Excellent service, great location!
We were in Hualien for one night and the hotel met every expectation. A decent, clean place, near the Hualien train station, providing great value for money. They may not provide breakfast but do serve free snacks n tea at reception.

Por el precio, es una buena opción. Si solo vas a lavarte y dormir, no debería ser un problema. Hay una tienda de conveniencia, una farmacia y un RT-Mart cerca, lo que facilita las compras. Sin embargo, el espacio privado es reducido, con solo espacio para una cama, así que las demás actividades se limitan al salón del segundo piso.

The room is clean and spacious, facilities are great, and the staff are super friendly.
The hotel is a bit of a walk from the train station though.
Since it’s converted from an old commercial building, you have to climb about 10 steps through the mall to get up to the hotel, not the most convenient if you’ve got big luggage. Also, at night some of the mall doors get locked, so you might need to ask security how to get in, which is a bit of a hassle.
Overall, it’s more suitable for business travelers than leisure ones.

Es la primera vez que me alojo aquí. El alojamiento es sencillo y limpio, con transporte conveniente. El Segundo Mercado de Taichung está cerca y ofrece una gran variedad de comida deliciosa. El Templo Ma Wan Chun de Taichung también está cerca para recibir bendiciones. Hay un molinillo de café en el vestíbulo del primer piso (puedes usar las tazas de tu habitación). Hay dispensadores de agua en cada piso. Sin embargo, el aislamiento acústico no es muy bueno; había ruido constante de coches y de agua por la noche 😆. El alojamiento entre semana es muy económico (menos de NT$1000), pero se duplica los viernes y sábados. Reservé dos noches consecutivas (viernes y sábado) a través de Trip hace dos semanas, y cuando revisé el precio la noche del check-in, ¡me sorprendió descubrir que reservar esas dos noches por separado era NT$800 más barato! ¿No debería ser aún más barato una estancia de dos noches consecutivas?

We wished we stayed longer. Easy check-in at this really cool Sherlock Holmes SteamPunk themed Hotel. It has a small bar and comfortable lounge area to chill if you don’t want to stay in your room.
Very comfortable beds, very quiet at night, great hi pressure shower, amazing wi-fi, especially good for digital nomads. The hotel is about 1.7 k’s from the train station but easily walkable. It’s surrounded by restaurant’s, and coffee shops. We highly recommend and would definitely stay here again.

The Hostel itself was good but a Little far from the City Center. Just close to the railway Station. They also dont speak Englisch but about my room and everything else I cannot complain.

Las camas eran cómodas y había suficientes inodoros, duchas y lavabos, aunque si el hotel estuviera lleno, probablemente habría que hacer un poco de cola. Recomiendo que haya una máquina de agua en cada zona, ya que actualmente solo hay una en la recepción, y cuando hay mucha gente, no es suficiente y hay que esperar mucho tiempo a que la máquina vuelva a llenar el depósito. Además, no hay agua embotellada en las habitaciones. La lavadora es una nueva máquina de carga frontal que lava y seca, y su limpieza es excelente, además de haber suficientes unidades, aunque no se proporciona detergente. Sin embargo, el horario de uso de la lavadora es limitado, solo de 9 a. m. a 10 p. m. Entiendo que no se pueda usar después de las 10 p. m., pero ¿sería posible que empezara a las 8 a. m.?

La ubicación es conveniente, hay estacionamiento, la habitación es sencilla y cómoda y el ambiente es genial. El jefe respondió rápidamente y dio instrucciones claras sobre las reglas de uso. Me alojaré aquí de nuevo la próxima vez que tenga oportunidad.

