UUsuario invitadoLovely hotel with a great spa and beautiful overall. The restaurant was very good as well, although quite expensive. Our main disappointment was the change to the kids’ pool access policy. It used to include both a morning and afternoon slot, but children are now only allowed in the morning. It definitely gave the impression that the hotel is moving towards discouraging families from visiting the hotel. Unfortunately, the staff attitude reinforced this feeling. We were repeatedly reminded when our child needed to leave the spa, including being stopped well before the end of the allocated time to make sure we were aware of the cut-off. It just didn’t feel particularly welcoming or family-friendly. That said, it is probably a nice choice for couples looking for a quiet, child-free getaway and who are happy with the premium pricing (for example, around £15 for a glass of wine).

UUsuario anónimoWe were offered an upgrade to a suite at a much reduced rate and accepted the offer. The room was huge comfortable and well equipped for a pleasant stay. However the room and bathroom looked as if they hadn't been used for a while. In need of an update and tired it also could have been cleaner. A bit disappointing.
On saying that the rest of the hotel was very clean, comfortable and welcoming. Staff were all helpful and friendly, and attentive. The food was excellent and the menus had a great selection to choose from.
I would definitely visit again, but as the standard rooms are more modern and comfortable I would ask to view any room before agreeing to any update

II CruickshankNice enough hotel good large clean room and bathroom. We didn't eat in the evening but did have an excellant breakfast. A couple of people we were talking to said their breakfast was slow service so we expected that but everything was great.
Slight issue was slowish bar service as only one person working
Played golf on a lovely course which is quite challenging but very enjoyable.
Looking forward to heading there again later in the year

UUsuario invitadoI had a fantastic weekend at the Newcastle arms hotel, it was a welcoming and friendly environment, the staff were friendly enough, Michelle and Lorain went out of there way to make sure we were happy and catered for in every way there such lovely people. I would definitely stay again, the rooms are reasonable priced and it’s a lovely little village, there’s not much to do In the town but it’s lovely for a relaxing trip away, I would recommend to others.

YYoko MizutaniThe hotel is in a great location in the town center, close to Melrose Abbey, a supermarket, and several bus stops, making it very convenient. The room had a bathtub, and there was plenty of hot water, which was a nice bonus. However, the building seems old, and there were creaking noises. When other guests walked down the hallway, the sound echoed into the room, and I could also hear conversations from the neighboring rooms.

UUsuario invitadoLa ubicación es muy grande, la habitación era espaciosa, pero me temo que fue casi una noche insomnio porque el fan de la habitación era demasiado alto (no menos que un hoover que corre con sonidos intermitentes de latido) no sólo en nuestra habitación, sino en la habitación arriba. En la noche delante de la habitación, el ventilador de la habitación se apagaba durante más de 30 minutos en dos ocasiones y era demasiado perturbador con el ruido alto.
El desayuno era bueno, pero no muy bueno.

UUsuario invitadoGorgeous old family estate turned Hotel/Guest House. Spacious and comfortable room. Perfect location to come back to after driving around exploring the Scottish Boarders.
Breakfast service was lacking in its service. Young and inexperienced staff spent too much time standing around doing nothing instead of ensuring the buffet was stocked, used dishes cleared off tables, or even tables set for guests.

Only minor flaw was not being able to order my favourite cocktail from the bar (despite it being stocked with all the ingredients to make it). Will definitely be back.

UUsuario invitadoHabía una gran estancia 4-night en la Tontine. Todo el personal era amigable y muy útil. La comida era deliciosa y había una buena elección. Nuestro lugar favorito estaba en el salón en un cómodo sofá con un cocktail. Espero quedarse de nuevo.
