Overall, the hotel is a decent business hotel with modern rooms, a good breakfast at a nice location in Düsseldorf. You can hear the noises of a major thoroughfare and the heavy trams which use this thoroughfare in the rooms towards the back of building . So, if you are noise sensitive like me, the rooms in the direction of the park should be your preferred choice as they are perfectly quiet. The reason for the low evaluation is the following incident: when I arrived at the hotel in the evening after a long day and a business dinner, I had to find out that my room had already been prepared for the next guest. None of my personal belongings were left in the hotel room! As the reception had correctly confirmed my departure date during check in, there must have been obviously a miscommunication within the hotel about my departure date. I can accept that such miscommunication within a hotel can happen. However, what I cannot accept is the fact that my personal belongings could actually not be found any more in the hotel on that evening after I did inform the reception about my problem. I was provided that night with a toothbrush, a shaving kit and some other bathroom utensils. In the next morning, my belongings still had not surfaced so that I had to go to my business meeting with the same clothes that I had worn the day before. Right before my meeting started at 9:00 in the morning, I received a phone call from the hotel that my personal belongings had been found and were ready to be picked up at the hotel, 15km away from where I was at that point. After an intervention of the corporate travel manager, the belongings were carried to my meeting location by taxi and arrived before noon that day. On the positive side, the reception staff was very friendly and I was actually offered a monetary compensation for the lost clothes (something I declined, as I was certain that the belongings would surface at some point again; as I had to leave for my business meeting at that point in the morning, there would have been no time to buy new clothes. And buying clothes at 08:00 in the morning in Dusseldorf is a difficult undertaking anyhow). However, being “nice” only goes so far for a business hotel. For me, it is plainly unbelievable that the personal belongings of a hotel guest can just be removed from the hotel room and disappear for some time. I have now waited ten days for an official response from the Melia management, but as this response has not been forthcoming, I feel I would like to share this experience. May be there will be a reaction based on this post. If there will be, please do not tell me that you are ”committed to meet and exceed the expectations” of your guests. At least in my case, these expectations were not met.

El hotel está muy cerca de la estación de tren. Está a solo unas decenas de metros de distancia con el equipaje. Es muy conveniente. El agua caliente del hotel es buena. La señora de atención al cliente es muy paciente al responder preguntas. Muy amigable

El hotel está limpio y limpio. No hay mucho desayuno. Hay autobuses y trenes ligeros cerca de la ciudad a 15 minutos a pie del centro de la ciudad

La mayoría de mis colegas también me gustaron el hotel. Las habitaciones no eran muy espaciosas, pero estaban limpias, decoradas con estilo y equipadas con TV, A/C, caja fuerte y secador de pelo. No hay minibar ni café/tea, lo que nos habría gustado cuando llegamos, ya que nos habíamos quedado en tráfico durante horas y estaba bastante sediento. El desayuno era estilo buffet y era muy bueno. Muchas opciones, comida fresca, bien preparada. El hotel está muy bien, pero no se puede hacer nada. Yo era uno de los que tuve suerte de tener sus tarjetas inmediatamente, pero algunos de mis colegas tuvieron que esperar más de media hora, y llamo a esta falta de organización, especialmente porque llegamos mucho más tarde de lo previsto.

Excelente hotel nuevo. A unos 5 minutos caminando a la estación de metro y unos 15 minutos de la estación central. Excelente servicio. Desayuno muy variado y de buena calidad. Tiene estacionamiento de pago, un poco caro, pero hay estacionamiento gratuito limitado en la calle. Las habitaciones son amplias y las camas muy comodas. Fué una excelente estancia para visitar Dusseldorf y Koln. Hay que notar que hay varios Holiday in Express en Dusseldorf, así que se debe aclarar que es el de ”Haupbanhof”