Location seems great for the station. It's about 700m walk down a straight quiet road, but unless you like listening to screeching trains, it's not great. The room isn't soundproofed well enough, and you can hear every southbound train coming in as they start braking right next to the hotel. The first one starts at 4:40am. I normally don't get up before 8am, but I was awake by 5am every day staying here. The hotel sells ear plugs, which seems rude given that they've been free in every other hotel I've stayed in that has a noise problem. And this one definitely has a noise problem.
This place has no elevator, which isn't made clear on the listing. There are no cancellations, and it's only once you've paid and have no way of changing your mind they email you to say there's no lift. Carrying a 23kg suitcase up to the 5th floor isn't fun.
Talking of which, after paying in full you get an email saying that your booking won't be held unless you also complete the registration process at least a day early. For this you need to add them on line just so an AI can respond to stupid premade buttons that take you to a browser inside line. Once you go through the process of registering, you get a QR code, or you would but you can't check in yet because it's too early, and you can't save the link because it's inside line. Clicking on the original link restarts the process again. I wasted an hour on this. When you get a QR code, it changes every 5 minutes, so you need your phone to get in. This means when you go out running you need to carry your phone instead of a small door card like every other hotel. Who knows what happens if your phone runs out of battery, I just you end up sleeping on a bench outside the station.
Everything about the communications from this hotel seems like they want to rip you off. Arrive early? 500 NTD per hour early. Late check out? 500 NTD per hour. Forget to click checkout in line. Same, I guess. Warnings on the front door not to lock it or get another fine (how about don't let the door lock if you don't want it locked?) Extra toiletries? Also charged for, but with a passive aggressive sign saying you're being recorded so don't steal anything. Several other signs about charges for other things that I didn't bother trying to translate.
Also, you're expected to change your shoes with slippers at the front door. OK, but there's no indication that they are clean. My room was a double, but I came down after the first night and the second pair had been taken..when I returned that night, some child sized slippers were there instead, and the next morning adult slippers. No idea if anyone wore my slippers while I was out, or if they'd been cleaned before or after I stayed.
As well as the room not being soundproofed, the bathroom window has no curtain and the bathroom has a glass door. So once you've been woken by the trains, it's hard to get back to sleep as it's light by 6am. And the door to the room has glass panels, covered with black paper, but light shines around all the edges.
The shower door doesn't meet at the side at the bottom, but there's a 1cm gap under the door anyway, so the first time you have a shower you discover you bathmat is soaked through and the extractor fan doesn't do much so it was wet every day afterwards.
Overall, this room is perfect if you're catching an early train or like waking up really early.

CClymene LimThoroughly enjoyed my stay at Sun Palm B&B. Have written this review in English, but we communicated with them in Chinese. We stayed at this B&B during the tourism off-peak season (March).
Service - Amazing. They were very responsive on Line, and quick to reply. They were also helpful with our requests/questions (e.g. fetching service to and fro airport, car rental service, traffic road conditions in Penghu) and were polite. They also gave some advice on what can or cannot be done (e.g. we wanted to cycle around Penghu, but they advised us saying Penghu was too big to travel on a bicycle). The driver was always punctual when picking us up, and when sending us to the airport. In fact, he was already there, with the car ready, minutes before we were supposed to leave for the airport - we didn't even need to remind them. The lady boss was very friendly - when we first arrived, she asked if we were new to Penghu (it was our first time), and she introduced where to explore in Penghu, and what to eat. She also told us that if we wanted to do water activities, we can approach them, and they can make a check with the centres to see if they are open since it was off-peak season for tourist activities. We also had some extra request regarding the check out timing, and she helped us with it too. Before we arrived, they also tested the car we wanted to rent, and upon finding out that it wasn't working as well, they provided us with another car instead - this is certainly good service. They also cleaned up the room upon request, and re-stocked the fridge with drinks.
Food - The breakfast was amazing and fresh (see photos). On the first day we had bread + doughstick + egg with spring onion all in one package. It was delicious. On the second day, we had vermicelli and seafood (e.g. squid, prawns). The seafood was really fresh, and the broth was simple and tasty. Each dish was accompanied by fresh fruits / pastry + drink, which was refreshing.
Room - We got the Starry Honeymoon Room. It was very spacious, the room was clean, the amenities were in good condition, and the overall design was aesthetically pleasing. The heart pillow on the bed was a cute addition, and the round bed was big enough for 2 of us. Above the bed there was a window covered with a retractable screen - you can actually look into the sky while lying on the bed, really interesting.
Location - While this B&B is further away from the main city, we didn't feel that affected as they provided airport transfer services. Also, we felt that it being away from the hustle and bustle from the city was actually advantageous, as the B&B's location had a more relaxed, quiet, holiday vibes, which was what we were looking for. There is a 7-11 around 10 minutes from the B&B, so if you need food etc in the middle of the night, you can get it from there. We rented a car, so travelling to other areas wasn't much of an issue.
Overall, I will recommend this B&B to anyone looking to tour Penghu! Am glad to have chosen this B&B for our first ever trip to Penghu :)

