UUsuario invitadoLa habitación era un poco más pequeña de lo esperado. Por la noche, el aire acondicionado se apagó solo a medianoche mientras dormía, y hacía tanto calor que no pude cubrirme con la manta. Como resultado, a la mañana siguiente me desperté con un ligero resfriado.
El servicio fue muy bueno; el personal de recepción me ayudó a subir el equipaje a la habitación. Ofrecen desayuno, merienda y refrigerio nocturno, y el sabor de todo era bastante aceptable.
En general, a excepción de que la ubicación es un poco remota. Por la mañana, al hacer el check-out y bajar en el ascensor a la planta baja, vi que habían fregado el suelo. Sin embargo, a juzgar por el penetrante olor a pescado que me invadió nada más salir del ascensor, diría que lo hicieron con agua de muy mala calidad.

This time, I came back for something truly special: to propose to my girlfriend on Qixi Festival, China’s Valentine’s Day. Given how much this moment meant to me, I wanted everything to be perfect. That’s why I chose the Grand Hyatt Kunming, a brand I’ve always trusted, and booked a Deluxe King Room with Club Access for August 28–30.
The first night started well. We stayed on the 26th floor — even though the room was near the elevator, it was surprisingly quiet, and the layout and lighting made it feel warm and comfortable. Everything was off to a good start.
But things took a turn the next day — the actual day of the proposal, August 29 — a day I had been planning for a long time.
We were given a room on the 24th floor, and from the moment we walked in, I could tell something was off. The layout felt awkward, and the room was noticeably warmer than the night before. I turned on the air conditioning, but it didn’t seem strong enough. I even checked with the hotel staff that afternoon and was told the room was “standard size.”
After the proposal (which thankfully went beautifully!), my fiancée and I left the room around 9:00 PM for dinner. Before leaving, we set the AC to 16°C, hoping we’d come back to a cool and comfortable space.
But when we returned around 11:30 PM, the room temperature hadn’t improved at all. It was still stuffy, and the bathroom was even worse — no proper ventilation, just heat and humidity. We called the front desk, and two technicians came up. After checking everything, they told us the room was “normal.” I asked if we could switch rooms, but the request was brushed off. They just told us to wait — that it would eventually cool down.
By then it was already 2:00 AM. Both of us were completely exhausted and had no energy left to argue. We tried to sleep. But at 8:30 AM, I woke up drenched in sweat — the room still hadn’t cooled down.
Honestly, I’m heartbroken by this experience. This day was supposed to be one of the most memorable and romantic nights of our lives. And now, while we will remember it, it’s for the wrong reasons. I never imagined that a stay at a Grand Hyatt, in a room I paid extra for (with Club Access and “Deluxe” in the name), would turn out to be so disappointing.
I didn’t come here expecting perfection. But I did expect basic comfort, and at the very least, a response from staff that showed they understood how important this stay was for us. Sadly, that didn’t happen.

AAsianroy¿Fue este el mejor hotel de Kunming? Es muy posible. Hay alojamientos muy buenos en la ciudad, pero el personal y el desayuno fueron excepcionales, tanto que no me alojaría en ningún otro sitio la próxima vez que vuelva.
El personal de recepción fue increíble y nos ayudó con el transporte, restaurantes y nos recomendó lugares para ver, hacer y comer. Hicieron que fuera súper divertido e inolvidable.
La habitación era maravillosa y las camas también muy cómodas. El hotel está situado en una pequeña zona comercial, así que puedes salir a pasear y comer de todo, o ir al cine o a los juegos electrónicos.
El desayuno… sin duda, pídelo. Las chicas de la cocina preparan un festín cada mañana y todo estaba fresco, delicioso y el café estaba increíble.
Este lugar también tiene un salón de té increíble y es súper instagrameable, si te gusta ese tipo de cosas.
Recomiendo encarecidamente este Z Hotels.

MMuszsWill start woth the positives. Amazing location, most of the staff were very kind and helpful, the gardens are fantastic and the play area is great when waiting between outings, the room was spacious enough for a family of 4.
Unfortunately the hotel left a sour taste though. During checking the reception staff decided to stop communication in English and instead to speak chinese to my partner although she had nothing to do with the trip organising and proceeded to ignore my questions until my wife asked again in chinese. We were not told any of the usual check in information such as WiFi, breakfast times, facilities, etc.
Our room wasn't ready at 2:30pm as the previous tenants just checked out, told to wait 40 minutes. Waited an hour and a half, no check ups, no apology.
We tried to get a late lunch at the market (all day dining) it is infact not all day, it's only breakfast and dinner.
We got to the room, it had ***** hair and blood in the toilet. Broken electrical outlet with the facade falling off (very dangerous for a family room) and water damage on the wall. The cleaners did do an amazing job in the following days.
Breakfast and dinner and the market had undercooked meat causing myself and my wife to get food poisoning and spend the next 24 hours stuck in the room being sick.
The children's play areas floor it broken with no warning and my child tripped and hurt her self.
We have stayed at many intercontinental hotels and not experienced staff this before, especially from receptionist. Luckily the rest of the staff were amazing and the general facilities were ok. We hope it was just a bad day for them and we will be staying at intercontinental again for the next leg of our trip in xishuangbanna.

