Amba Yaalu — A Second Home for Soulful Rejuvenation My first stay at Amba Yaalu by Thema Collection was pure discovery. I came out of curiosity—wanting to experience, for the first time, the novelty and energy of a women-led resort. I left enchanted. But this second visit felt different—more intentional, more existential. I rebooked to continue my solo quest for soulful rejuvenation, tranquility, and serenity—the kind of restorative pause that leaves you resettled for the life you love, yet must return to: a job and day-to-day that asks a great deal. From the moment I arrived, I was beautifully cared for. The à la carte dining—with both Western and Sri Lankan options—did more than simply nourish my body. It re-ignited my appetite in the most genuine way. I ate with joy and intention, and somehow it even made me feel lighter and steadier within myself. I also took a private cookery lesson with the chef, and it was unforgettable. I didn’t just leave with a chef’s hat and a printed recipe book—I left with real skills, spice knowledge, and techniques I can bring home. I can already see myself sharing this with my colleagues, my friends, and of course my beloved family. And yes—I even had to tease the chef, because I loved her food so much that this post-menopausal woman ate so well that my cholesterol and blood pressure readings came down…and I genuinely started to develop a “food baby”. 😂😂😂 Finally, to the management and leadership: as an educator in ancient history, I know great women when I meet them—Helen of Troy, Cleopatra… and beyond. At Amba Yaalu, the leadership feels like that same kind of powerful grace. It isn’t only about running a beautiful resort—it’s about building something that matters. To Amba Yaalu and everyone who made this stay feel like a true haven: thank you for giving me a serenity I could feel in my bones—and a renewed strength for what comes next.

We got very nice experience when staying here 1 night. The room was perfect for our family of 3. We just had to pay for the 3rd person's breakfast. The Logde located nearby the Lion rock and village, easy to find and go to the rock or the Gambulla city within 10min. The host Isuru was very welcoming from the start and made sure that we had all that we needed. ( hot water, drinking water, towels, AC, fan). We also really appreciated Mr Alain, a french gentleman resident in the sameplace! The room also had all the necessary for us to not be bitten by insects (scents and more). There was also a room for the driver at a very resonnable price. However we found the wifi a little weak, but else everything was good. In the surroundings it is peaceful, and we woke up to nice little sound of the nature and a well prepared typical srilankan breakfast and fruits! Delicious!

一開始辦理入住的那個前台小屋子讓人有點失落，不過實際入住的房間真的很驚喜，設計很有特色，室內很乾凈，空調電扇應有盡有，最主要是房間空間非常大，很適合帶孩子或者長者住，不會覺得壓抑。住的二樓，入住退房都有小哥幫忙抬行李，不過這也是斯里蘭卡酒店標配吧。總得來説是我們一家人喜歡的風格。也是這一趟斯里蘭卡之旅住的最舒服的一次。

La ubicación del hotel es perfecta, pero muy cerca de todo lo que necesitamos. La villa en sí era insensible, bien mantenida y totalmente equipada con todo lo que nos permitía dormir cómodamente y fácilmente. El dueño fue increíblemente amable, útil y siempre se fue de su camino para asegurarse de que teníamos todo lo que necesitamos. Desde ofrecer grandes sugerencias locales a organizar el transporte para nosotros cuando sea necesario, su apoyo hizo nuestro viaje aún más agradable y sin estrés. Recomendación de Hibiscus Villa para cualquiera que busque una estancia relajada y bien hospedada!

El hotel es bueno en general, pero caro. Debido a su proximidad a la naturaleza, prepárese para ver monos corriendo por los tejados y elefantes salvajes merodeando por la zona. Las vistas son impresionantes. Desventajas: desayunos deficientes (mucha variedad, pero poco sabrosos) e insectos en la habitación.

Волшебное место. Приветливый персонал. Управляющий все время спрашивал нравится ли нам здесь и как у нас дела. Нам очень понравилось. Завтраки обычные. В номерах халат и тапочки, вкусная косметика, зубные щетки есть, все мебели из натурального дерева.Бассейн работают до 19.30. В пешей доступности вход на гору Сигирья и в пешей доступности смотровая на гору Пидарунгала. Рядом кафе, есть мини магазинчики, работают до 21-22 вечера. В отзывах пишут, что проблема с электричеством, да действительно она есть, но не весь день и это не отель, а общая проблема острова и страны в целом, нехватка энергоносителей. Это один из отелей сети Ekho, мы жили рядом в Бентоте, нам он тоже понравился.

Sana y su familia ofrecen una estupenda estancia familiar en medio de la selva de Sigiriya, un alojamiento único rodeado de una naturaleza increíble, con la bondad y el sentimiento balsamico de todos los elementos que rodean. Una experiencia inolvidable que mantendré en mi corazón durante los años venideros. Abbiamo pernottato qui due notti per poter godere delle due attrazioni principali della zona. I ragazzi sono molto disponibili ed il responsabile è un giovane simpatico che ci sa fare! La posizione è molto tranquilla anche se non molto lontano dai locali. Camera buona e anche la colazione servita all'ultimo sulla terrazza che guarda sulla rocca. Di notte la strada sterrata è completamente buia e vi sconsiglio di andarci a piedi meglio se con una macchina o un tuktuk.

En primer lugar, como viajero solo, los precios son bastante altos por habitación por noche! Pero por lo tanto todo lo demás está lejos después de visitar el león intenté darle un intento. El hotel está muy bien situado, pero el personal de limpieza no rellena a menudo jabón de baño, toallas y tejido. Estancia estupenda, aunque solo fue una noche. El personal fue muy amable y servicial. La cama era grande y cómoda y el aire acondicionado era fantástico. Muy cerca de la roca, que es la razón por la que hay que ir.
