It was absolutely amazing experience. We came from Japan & came to highland area to escape the city busyness. We are astonished about this hidden gem. As we came in we were welcomed with fantastic passion fruit juice. We came after dark & only requested simple white rice & fried vegetable but the chef and her staff made an amazing dinner with simple vegetable & rice. I realized how food prepared with heart can heal our soul. I was kept thinking if people in the world could eat this kind of food with real soul in it, could heal the whole world!! It is so amazing to be surrounded by beautiful trees &sounds of animals. I will definitely come back again. O

This amazing hotel is a hidden gem. We got a great discounted price thru Trip.com and ended up adding dinner. The food was amazing, so much to choose from, and great quality. As a swimmer, I really appreciated the 72 metre pool (U kid you not)!

El hotel es bueno en general, pero caro. Debido a su proximidad a la naturaleza, prepárese para ver monos corriendo por los tejados y elefantes salvajes merodeando por la zona. Las vistas son impresionantes. Desventajas: desayunos deficientes (mucha variedad, pero poco sabrosos) e insectos en la habitación.

La ubicación del hotel es perfecta, pero muy cerca de todo lo que necesitamos. La villa en sí era insensible, bien mantenida y totalmente equipada con todo lo que nos permitía dormir cómodamente y fácilmente. El dueño fue increíblemente amable, útil y siempre se fue de su camino para asegurarse de que teníamos todo lo que necesitamos. Desde ofrecer grandes sugerencias locales a organizar el transporte para nosotros cuando sea necesario, su apoyo hizo nuestro viaje aún más agradable y sin estrés. Recomendación de Hibiscus Villa para cualquiera que busque una estancia relajada y bien hospedada!

El diseño arquitectónico del hotel, una obra maestra de Geoffrey Bawa, es innovador y ambientalmente consciente, combinando el lujo moderno con la belleza del entorno natural. Nuestra habitación cuenta con vistas panorámicas del Reservo Kandalama, lo que nos permite despertarnos hasta las vistas y sonidos tranquilos de la naturaleza. La propiedad cuenta con tres piscinas distintas, incluida una piscina infinita que parece estar combinada con el lago, que ofrece vistas atractivas. El restaurante Kanchana ofrece un amplio bufete con una variedad de platos de Sri Lanka y de la región internacional, al tiempo que ofrece vistas panorámicas del paisaje circundante. Этот отель выбирали прям по месту! Приехали, посмотрели и забронировали 3 номера. Причем через сайт бронировать было дешевле чем в отеле. Когда нам показывали номера в нос ударил очень резкий, специфический запах, я спросила что это такое, мне ответили что это их ароматизаторы и их можно смыть. Я сказала что я с таким запахом жить не смогу и нужно убрать, сказали ок и мы пошли оформляться. Дальше я закинула вещи и ушли плавать, кушать. Вечером вернулась в номер запах был и тут меня осенило что это средство от тараканов!!!!!! Жертвы лежали уже по всему номеру, причем очень большие. На ресепшен меня молча переселили, даже не извинившись. Этот момент конечно очень испортил впечатление. Ведь я сразу озвучила что запах очень резкий. Очень интересно сделан сан узел, он будто бы на улице, в душе сетка и уличный закуток. Выходя из прохладного номера сильный контраст, но это не портит отдых. Мне понравилось оформление одноразовых наборов, они выглядели очень стильно. Вечерами в ресторане играли музыканты (первый день были мантры под музыку, на второй день пел очень шикарно парень. В ресторане можно кушать по меню или ужин/обед шведский стол. Пробовали оба варианта, все очень не плохо. Очень внимательный персонал в кафе, администратор завидя нас уже бежал готовить нам стол. Обслуживали и у бассейна. Территория не большая, но располагает к отдыху. Обезьяны даже прибегали. Подруги ходили в спа, сказали хороший массаж был. Из отеля ездили в Сигирию (минут 20 на машине) и на сафари в парк.

Kalundewa Retreat has an amazing concept and a beautiful, secluded location that really stands out. The surroundings are peaceful and unique, making it a lovely place to disconnect. That said, there are visible signs of wear and tear in certain areas, and some aspects of property maintenance could be improved. However, what truly made up for this was the hotel team — their service was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The food was excellent and clearly prepared with care, which added greatly to the overall experience. With better upkeep, this place has the potential to be exceptional.

This is a nice hotel in a great location in terms of seeing the key sights in the area we wanted to visit (walking distance to Sigiriya and Pidurangala rocks, and a short tuk tuk ride to a night loris walk). It is on a main road so there is a bit of noise from that if you have a room at the front of the hotel like we did - especially some loud music playing early in the morning. I recommend asking for a room as far away from the road as available. The room was more basic than I expected for the price but importantly it was big and clean. I think you are paying the price for a proper hotel in this location. The hotel pool is big and very clean, it is perfect for a dip to cool down - and very scenic, surrounded by lovely trees. We were a bit disappointed with the hotel restaurant menu which has nearly no vegetarian options on it, and similarly the breakfast buffet wasn’t worth it for us to purchase, but there are lots of other restaurants walking distance from the hotel to go to. The staff were helpful especially in putting us in touch with the loris night tour.

Aunque nuestra estancia fue corta, fue bastante agradable gracias a la amabilidad del personal, especialmente del Sr. Ruchira, que nos hizo sentir muy bienvenidos desde el primer momento. El alojamiento estaba limpio y cómodo y la ubicación era excelente. Quedamos impresionados con el cuidado y la atención al detalle, haciendo que la experiencia sea muy positiva. ¡Definitivamente regresaremos!

Este hotel está situado en el bosque, a poca distancia a pie de Sigiriya. Como está en el bosque, esperaba encontrar muchos insectos, pero para mi sorpresa, apenas había ninguno en la habitación y pude alojarme cómodamente. Había reservado dos noches, con la intención de subir a la Roca de Sigiriya por la mañana y relajarme en la piscina por la tarde. Sin embargo, parece que el hotel tiene la política de cortar la electricidad en las habitaciones durante el día. Aunque le pedí a un empleado que volviera a encender la luz y lo hizo, la cortaron de nuevo enseguida. Cuando se corta la luz, la habitación queda completamente a oscuras y ni el wifi ni el aire acondicionado funcionan. Era evidente que, aunque les pidiera que la volvieran a encender, seguiría pasando lo mismo. Sentí que esto solo aumentaría mi estrés, así que decidí cambiar de hotel.
