Todo el personal fue muy amable y servicial. El interruptor automático saltó por la noche, pero lo solucionaron sin mostrar ningún problema, lo cual agradecí mucho. Fue genial que la playa estuviera a poca distancia a pie y que hubiera un supermercado ABC Store dentro del edificio.

A pocos minutos a pie de la playa de Waikiki, solo ofrecen servicio de aparcacoches, no hay aparcamiento propio. En las inmediaciones encontrará una gran variedad de restaurantes.

1) The escalator leading from the lobby to the mezzanine level was out of order. Given the makeshift barrier on the mezzanine level, it looked like the escalator had been out of commission for some time. Quite a shame from a convenience standpoint. 2) I had checked into the hotel after midnight because of a flight delay so I was pretty exhausted and fell asleep quickly after taking a shower, brushing my teeth, etc. I woke up in the middle of my first night's stay noticing a foul odor. After walking around the room and initially thinking it was coming from the A/C vent, I pinpointed the origin of the bad smell to the linens: the pillowcases, sheets, blanket. It smelled like a dirty wet sponge or clothes that never dried completely but were put back in the dresser drawer. I pulled all of the linens off the bed and left a note for housekeeping to replace them because of a foul odor. They did and it was fine the rest of my stay, but the point is I never should have had to do that. 3) Upon returning from my uncle's funeral Saturday night, to my dismay I found 20-30 cars that had been double-parked by the valets in the hotel parking lot. After circling the lot several times in the hopes of catching someone leaving but having no success, I decided to look into valet parking, figuring that since I was a hotel guest they would have something worked out. When the valet told me the valet fee was $49 even for hotel guests I was flabbergasted and declined. He instructed me to go back to the parking garage and speak to the parking attendant to ask about my parking options. When I got there, the parking attendant initially refused to come out of his booth to help me so I had to enter the garage, go all the way around to the exit and talk to him so that he didn't have to leave his booth. He pointed at a white car parked outside and told me to look for parking ”around there.” I asked him if that was assigned to the hotel, because I did not want to wake up tomorrow morning to discover that my rental car had been towed or impounded. He did not convince me that this was not a possibility so I parked the car where he instructed me to, took photos of the area, and went to the hotel registration desk to look further into the parking situation. The signage was also not clear. When I got to the registration desk, I was helped by an employee who seemed to have a French accent. He was definitely European, with very short hair. I explained what had just happened with the parking and he told me that the hotel did not have ”jurisdiction” over that parking area and he could not guarantee me that my car would not be towed. There happened to be another employee, a local guy, just finishing a transaction with a hotel guest so I moved one station over and asked him the same question. He clarified the situation and explained that that outside parking area (in the middle, under the ramp) was overflow parking for the hotel, and, as long as my hotel parking pass was clearly displayed, my car could remain there for the duration of my stay.

We stayed at this hotel from October 29 to November 4. Overall, the staff was polite and the room was cleaned daily with fresh towels provided — which we appreciated. However, several issues significantly affected our experience. First, the accessible bathroom we specifically booked did not match the photos. There was no handheld shower head, which was important for us. Second, the mirror in the hallway was noticeably dirty upon arrival, with visible streaks from a wet cloth — quite unpleasant for a hotel of this level. I also reported that the faucet in the sink splashed water everywhere, soaking the countertop and the floor. I was told the issue would be checked, but nothing was fixed throughout our stay. The two-faucet system used to regulate water in the bathroom was also very inconvenient, and we consistently had problems with unstable hot water pressure. A separate major issue was the parking. I prepaid and reserved parking for 5 days, but on the second evening all the spots were already taken, and I was simply instructed to park in a different building nearby. This was extremely inconvenient — having to carry things from the 3rd floor of another parking structure and waste additional time. It turned out that even if you pay in advance, your parking spot is not guaranteed — anyone from outside can take it. So you pay, but end up without the service you were promised. Overall, the staff tried to provide good service, but the organizational issues, maintenance problems, and poorly managed parking system seriously reduced our comfort. Unfortunately, after this experience, I cannot recommend this hotel.

