It was absolutely amazing experience. We came from Japan & came to highland area to escape the city busyness. We are astonished about this hidden gem. As we came in we were welcomed with fantastic passion fruit juice. We came after dark & only requested simple white rice & fried vegetable but the chef and her staff made an amazing dinner with simple vegetable & rice. I realized how food prepared with heart can heal our soul. I was kept thinking if people in the world could eat this kind of food with real soul in it, could heal the whole world!! It is so amazing to be surrounded by beautiful trees &sounds of animals. I will definitely come back again. O

Amba Yaalu — A Second Home for Soulful Rejuvenation My first stay at Amba Yaalu by Thema Collection was pure discovery. I came out of curiosity—wanting to experience, for the first time, the novelty and energy of a women-led resort. I left enchanted. But this second visit felt different—more intentional, more existential. I rebooked to continue my solo quest for soulful rejuvenation, tranquility, and serenity—the kind of restorative pause that leaves you resettled for the life you love, yet must return to: a job and day-to-day that asks a great deal. From the moment I arrived, I was beautifully cared for. The à la carte dining—with both Western and Sri Lankan options—did more than simply nourish my body. It re-ignited my appetite in the most genuine way. I ate with joy and intention, and somehow it even made me feel lighter and steadier within myself. I also took a private cookery lesson with the chef, and it was unforgettable. I didn’t just leave with a chef’s hat and a printed recipe book—I left with real skills, spice knowledge, and techniques I can bring home. I can already see myself sharing this with my colleagues, my friends, and of course my beloved family. And yes—I even had to tease the chef, because I loved her food so much that this post-menopausal woman ate so well that my cholesterol and blood pressure readings came down…and I genuinely started to develop a “food baby”. 😂😂😂 Finally, to the management and leadership: as an educator in ancient history, I know great women when I meet them—Helen of Troy, Cleopatra… and beyond. At Amba Yaalu, the leadership feels like that same kind of powerful grace. It isn’t only about running a beautiful resort—it’s about building something that matters. To Amba Yaalu and everyone who made this stay feel like a true haven: thank you for giving me a serenity I could feel in my bones—and a renewed strength for what comes next.

We got very nice experience when staying here 1 night. The room was perfect for our family of 3. We just had to pay for the 3rd person's breakfast. The Logde located nearby the Lion rock and village, easy to find and go to the rock or the Gambulla city within 10min. The host Isuru was very welcoming from the start and made sure that we had all that we needed. ( hot water, drinking water, towels, AC, fan). We also really appreciated Mr Alain, a french gentleman resident in the sameplace! The room also had all the necessary for us to not be bitten by insects (scents and more). There was also a room for the driver at a very resonnable price. However we found the wifi a little weak, but else everything was good. In the surroundings it is peaceful, and we woke up to nice little sound of the nature and a well prepared typical srilankan breakfast and fruits! Delicious!

We had an amazing experience staying at Hibiscus Villa. The location was perfect—peaceful yet conveniently close to everything we needed. The villa itself was spotless, well-maintained, and fully equipped with everything to make our stay comfortable and easy. What truly made the experience exceptional was the owner. He was incredibly friendly, helpful, and always went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. From offering great local suggestions to organizing transport for us whenever required, his support made our trip even more enjoyable and stress-free. Highly recommend Hibiscus Villa for anyone looking for a relaxing and well-hosted stay!

Amazing , strong pressure shower ! Beautiful rooom window . Lovely staff very accommodating! He picked me up and dropped me at Pidurangala Rock. Then dropped me at the bus station for no charge. I would stay here again . So helpful

El hotel es un buen hotel con una habitación espacial y hermosa, con un sabor refrescante y una piscina en el suelo, con un jacuzzi con agua caliente.  Minús del hotel: El taxi del centro de la ciudad es tan barato como para recogerme x2. El taxi del hotel es 3 veces más caro. No hay tiendas ni restaurantes cerca del hotel, así que dentro de los precios del hotel para comida x3, También después de las 6:00 es peligroso estar fuera porque los elefantes están caminando por ahí. En 7 años de viaje, este es el primer hotel que no tenía un baño, pantalones de baño, toallas y pasta dental en la habitación. En el hotel, el hotel está en una zona de la ciudad, donde se encuentra el centro de la ciudad. El hotel está muy bien situado, y el hotel está muy bien situado, y el hotel está muy bien situado. No fue debido a la llegada de nuevos clientes, ya que el gerente ofreció ampliar nuestra estancia a un precio. En general, el hotel no es malo, pero el servicio y la flexibilidad del personal, así como el enfoque individual a los clientes, no corresponden al nivel de premio y requiere mejoras.

En primer lugar, el servicio de Bagdea, Jaathu, Kishaulya y la joven camarera (olvidé su nombre, disculpen) hizo que mi estancia fuera cálida y muy agradable. Todos fueron muy amables. Cuando llegué tarde al hotel y ya estaba oscuro, Kishaulya me envió un mensaje para preguntar. Eso me tranquilizó. No disfruté mucho del desayuno buffet, pero en la cena, disfruté de una buena comida a la carta. Sigiriya es un pueblo pequeño y bastante autosuficiente. Aparte de la piscina, no hay mucho entretenimiento en el hotel, aunque hubo un espectáculo cultural y un cantante de pop las dos noches que estuve allí. Hay que apreciar el aspecto ecológico de la zona de Sigiriya. Así que si buscan actividades energéticas, este no es el lugar para ustedes. ¡A menos que consideren escalar la Roca del León como una actividad importante! Mi habitación era bonita y espaciosa, aunque hubiera preferido una cama doble en lugar de dos individuales. En mi segundo día, salí del hotel a almorzar y colgué el cartel para que limpiaran mi habitación. Al regresar, me sorprendió gratamente que alguien se hubiera dado cuenta y lo hubiera hecho en el poco tiempo que estuve fuera. Así que comprobé que me atendieron muy bien.

Un lugar mágico. Personal amable. El gerente nos preguntaba constantemente si lo estábamos disfrutando y cómo estábamos. Nos encantó. Los desayunos son estándar. Las habitaciones cuentan con albornoces y zapatillas, artículos de tocador de calidad, cepillos de dientes y todos los muebles son de madera natural. La piscina está abierta hasta las 19:30. La entrada al Monte Sigiriya y el mirador del Monte Pidarungala están a poca distancia a pie. Hay cafeterías y minimercados cerca, abiertos hasta las 21:00 o 22:00. Las reseñas mencionan problemas de electricidad, y sí, los hay, pero no todo el día, y no es culpa del hotel, sino un problema general de la isla y del país en general: escasez de electricidad. Este es uno de los hoteles Ekho; nos alojamos cerca, en Bentota, y también nos gustó.

Abbiamo pernottato qui due notti per poter godere delle due attrazioni principali della zona. I ragazzi sono molto disponibili ed il responsabile è un giovane simpatico che ci sa fare! La posizione è molto tranquilla anche se non molto lontano dai locali. Camera buona e anche la colazione servita all'ultimo sulla terrazza che guarda sulla rocca. Di notte la strada sterrata è completamente buia e vi sconsiglio di andarci a piedi meglio se con una macchina o un tuktuk.

Estancia estupenda, aunque solo fue una noche. El personal fue muy amable y servicial. La cama era grande y cómoda y el aire acondicionado era fantástico. Muy cerca de la roca, que es la razón por la que hay que ir.