I want to especially thank Sam who went above and beyond for us making sure we had everything we needed and helping us book everything from meals to tours in the area. I was there with my wife and kids and the family facilities were superb. A great pool with a kids area (slide and all) , jacuzzis on the side as well. There was also a kids club so the little ones always had something to do. The hotel really had a view on a lake and forest island, highly recommend for a weekend getaway from the cities.

UUsuario anónimoEl hotel es bueno, el ambiente es tranquilo en medio del ajetreo y el bullicio y es un pequeño parque industrial de moda. La actitud de servicio del hotel es muy buena y todo está disponible. No está lejos de atracciones populares. Está Joy City al sur, Golden Horse y Jade Rooster están a poca distancia al norte. También hay un automóvil eléctrico compartido en Kunming, lo cual es una pequeña sorpresa, y el alcance de inmediatamente se vuelve mucho más grande. El único pequeño fallo es que hay que mejorar los detalles de limpieza, hay acumulación de polvo en las esquinas de la pared que evidentemente no se limpió bien, hay grandes manchas de moho en la parte inferior de la cortina del baño, lo cual es una lástima.

HHannah20180A poca distancia a pie de Green Lake, frente a un famoso restaurante de especialidades locales y a unos 30 minutos a pie de un restaurante de comida occidental llamado Salvador's. La habitación era realmente cómoda. Los empleados fueron de mucha ayuda. El desayuno del hotel fue muy bueno. Por la noche, el bar y el restaurante del hotel no abren. Proporcionarán algunas bebidas, pero muchas de las bebidas del menú y ninguna comida se pueden pedir. Como hay muchos restaurantes alrededor, no es un problema, sino algo a tener en cuenta. El gimnasio estaba bien equipado y había lavandería de autoservicio gratuita disponible. En general, un hotel muy bonito en una buena ubicación.

Pasé la Nochevieja con amigos de todo el mundo en el albergue juvenil. Está muy cerca del mercado, así que puedo comprar algunos ingredientes y especialidades para llevar a casa. Era un día de nieve poco común en Kunming, así que preparé empanadillas con mis amigos y organicé un evento. En resumen, es muy cálido y recomiendo a todo el mundo que se aloje aquí.

UUsuario anónimoProbablemente sea el bar de albergue juvenil más antiguo de Kunming. La ubicación es inmejorable. El Golden Horse y Jade Rooster están justo en la puerta, y la calle Nanqiang está a tres minutos a pie. Hay varios puestos de joyería, café y barman. el ambiente está lleno de a**ósfera. No se preocupe, incluso si tiene un vuelo temprano, está a solo diez minutos a pie de la estación de salida de Airport Line. Aunque es un albergue juvenil, la ropa de cama no está nada descuidada y vale la pena recomendarlo.

UUsuario anónimoLet's start with the room and the location. Everything perfect. Nice and clean building and the rooms are really nice.
I've been staying at this hotel every year since many years ago and unfortunately I've see the quality of the service getting worse and worse. This time it was the worst.
Let me explain. First of all at the check-in counter the staff couldn't really speak English. Maybe I was unlucky, I don't know, but not a great start for an expensive international 5* hotel that it's not cheap.
This hotel was very famous for having one if not THE best breakfast buffet in all Kunming. Now it was just a sad shadow of what it used to be. There's a small room called ”cheese room” where it used to be filled with cheese and cold cuts. Now the room is empty, just filled with decorations and two lonely plates with salami. The rest of the breakfast used to have international dishes and I'm not exaggerating when I say that it was a feast. The morning I stayed it was pretty much all Chinese food, and the quality was bad too. Clearly not fresh and reheated for I don't know how many times. The staff didn't even come to ask which coffee I wanted when I arrived, something that has never happened in my previous stays.
The Afternoon Tea and Apero Chic snacks available at the millesime club also has gotten worse. They don't replenish the dishes after they are finished and there aren't really that many dishes. Used to be much better a few years ago.
Unfortunately I've seen this trend also in the previous years but this years is the worse.
I'm used to staying in cheap Chinese hostels and I can easily adjust to any kind of accomodations but if you pay for a 5* hotel then you expect 5* service.
Sad because everything else is really good.
