Clean, tidy, and generally comfortable stay. The room was quite compact, but there was just enough space to store and open large suitcases, and there are heavy drawers under the bed for storage (no lock provided). The building itself is narrow and compact, with quite a few stairs required to access the kitchen, bathrooms, lounge areas, and some rooms, which may be inconvenient for those with heavy luggage or limited mobility. Our ground-floor room was directly below the shower units, and with thin walls, noise from water running, footsteps, and street traffic (as it’s centrally located on a main road) was noticeable. Light sleepers may find this disruptive. Facilities are good, with two shared kitchens (stovetops, toaster, microwave, kettle, fridge, cutlery, and crockery), indoor and balcony seating areas, and a large lounge (TV plays DVDs only). There are multiple shared unisex bathrooms, including single units and a space with two showers and toilets. This may not suit everyone. Cleaned in the morning but gets dirty by end of day. On a positive, there are plenty of bath mats, liquid soap, and a hair dryer are provided. Laundry is available via QR code payment (around $6 per wash or dry), and on-site parking is offered at $40 per night. Towel available for hire ($4). Staff super friendly.

El hotel está situado en el centro de la ciudad y en el centro de la zona I. El autobús gratuito desde el centro de la zona i-site hasta Nevis Ground está situado justo enfrente del alojamiento. Se recomienda mucho si no tiene un coche en la ciudad.

Ubicado en una calle céntrica, está rodeado de varias tiendas. El mostrador solo está abierto alrededor de las 14:00. Se encuentra a 3 minutos a pie del lago Wanaka y a unos 25 minutos a pie del Árbol Solitario, ideal para un agradable y relajante paseo matutino disfrutando del paisaje natural. Sin embargo, la observación de estrellas por la noche, incluso en el lago cercano, se ve afectada por las luces de la calle. Situado junto a un gran supermercado y a 5 minutos a pie de la zona de food trucks, es conveniente para encontrar comida. El aparcamiento es limitado; si está lleno a su llegada, tendrá que aparcar en un parque cercano, pero tenga en cuenta el horario de pago. La habitación cuenta con un sofá, una mesa de comedor completa con sillas, un bar y una pequeña cocina. Sin embargo, había restos de comida en las ollas, lo que generó dudas sobre la higiene de la vajilla y me hizo dudar en usarla. La ducha fija del baño es incómoda y la habitación es más oscura de lo que parece en las fotos.

It’s a vintage hotel, I’m surprised with the lift which is very old type of lift, the design very pretty and retro. Room is quite spacious for 4 adults. The heater is very powerful and strong. The hotel is located near to the town center and precinct street, just a few minutes of walk can reach.

I had a truly wonderful stay at this retreat. The place itself is absolutely spectacular — very calming, beautifully maintained, and surrounded by breathtaking views. The deck is stunning, and it was the perfect spot to relax and unwind. The owners were exceptionally friendly and went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and looked after throughout my stay. Their hospitality genuinely stood out. The dogs were lovely and added so much warmth to the experience. Breakfast was excellent, and the variety of teas available was out of this world. As a female solo traveller, I felt completely safe, comfortable, and well cared for, which is something I value highly. The atmosphere is peaceful and nurturing — exactly what you want from a retreat. The only minor downside is that it’s a bit far from the shops (around a one-hour walk). However, this was easily managed as Uber is only a 6-minute drive, and the hosts were also kind enough to offer lifts when possible. Overall, an absolutely stunning place, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and memorable stay

The condition of the property upon our arrival was unacceptable, falling well below basic standards of cleanliness, safety, and comfort. Throughout our stay, we encountered multiple significant issues across the property: The dishwasher was completely full of standing, stagnant water upon our arrival, rendering it unusable until cleared. The cookware provided was filthy, with greasy, burnt-on residue on the pans that required scrubbing before use of which there were no cleaning products provided until asked for. There are visible holes in the walls in the home. More concerningly, bathroom light fixtures were loose and visibly hanging/falling out from the ceiling, which presents a genuine safety hazard. The general cleanliness was poor. In the bathrooms, the ceiling and roof lining showed noticeable dirt and grime build-up. The lounge suites are ripped, worn out, and actively falling apart, offering neither aesthetic appeal nor basic comfort. Furthermore, the beds were extremely uncomfortable, severely impacting our ability to sleep throughout the four nights.

Really nice looking room and a very good price performance ratio. And you even get a complimentary drink. Room was nice and warm upon arrival. I didnt really understand the self checkin for a second, cause i didnt know the rooms were directly at the parkinglot, where the whiteboards and the name are written. Really easy and useful for a fast checkin and checkout. I would stay there again.

We stayed the little cabin and the view was amazing! The cabin itself is very cute but we have the day the bed is not very comfortable! Note: there was no microwave or hob so we assume you have to do the cooking on the bbq? Anyway we used the main kitchen so it was fine.

I stayed at the Law Courts Hotel recently, and it was a bit of a mixed experience. The building is very old and hasn’t had much renovation. The bathroom still has those separate hot and cold taps, which are inconvenient, and the carpet looked quite worn and not very clean—it definitely feels like the place could use some updating. That said, the location is fantastic—right in the heart of Dunedin, so it’s super convenient for getting around. It’s also very affordable, which is a big plus if you’re on a budget. Just keep in mind that being so central means it can be noisy; Saturday night, in particular, was hard to sleep through with all the street noise. Overall, if you’re after a budget-friendly place in a great location and don’t mind the quirks of an older hotel, it’s worth considering. But if you’re looking for something more modern and comfortable, you might want to look elsewhere.
