transported it to the hotel by motorbike. However, we initially thought someone would escort or pick us up, but instead we were given a location to follow on foot. The route was a little confusing and we got slightly lost, particularly because the final stretch goes through a very quiet back street that doesn’t really look like it leads to a hotel. It was also raining when we arrived and when we left, so we really appreciated that the hotel lent us umbrellas. The location itself is convenient, with plenty of restaurants and shops within walking distance. However, one important point for future guests is that the streets leading back to the hotel are completely dark at night, with no street lights at all. We found this quite scary and felt it could be unsafe, especially for families with young children or anyone returning after dark. Our room had a beautiful view of Erhai Lake, but unfortunately the upkeep and cleanliness did not quite match what we expected for the price. There were quite a few dead fish and pieces of rubbish visible around the water when looking over the ledge, both from our room and from the lobby area. The balcony also had a hammock, but it did not look particularly safe to use, and there were plants growing out from the lake and into the hammock area. The room itself was also relatively small for the price, and the cleanliness could have been better. That said, there were some really lovely inclusions with our room, including afternoon tea, a photoshoot, goodnight dessert and breakfast. Breakfast was not buffet-style, but we were given a choice of mains along with some sides and a drink. The portions were on the smaller side, but everything we had was good. The photoshoot was a particularly nice touch and something we really appreciated. Three photos were included with our stay, and we actually enjoyed the experience enough to purchase additional photos beyond the included three. It was a lovely way to capture our time in Dali. We were also celebrating our child’s birthday during our stay, and the hotel went above and beyond by preparing a very cute birthday cake for him. It was such a thoughtful gesture and genuinely made the stay more special❤️ Overall, this hotel has an incredibly beautiful setting and a very unique atmosphere. The views are genuinely stunning and the photography opportunities are fantastic. The thoughtful extras, especially the photoshoot and birthday cake, were also highlights of our stay. However, for the price, we felt the room upkeep, cleanliness and accessibility could be improved, and the completely unlit walk back to the hotel at night is something future guests should be aware of. If the hotel were to improve the maintenance and cleanliness while addressing the nighttime access issue, it could be an exceptional boutique stay because the location and views are truly special.

Mutian Time Designer Guesthouse, Dali | A poetic stay in a century-old Bai courtyard We’ve just returned from Dali, and the place we keep thinking about most is this hidden gem at the foot of Cangshan Mountain — Mutian Time Designer Guesthouse. Oriental aesthetics in every corner The guesthouse is converted from a century-old traditional Bai courtyard house. With its grey-tiled roofs, white walls, and beautifully carved wooden structures, the space carries a quiet sense of history and elegance. The courtyard features water elements, stone paths, and blue and yellow lanterns that create beautiful layers of light and shadow during the day. At night, the soft lighting outlines the architecture and gives the entire space a warm, cinematic atmosphere. The common areas are equally charming, with a stone-built fireplace, vintage furniture, and art pieces thoughtfully placed throughout. The design blends traditional Eastern aesthetics with modern touches, creating a space that feels both timeless and refined. Comfort with thoughtful details Our room was spacious, bright, and very comfortable. A stone feature wall behind the bed, paired with soft bedding and warm lighting, created a subtle sense of “wild luxury” while still feeling cosy and relaxed. Opening the window reveals the courtyard view — waking up to birdsong in the morning and watching the lanterns glow in the evening adds a special charm to the stay. Warm and attentive service From booking to check-out, the hosts were welcoming and attentive. Upon arrival, they introduced the history of the house and highlighted the design features of the property, and were happy to recommend nearby restaurants and local spots to explore. The afternoon tea was beautifully presented, with fresh fruit and delicate snacks — perfect for enjoying a slow afternoon in the courtyard. Breakfast included some local Bai-style flavours, simple yet delicious, and a lovely way to start the day. A peaceful location near the old town The guesthouse is tucked away in Zhongyin Village at the foot of Cangshan Mountain, about a 15-minute drive from Dali Ancient Town. It offers a quiet retreat away from the crowds while still being conveniently close to the main attractions. Surrounded by village life and forested hills, the air feels fresh and full of the scent of nature. More than just a place to stay, Mutian Time feels like a living piece of art. It brought a sense of calm and poetry to our trip to Dali. En Dali, ¡por fin me instalé en la casa de mis sueños! ¡Una recomendación perfecta de 10/10 para esta casa de huéspedes! Esta es sin duda la casa de huéspedes más acogedora en la que me he alojado; ¡es un destino perfecto en sí misma! Desde la llegada hasta la salida, cada día transcurrió con una cálida atención. La casa de huéspedes, dirigida por un veterano, me transmitió una enorme sensación de seguridad. Lo que más valoro de esta casa de huéspedes es su ritmo de vida relajado. Por las tardes, podía disfrutar de un té y leer en el soleado patio, o contemplar las montañas Cangshan y el lago Erhai desde la terraza de la azotea, sin hacer nada más que soñar despierto. El cuidado diseño de las zonas comunes se hace patente en todas partes; cada rincón es perfecto para tomar fotos. Si buscas algo más que una cama, un espacio cálido para relajarte, disfrutar de hermosos paisajes y conectar con amigos, ¡este es tu lugar!

