Lochinver Guesthouse

We booked an overnight stay to attend a show at the local theatre. It was a ten minute walk to Town Centre/ shore so ideally situated in a charming street. A beautiful house full of character, spotlessly clean with excellent hospitality. Breakfast was amazing! A beautiful spacious room with everything we needed for our stay! Would highly recommend!

If you’re looking for somewhere to stay in or around Ayr, then look no further. It’s easy to see why Lochinver is rated the best B&B in town…it has and offers everything! Conveniently situated not far from the town centre on a tree lined avenue, there aren’t that many rooms but it certainly offers quality in abundance. You are assured of a particularly warm welcome from Sinclair and his staff and the service we received was impeccable. Street car parking is available and a permit to be displayed on the windscreen will be provided. Sinclair will also suggest restaurants where lunch/ evening meal can be obtained. The house is beautifully furnished and there is a very comfortable ground floor lounge for use by guests. The bedrooms are amazing! Everything you may need to enhance your stay is provided…fresh coffee, fresh milk daily, still and sparkling water, cookies, tea and hot chocolate. In particular, there is an extremely comfortable bed! In the bathroom with shower, quality toiletries are provided and in the bedroom there is more than ample storage space for clothes etc. Breakfast is a delight! The full breakfast will certainly set you up for the day…all cooked to order and absolutely delicious. There are cereals, preserves, fruit, yoghurts and other items available as a buffet. There’s an endless supply of hot drinks and toast. The service was perfect! The one drawback could be the stairs if guests have mobility problems. We would certainly stay here again if the opportunity arose. Very, very highly recommended.

Immaculate, everything done for the comfort of the guest. Fresh Coffee, milk, still and sparkling water, tea and excellent shortbread and sultana cookies all in the room. This Edwardian house is beautifully furnished and decorated in comfortable period style, front garden, courtyard garden at the back, parking permit included. And a delicious and luxurious breakfast, everything fresh on dishes, no annoying little packets. Highest quality food, excellent service. Sinclair runs the best b&b you could find. In a beautiful tree-lined terrace five minutes walk from the centre of Ayr and from the sea. I would unhesitatingly recommend the Lochinver to everyone.

What a stunning hotel everyone and everything was excellent the room was immaculate the bedding was superior quality the breakfast was tremendous and Sinclair was well informed and so helpful to the guests. I have been in most of the hotels and guest houses in Ayr and this one is by far the best

The beds are super comfy and we had a great nights sleep! We were on the top floor and didn't hear anything. Fabulous! We enjoyed the home made cookies and the real glasses that were in the room. Sinclair was very accommodating as well, he brought us up a wine opener and even offered wine glasses. His suggestion for dinner at Chestnuts was great! Lots of things close by, we walked to the beach and dinner!

Can’t rate this highly enough, accommodation was to an extremely high standard, owners were friendly and helpful, great breakfast and handy spot for walking into Ayr. The area is beautiful and the guesthouse is stunning. The rooms are beyond beautiful. ♥️

Fantastic place to stay, accommodation and host are really good, room and breakfast were excellent. Sinclair and his staff were very helpful and could not do enough to make our stay enjoyable. We stayed one night whilst touring and are able to park our motorcycle securely in the walled garden which had a locked gate. Would definitely recommend.

A beautiful BandB, the breakfast was gorgeous, our room was very comfortable and staff were friendly. There isn’t a car park, but there is plenty of room on the road. Little touches like fresh milk and 2 types of water in the room were impressive.
