We had stayed there a few months prior. Expensive but location is good, about 15 minute walk from Spanish steps. Bathrooms have one sink with absolutely no space to place your toiletries. So not easy to use. This time, we were reserved for one night in Rome. We arrived early at 10:30 AM and left our luggage until the room was ready. Upon returning to check in at about 5:30, we go to our room to find out it is 28* (82.5 F) - see photo. We thought someone simply forgot to turn on the air. So we did and waited for it to cool down. An hour later, at 6:30, the room was 29* (84 F)! - see photo. as We had to leave for dinner reservations with friends but first went to the front desk. When we informed the responsible person at the front desk, Valeria, we were told they had had maintenance there earlier in the day to fix a ventilation problem in several rooms. This was not mentioned to us at any point earlier. We told her we cannot sleep in that heat. Her reply was that they cannot get maintenance back to try to fix it. They cannot move us to another room. They would instead have the bell boy (!!!) look into it. We asked to be informed even though we would be at dinner. We were contacted at 9:30 PM while having dinner to be told they did check and maybe it improved but it will still be hot. We returned later in the evening. Room still at 29* (84 F). The Night Shift person at the reception said he was aware, but of course could not do anything. He said the only thing he could offer was to move us to their sister property at the center of Rome. Why nobody had suggested this at 6:30 PM was a mystery. It was now 11:30 PM. We would have had to pack and arrange or wait for a transport, check into another hotel, and unpack again. We estimated we would likely end up sleeping at about 2 AM. Not a good solution. They had put a fan in the room. However, it was dirty (see photo), and when we turned it on there was a smell. Having been met with a series of “can’t do anything” we had no hope the reception attendant would be able to generate another, cleaner fan. We ended up opening the window instead. Unfortunately, the hotel gives onto a very busy, very noisy boulevard. So we did not sleep a wink. It was either heat or noise. We were exhausted the next morning. Valeria was back at reception the next morning at check out. She said she checked with her superiors and they would give us a discount. They still charged us about 300 Euros! She acknowledged the situation was mishandled, that we should have: a) been told there was a problem when we checked in; b) offered the option to be moved to the sister property earlier when it was feasible. However, they would still charge us. But she would speak to her superiors and email us. I received an email the next day: they are charging about 300 Euros. I called. Spoke to Georgia, the hotel manager. Her attitude was that they have expenses. So they need to charge us. It was clear that there was no consideration for the

El hotel es muy agradable, muy pequeño, muy agradable. El sentimiento de que está en una antigua propiedad familiar, no en un hotel. We stayed at the Hotel de Russie in Rome in January and it met all of our hopes and expectations, and then some. We had a spacious, beautiful suite; the service was phenomenal, with the hotel having set up a private tour of the Vatican, as well as cooking class for us. The tour guide was great, as was the cooking class. The breakfast each morning was wonderful. But the most memorable part of the hotel was that Mario, who managed breakfast while we there there on this trip, recognized and remembered me from 5 years earlier, when I had met a colleague and my daughter at the bar for drinks (even though we were not staying there). The surroundings and service were outstanding, but it was the sense of having a friend at the hotel which stays with us. Thanks to the hotel staff, and to Mario!

No muy lejos del Castillo del Ángel y del Vaticano. También hay algunos pequeños supermercados y grandes supermercados alrededor, que pueden satisfacer necesidades temporales. La ubicación del hotel es muy buena, justo al lado de la Plaza de España, los alrededores son muy animados y es muy conveniente para ir a varios lugares de interés. Abriendo la ventana está la tienda de postres rojos netos, no puedo esperar para comprar helado y tiramisú. Está a unos tres o cuatro kilómetros del Coliseo y el Vaticano. Cartier, HERMES, MONCLER, JIMMY CHOO, GUCCI y otras tiendas especializadas están a poca distancia. El restaurante de la calle de al lado es auténtico. El hotel es pequeño pero exquisito. El vestíbulo del hotel es de estilo típico italiano. El restaurante está en la planta baja y se pueden cocinar a fuego lento lonchas de jamón fresco, salami, cruasanes recién hechos y fruta. Servicio cálido y atento.

We enjoyed a 3 night stay at Rose Palace. The front desk gave us tired travelers a warm welcome that made us relax immediately. Our room overlooked the back of the American Embassy with guards stationed outside 24/7 so it was definitely safe. The hotel is a little off the beaten path from the usual touristy spots in Rome but in a very quiet area. The room was very clean. We had 3 in our room and the 3rd person had to sleep on a full size pull out couch. It was comfy for a pull out (you couldn’t feel the bar under the mattress) but unless you put up the bed every day the only place to sit were the beds. It had a small fridge and the bathroom was updated but limited on counter space around the sink. The buffet breakfast was geared toward a variety of tastes. Scrambled eggs, a variety of pastries, orange juice, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, cheese, meat, etc. When the weather was nice we enjoyed sitting outside in the garden. There is a tiny grocery store called Co-op around the corner where you can buy the basics. Also on the next block is an ATM in the alcove of the bank entrance that seemed secure to use. Reading older reviews we thought there was a restaurant in the hotel serving dinner but it turned out to just be a small bar. So we walked a couple of blocks north and ate at Cesarina and enjoyed a good meal and friendly staff. There were a lot of other restaurants to pick from in a 2-3 block radius. The ones on Via Vittorio Veneto appeared to be more expensive than the ones northeast of the hotel. There is a taxi stand a couple of blocks away and we used both Uber and inTaxi for rides back to the hotel.

Hotel was convenient for us to attend the tennis Italian Open at Fort Italia. It was close enough to walk but neighborhood was very dirty and unkept, full of young adults at night at local bars, however, never felt unsafe walking around. We had two rooms- one was excellent very spacious and nicely furnished. The other room was in the basement with a terrible smell, ugly view and very tiny. The breakfast was average, nothing special! The customer service was fair. When returning to the states and receiving my credit card statement, it was apparent that I was billed twice for the same charge. I contacted River Chateau and they insisted they did not, therefore, my bank is pursuing the refund. I would not stay here again or recommend it.

The place was extremely cozy and made me feel right at home. The staff was very helpful and kind, while the location was absolutely stunning. I visited with my family and have never been to a better hotel. 10/10 would go again.

Ventajas: aunque muy selectiva, el precio es muy alto. La actitud del servicio de la recepción es muy buena, puede ayudar a llamar un taxi en la recepción, muy conveniente. No es muy próspero alrededor, hay que ir mucho más lejos para comer, el supermercado está a unos kilómetros de distancia. En realidad, es un poco poco, casi hay que ir a la ciudad para empezar a coger un automóvil 10-15 Europa, este costo es un poco alto.