NNguyen Do Nha UyenAfter coming back from Taiwan, I suddenly realized I hadn’t posted any photos or written a review about the adorable wooden cabin our family stayed in at Jiufen. Everyone in my family loved this place so much that I had to jot everything down now that I finally have some free time.
Most people I know usually stay in Taipei longer and just make a day trip to Jiufen without spending the night. As for me—I’ve lived in Hong Kong for quite a while, so compared to Hong Kong, Taipei didn’t leave much of an impression on me in terms of sights or food. The only thing that truly made me want to visit Taiwan was Jiufen — a sparkling little gem between the mountains and the sea 🏮🌿🌊
Jiufen feels like a dreamy fairytale village with its winding narrow alleys, steep stone stairways, and the warm glow of red lanterns everywhere. Walking around felt like stepping into another world, almost like a scene from a manga — especially for anyone who’s watched Spirited Away.

⭐🛖 Review of the wooden cabin called Twilight Forest in Jiufen
Just a 5-minute walk from the Old town, this wooden cabin brings together the warm glow of wood and the peaceful feeling of retreating into nature. It has a unique A-frame design, and at night, when the lights turn on, the whole place becomes incredibly cozy — the golden light shining through the windows and the plants around it create a “hideaway from the world” kind of vibe.
Inside, the space is open, airy, and tastefully decorated in a rustic style. There’s a small terrace with a swing chair hanging straight from the ceiling — sitting there at night, listening to insects and the wind rustling through the leaves, feels genuinely healing 🙃.
🛁🌿 Highlight: The glass-walled bathroom in the garden
This is the standout feature of the cabin. The bathtub is large and comfortable, placed right next to a 180° glass wall looking directly into a lush green garden. Natural daylight pours in, making your daytime bath feel like an outdoor spa surrounded by plants. (There’s also a roller blind if you need privacy)
Jiufen is a tiny village perched on a mountain, and it doesn’t have many hotels that offer spacious, comfortable accommodations. That’s why I was so happy to find this wooden cabin. Our family had the most wonderful two-night stay here.
If I ever return to Taipei, I would definitely book this place again ❤️

Me atendió una mujer con gafas.
Me explicó las cosas despacio y en un inglés fácil de entender, ya que no hablo ni taiwanés, ni chino, ni inglés.
Incluso nos sacó afuera para mostrarme dónde escanear mi tarjeta de acceso al volver a casa tarde por la noche, y me dejó practicar.
También me explicó amablemente, como si me dijera: ”Hazle una foto a este papel del mostrador que tenía información sobre tu estancia en el hotel”.
El hotel estaba limpio y no tuve ningún problema para ajustar la temperatura del aire acondicionado y la ducha.
Podía oír claramente la conversación en la habitación de al lado, y el agua hacía mucho ruido, pero por el precio no fue un problema en absoluto.
Sin duda, volvería a reservar este hotel.

BBob Tang.Esta debería ser la tienda de pellets para mochileros más conveniente en Ximen. Vivo en el cuarto piso. Es muy conveniente y segura. Los bocadillos al otro lado de la calle son baratos y deliciosos. Especialmente el mercado nocturno es muy grande y tiene muchos bocadillos. Hay muchas opciones y muchas tiendas. Casi pierdo.