We had a great stay at Country Inn by Radisson in Dali and would happily stay here again. It offers excellent value for money, very friendly service, and clean, comfortable rooms in a convenient location. Location: The hotel is around a 10-minute Didi ride from Dali Ancient City, the Three Pagodas, and the Old Tea Horse Trail and 15min ride to Longkan Pier, making it easy to explore the main attractions on the West side. There are also plenty of convenient shared rental scooters available outside each morning, and taxis arrive quickly. Room & Cleanliness: Before arriving, we requested a non-smoking room. Our original room was still undergoing a smoke removal treatment, so the staff kindly upgraded us to one of their ”Pure Stay” rooms on the second floor. It was also much quieter, which was appreciated as I needed to work during our stay. The room was clean, spacious, had no smoke smell at all and even had an air purifying system. The hotel feels very new and is well maintained all lights and curtains in the room can be controlled with smart panels. The bed was soft and comfortable, with thick, good-quality duvets that made for a great night's sleep. The air conditioning was excellent and a welcome relief from the summer heat, keeping the room cool and comfortable throughout our stay. The bathroom was equally clean, with an automatic flushing toilet featuring a built-in UV sanitiser as part of the Pure Stay room. The shower had excellent water pressure, and as someone with very long, thick hair, I was pleasantly surprised about the quality of the shampoo and conditioners. Service The service was one of the highlights of our stay. The front desk staff were consistently warm, welcoming, and eager to help. A special thank you to the two gentlemen at reception who went above and beyond to communicate with us, organise the room upgrade, and even print several work documents for me free of charge. We were also welcomed with a small gift at check-in, which was a thoughtful touch. Facilities: The hotel has a lovely garden with several attractive spots for holiday photos. There is a convenient 24-hour tea and coffee station in the lobby, as well as a large power bank rental station before heading out for the day. The only small suggestion would be to also provide coffee sachets in the guest rooms for added convenience. The complimentary WiFi is an open network, which is a bit risky. It was a little slow for heavier work tasks but was perfectly adequate for normal browsing and everyday use. Breakfast: Breakfast was the only area that did not quite match the rest of our experience. There was a reasonable selection, but we found it fairly basic, particularly for international travellers, and chose to have breakfast elsewhere on our second morning. Overall: This hotel offers excellent value, outstanding cleanliness, genuinely helpful staff, and a convenient location for exploring Dali. If you are looking for a comfortable, modern hotel with friendly service, I would happily recommend staying here.

El lugar más satisfactorio para alojarse cuando viaja a Yunnan. La casera es una persona muy agradable. Básicamente ella puede resolver cualquier problema que tengas, así que no tendrás que preocuparte por ser estafado. La habitación estaba muy limpia y afuera, a través de la ventana que iba del suelo al techo, se veía el lago Erhai, como si fuera una pintura. Cada mañana, cuando miraba hacia afuera, mi estado de ánimo mejoraba durante todo el día. Aquí está la imagen original. Soy demasiado perezoso para editarlo. Será más impactante cuando lo veas con tus propios ojos.

The highlight of this hotel is the breathtaking view from the room. The hotel ambience feels homey and comfortable. I rarely write reviews for my trips, but this hotel truly won my heart with its welcoming service and friendly receptionists. What surprised me the most was the hotel driver, Mr. Mars, who offered to take us to Dali Railway Station free of charge. As we needed to catch our train, he did his very best to get us there as quickly as possible. What an amazing and unforgettable service! Thank you, Mr. Mars..you truly made our day with your warm and thoughtful service.

De vuelta a Dali de Kuchen Foshan, elegir estancia temporal a la isla de Jinjiang. Muchas veces vine a Dali, por primera vez en la isla, este hotel es realmente la más satisfactoria. La escena del mar es inexistente, la cama es donde puede ver el mar y la paliza, las instalaciones son muy inteligentes y la higiene es muy limpia. ¡El precio es muy alto!