I had a reservation for two people from 29/04/2022 until 02/05/2022. The hotel is not for sure 4*. I would say that it is more 2 or 3 stars. The room was not clean. No shampoos were offered, which is a standard for a 4* hotel. Only the same refillable hand soap in the sink and in the bath. No slippers are offered, which is also a standard for a 4* hotel. Take your slippers if you visit that Hotel because the floor is covered by a carpet which is impossible to be cleaned since everyone, even the housekeepers, enters the room with shoes from outside. The heating was not working, and the room was very cold. We asked why there is not heating, since the feeling temperature outside was 6 degrees (May in Germany) and the night receptionist told us that there is a rule from the municipality of Dusseldorf that shuts down the heating in all hotels in spring. This excuse seemed to me very weird, and I asked the receptionist if this is the case for every hotel in Dusseldorf. The receptionist answered me ”Yes”. Then I asked if all the residents of Hilton Hotel feel the same cold that I was feeling at that time and he smiled and told me that Hilton is Hilton, they do not feel cold and the room there costs 200 euros and not 50-60 euros like in Wyndham. So according to his sayings, the heating is shut to Dusseldorf's hotels according to the price and not generally to all hotels. Good to mention that 4* of Wyndham and 5* stars of Hilton do not justify a cold room. Finally, we asked for a second blanket and all the three nights we were sleeping with 2 blankets in a 4* hotel. The next day (30/04/2022) we had a really bad experience with the same receptionist again. We left the hotel early in the morning and we returned at 10:30 pm. Then, we realized that one of the pillowcases was dirty. We mentioned that to the night receptionist, and he told us that he could do nothing about it and since all the rooms are full we could not give us a new, clean pillowcase. I asked him if they have spare pillowcases and he told me ”No”. How is it possible for a 4* hotel not to have spare pillowcases? I asked him what we should do with the dirty pillowcase and he told me to sleep in that pillow without the pillowcase!! Oh my God this is not a solution!! Thus, in that night we slept two people in one pillow. Really bad experience. What kind of residency is that when the room is cold and two people sleep in one pillow because there are no spare pillowcases? The receptionist was really rude to us, he told me that we pissed him off, he was laughing at me ironically and when I was saying that I could not believe that a 4* hotel provide such bad services he told me that in his opinion the hotel is not really 4* and he wants to start working in a better hotel. Even the receptionist of the hotel admits that Wyndham Garden in Dusseldorf is not really a 4* hotel. He also told us that that we was planning to move us to a bigger and cleaner room as a upgrade but now that we pissed him off

De lo más barato de la cuidad, unos 20 euros por noche Esta al lado de la estación lo que hace que sea muy cómodo para el tema ten si lo vas a utilizar. Del centro está a 10 minutos en patinete. En cuanto a limpieza, todo bien. Habitaciones pequeñas (típico ibis) pero para dormir es perfecto. Dichas con potencia y agua caliente. Tiene un bus a 5 minutos andando que te lleva al aeropuerto por 11 euros

Amigo personal que hablaban todos inglés. La ubicación era segura y muy tranquila, pero todavía central. Muy bonito hotel. Excelente servicio. Situación ideal, habitaciones bien diseñadas y muy cómodas. L. La comida durante nuestra estancia fue muy buena durante la conferencia de turismo médico. Los chefs deben ser elogiados. Aquí hay un compliment específico para el empleado, Zoe. Es una de las directoras de restaurantes. Trabajó en los dos días de nuestro show comercial, ya que se necesitaba tiempo en nuestra conferencia. Ella hizo un excelente trabajo, fue la más útil para mí y otros huéspedes, estaba ocupada todo el día, traducido de inglés a alemán para algunos de los demás empleados de la cocina y se sonrió todo el día preguntando cómo todo el mundo estaba haciendo. El hotel es un buen empleado y una representante para buscar ayuda. Su inglés es perfecto. Excelente actitud y ética laboral. También el cheque del Sr. Koch fue muy bueno. Me ayudó a encontrar un farmacéutico rápido antes de cerrarlo, imprimió las direcciones y me mostró dónde caminar. Hay un hombre más útil que trabaja en el lobby. Le hablé durante mucho tiempo. Él es de Nigeria. Viajo a África a menudo para mi trabajo. El hotel tiene un servicio excepcional, instalaciones y personal. Bien hecho Zoe, el Sr. Koch (no recuerda su primer nombre) y mi amigo nigeriano en el lobby. El lobby del hotel es bastante atractivo. Vale gastar tiempo allí relajado.