Outstanding service from the moment we arrived at the front entrance. Friendly, knowledgeable staff were able to answer all of our questions and accommodate all our requests. Room was nicely appointed and generously sized with ample room in the walk-in closet for our 8 full-sized checked bags (we stopped through HI in the middle of a move 🙂). Had two double beds and a hid-a-bed which was perfect for our family of four. The small refrigerator in the room was just the right size for water bottles and some snack/breakfast food we picked up at the Target just across the street. Appreciated being able to check out fresh beach towels pool-side each day. That saved a lot of suitcase space. The balcony was just large enough for a small table and two chairs to catch a great view of the ocean. The hotel is located between prime beachfront on the one side and the International Marketplace on the other, everything you need is within easy walking distance. The kids enjoyed the beginner surf lessons available beachside through Faith Surf Academy, and being able to rent a board to continue surfing over subsequent days. Waves were perfect for beginners and despite there being a fair number of other visitors, there was plenty of room to swim, play, and enjoy the water, though space on the beach itself was a bit tight at times. The one shortcoming we experienced was there not being any self-service laundry on-site. It seems there used to be, but it's unavailable with the current renovation project underway, and I'm unsure whether they intend for it to be part of the updated plan or not. Paid laundry service is available, but we opted to walk down the road to a laundromat. All in all, the whole family enjoyed our time at Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort and would recommend it.

Acabas de llegar al hotel y buscabas aparcamiento, solo para descubrir que cuesta cincuenta dólares al día. Para un amo de casa o una pareja que viaja junta, no crees que esos cincuenta dólares valgan la pena porque no está lo suficientemente cerca del hotel. Entonces corres a recepción, pero no encuentran tu reserva porque los tres hoteles están combinados. Necesitas tomar un tren a 1 km/h para llegar a recepción. Entonces, tras una larga espera, un grito de ”¡aloha!” te llama la atención. Tras tus insistentes peticiones, el hotel finalmente accedió a tu solicitud de salida a las 11:00 y te ascendió a una habitación con vistas al mar. Efectivamente, al día siguiente te despertó el canto de los pájaros, y el correr y el llanto de los niños te hicieron sentir como si no estuvieras de vacaciones. Bueno, no me lo puedo inventar más. Es un buen hotel.

Cuando reservé, la reforma estaba prevista para más adelante. Pero no se hagan muchas ilusiones con los hoteles estadounidenses. Que limpien cada dos días es una cosa, pero cuando volví, ¡solo habían hecho la cama, no habían cambiado las sábanas! Con este calor, tuve que dormir con las mismas sábanas cuatro noches. ¡¿Para qué dejar propina?! Y la limpieza ni siquiera fue muy exhaustiva. Hay bastantes restaurantes cerca, pero compré sobre todo sándwiches en la tienda ABC del hotel por el calor. El desayuno era en el restaurante del hotel, pero la selección era, como siempre, limitada, y de todas formas no pude comer mucho. Si planean hacer un tour en helicóptero, un crucero nocturno para ver mantarrayas o visitar un volcán, es mejor alojarse un poco más al norte de la ruta; los hoteles cerca de Queen's Market Place están más cerca.

Even though we only stayed one night at Castle Hilo Hawaiian Hotel before an early flight, the experience was lovely and a clear standout compared to other nearby options. Our room was more affordable than the one we had at SCP, yet it was significantly more spacious, clean, and comfortable. We even had a private balcony, which added a really nice touch. The setting was serene, surrounded by beautiful banyan trees and with easy access to walking paths along the ocean. The atmosphere was peaceful and welcoming! perfect for a restful night before travel. I wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy more of what the property had to offer. Highly recommend it if you're staying in Hilo.
