Rooms come in a variety, and I booked a studio that comes with an open kitchen. The studio is spacious and cozy, perfect for bingeing TV on rainy days. With a kitchen complete with pots and utensils, you can even cook your own or heat up takeaway meals easily. Bed mattress and pillows are soft and clean. Room smells a bit in the afternoon when it gets hot but just a tiny bit, but I'm not sure if the smell is coming from me after working out... oops. Anyway no biggie, problem is easily solved with an air freshener from the supermarket next door. Overall, room is clean and well maintained.
Service from the staff is fantastic too. They are all courteous, respectful and friendly. Staying in this hotel feels like living in a village where everyone greets and smiles at you. My original intention was to come here, gym, swim and eat clean, but it's kind of difficult to do that when the staff keeps tempting you with delicacies. Besides a free daily pastry from their bakery, they also gave me a free afternoon tea for 2. Sorry Oakwood, I didn't try everything because it's a little too much for me, but I feel completely loved and at home here~
The breakfast buffet spread is tasty and... comprehensive. In addition to the 4-star standard offerings in Asia like egg and noodle stations, Continental and Asian options, fresh fruits, yoghurt and coffee machine, they also boast an impressive spread of local delights like nasi lemak, Indo style kueh desserts, pandan flavoured bread and cakes and more. Outside of breakfast, the bistro also serves a wide range of local and international delights either in-person at the bistro or privately in your room.
Picked this hotel partly also because they have a gym and a pool and my experience with both are probably among the best I've had in hotels so far. Besides the usual cardio machines, they also had this all in one rack/machine where you can basically workout most of the major muscle groups without improvising. Very good range of dumbbell pairs and kettle bells too. Probably just lacking a better workout bench, but you can make do with what they have there. And the pool, wow. It was mostly raining when I visited, but on the one day when it's not, the pool boasted a beautiful sunset backdrop in a tranquil setting. Such a beautiful pool at sunset and I had it all to myself!
The hotel is right next to Grand Batam Mall too, you can hop right next door for meals, massage and shopping without stepping out to the sun. Very convenient.
TLDR, I loved my stay here! Room is spacious and cozy, service is fantastic, food is good, amenities are comprehensive; I have no complaints. For hotels in the city, it is difficult to beat Oakwood in every aspect if you also consider its price.

MMalaTM¡Quédate aquí con mi madre! ¡Absolutamente amar mi estancia! El hotel es limpio, huele bien, las camas son grandes y cómodas, el baño era pequeño, pero la presión de la ducha era poder!! El desayuno también era grande! Hacía varias variedades durante los 3 días que me quedé! ¡La ubicación es también grande! Caminar a One Batam Mall y abt 10-15 mins atrapa a todos los demás mallas. ¡Seguramente volverá aquí para mi próxima viaje de batam!

MMimyoTravelsOverall, really really satisfied with this place! Booked this hotel with my family of 4. Firstly, the room we book is definitely big enough of all of us :) To be able to have dinner on a table, and having 2 toilets, is really great! SUPER big shoutout to the hotel breakfast - it is one of the best I've ever seen. Absolutely huge, and have probably everything you may expect of a southeast asian breakfast :) Regarding location, yes there are not a lot of things you can do within walking distance, but there is a small mini mart just 3 minutes walk away if you want to grab some snacks or drinks. They also provide shuttle bus service to some selected malls - which is great! We did use this service to Grand Batam Mall :) You will have to inform the concierge beforehand just so they can make sure the mini bus will have enough seats for everyone. However, a slight disappointment happened after - after we arrived at Grand Batam Mall, the driver asked if we would like a ride back later (which is so kind of him), I told him I'm not so sure yet - if I'll need one, I'll send a Whatsapp to their front desk. 30 minutes before I decided to book the mini bus back, I sent a Whatsapp which no one replied, so ended up booking a gojek back to the hotel 30 minutes later. Which makes me wonder if what was the point of the hotel having a Whatsapp haha! It would have been nice if someone replied, even if rejecting me for last minute booking, which I am totally fine with :)
Nonetheless, thats the only small point I think the hotel can improve on. The rest of the staff are SOOOO friendly!!! The facilities in the hotel (gym, pool, restaurants) are also clean, looks new, and high end as these are shared facilities with the neighbouring Wyndham Panbil (5 stars). I will 100% recommend everyone to come here, and I would love to return again some day ^^

UUsuario invitadoFui allí con pocas expectativas debido a las críticas en Tripadvisor. Pero creo que el hotel es bastante bueno en general. Sí, el hotel es un poco viejo y la ropa de cama puede tener una pequeña mancha, pero me sorprendió gratamente que su cama individual sea en realidad una cama tamaño queen y una cama individual. Sus habitaciones también están amuebladas principalmente con muebles de madera. Otra cosa que me gusta mucho es el aire acondicionado, es muy fuerte y hace mucho frío. Nos envolvimos en la manta como un burrito. Quizás una pequeña cosa a tener en cuenta es que, aunque hay carteles de ”prohibido fumar” en los ascensores, todavía hay viajeros que fuman abiertamente allí. Pero aparte de eso, creo que el hotel está bien en general. También es bastante seguro, porque debes escanear la tarjeta de la habitación antes de seleccionar el nivel al que deseas ir. También hay Macdonalds cerca, sólo hay que cruzar la calle.

CChengzhen YuRecently stayed at Montigo with my family as it was my boy’s birthday celebration, and wanted to share our experience.
Upon check-in, there was some issue between their system and my booking through the app, which took more than 30 minutes to resolve. Luckily the place wasn’t crowded, and my kids didn’t get bored while waiting.
One thing I liked was the baggage delivery service from place to place. Requests can be made through WhatsApp and their response was pretty fast, which made things quite convenient.
Currently, one of the restaurants is under renovation, so we had lunch at Tiigo. Personally, I didn’t really enjoy the food, but I have to give credit to the view — that was easily a 10/10.
As for the room, we had some issues with the bathroom design/drainage. Water in the bathing area didn’t drain properly and would get trapped at one side of the bathroom. The bathtub water would also flow into the toilet area, making the whole floor wet, especially when my kids were playing in the bathtub.
It became quite slippery and my kids actually took turns falling in the bathroom, which was a little concerning from a safety perspective.
On the positive side, because it was my boy’s birthday celebration, they were very thoughtful and kind enough to prepare birthday decorations and a cake for him, which was a really nice touch and made the experience feel special.
Overall, despite a few areas that could be improved, especially the bathroom setup in our room, we still enjoyed the stay and appreciated their service. I would still come back again, but probably not choose the same room.

UUsuario anónimoIHG. Holiday Inn. Se parece que este hotel en Batam ha sido descuidado. Muchas de las instalaciones carecen de mantenimiento. La piscina, gimnasio, club infantil .....la lista se mantiene. El personal es excelente. Pero por qué no se ha mantenido bien cuando es tan popular. Covid tomó la chauvinista en todo el mundo. Pero muchos hoteles han vuelto a la calle y están recibiendo a los huéspedes con una esperanza renovada. Los hoteles necesitan actualizar constantemente para que los huéspedes deseen seguir volviendo.
Caminos de pie, cuerpo picante después de dormir en la cama y baños que carecen son algunas de las características del Holiday Inn Batam.
El hotel es un hotel muy bueno si se mejora en el mantenimiento.
No es demasiado tarde para empezar. Esperando volver en 2026 si hay mejoras.
