A Truly Exceptional Stay at The Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto Our family had a wonderful experience at The Ritz-Carlton Kyoto, and we left with nothing but gratitude and happy memories. From the moment we arrived, the service was flawless and heartfelt — the kind of genuine hospitality that makes a trip feel truly special. A huge thank you to Cecilia and Vinnie from the Guest Experience team, who went above and beyond to make our stay seamless and comfortable. Their warmth, attentiveness, and thoughtful gestures made us feel incredibly welcomed. A very special shout-out to Cecilia, who noticed my daughter’s love for Winnie the Pooh after our visit to Disneyland Resort. She prepared a beautiful card, a sweet message, and even a handmade Pooh origami and placed it in our room. It absolutely made our daughter’s day — such a thoughtful touch we will never forget. We also want to commend Yuki from the restaurant team for his warm and wonderful breakfast service each morning. His kindness and attention to detail set the perfect tone to start our day. The Ritz Kids adventure passport was a delightful surprise — engaging not only for our daughter but also enjoyable for us as parents. And of course, we loved the festive Christmas atmosphere, especially the beautiful Christmas tree and the amazing gingerbread house with the incredible aroma that filled the lobby. The Ritz-Carlton Kyoto truly exceeded our expectations in every way. We felt cared for, welcomed, and genuinely appreciated. We can’t wait to return again. Highly recommended for families and anyone seeking an unforgettable Kyoto stay.

Very convenient, spacious, and modern Airbnb stay. The unit is well-equipped with almost everything you need, including a washing machine, drying rack, cooking utensils, grill stove, coffee machine, and other useful amenities. The space is surprisingly large and very comfortable, especially for families or groups. The location is also great, with a grocery store, restaurants, and other conveniences nearby, making daily needs easily accessible. One thing to note is that there is a cemetery directly behind the property. For guests who are sensitive to this, it may be something to consider before booking. However, if this does not bother you, the stay is otherwise excellent. The only issue we encountered was during check-in. The elderly front desk staff could not communicate in English and was initially unwilling to assist us. Even though our booking was fully paid and confirmed, we had to repeatedly explain the situation before he finally provided the check-in code. It appeared that the information was already available in the system, so the process was more frustrating than necessary. Other than the check-in experience, everything else was great. Overall, a comfortable, spacious, and well-equipped stay that offers excellent value for money.

La ubicación del hotel es buena; los grandes almacenes Takashiyama están justo al cruzar la calle. Es un hotel pequeño y difícil de encontrar. En el vestíbulo de la planta baja, nos harán una simple revisión de documentos. Después, un miembro del personal nos llevará a la recepción del noveno piso para registrarnos. Nos sirvieron una taza de té y dulces mientras esperábamos. Después del registro, otro miembro del personal nos acompañará para dar un recorrido por el hotel y nuestra habitación. La habitación es espaciosa y cuenta con un onsen privado. Aunque la vista de la ciudad es regular, su principal atractivo es el onsen al aire libre. Este onsen privado al aire libre es estupendo y muy cómodo. La nevera de nuestra habitación ofrece muchas bebidas gratuitas, incluyendo vino y cerveza. Inesperadamente, pudimos ver el amanecer desde la habitación. El desayuno japonés es exquisito y bueno. Todo está bien, excepto que el colchón de la cama es demasiado blando para nosotros. La recepción del noveno piso tiene una bonita vista; en esta planta hay dos aguas termales públicas. En esta planta se sirven café, bebidas y helados gratuitos. Es sorprendente que además de la entrada principal del hotel, haya una puerta lateral secreta, sin necesidad de pasar por el mostrador del vestíbulo, como una entrada privada con una sensación de privilegio.

My wife and I booked the Classic Room for 3 nights in April 2025. We thought this was one of the best hotels we stayed at during our trip. From the moment you enter the hotel, you are welcomed by the hotel staff. You leave your bags with them and you walk up to a separate reception area where you are seated and offered tea and macarons. Check in is conducted while you sip your tea. After you get your keys, you go up to your room and your luggage bags are already there. We were very impressed by the reception. The room itself is fairly sizeable and offers a cabinet of Fauchon snacks. We had a good view of the alley behind the hotel that was lined with Sakura trees. We could also see the mountains in the distance. The location of the hotel is also great. It is located about a 5-10 minutes walk from downtown Kyoto and about a 5 minutes walk to Kiyomizu-gojo station. We also had breakfast which included a free flow selection of bread and pastries like French croissant, baguette and brioche. You also get a fruit plate, salad, and omelette. If you stay for more than 1 night, you also get a premium breakfast menu for your 2nd night onwards. We will definitely return to this hotel the next time we are in Kyoto.

Hotel is quite new and tastefully decorated. Room spacious and layout is functional. Dressing/ basin area rather dim, need to have brighter ( whiter ) light for make up etc. Location is very good, few minutes away from metro and walkable to the Hankyu train station, short distance away from the main shopping areas and plenty of good restaurants around. Breakfast area is quite cramped, food variety and taste are good, worth a try. 

La habitación estaba limpia y, en comparación con los hoteles japoneses normales, era mucho más espaciosa. El desayuno ofrecía opciones occidentales y japonesas, lo que era una gran ventaja. La ubicación del hotel también es excelente, a solo dos calles de Shijo Kawaramachi. Es un hotel genial y mi primera opción cuando visito Kioto, algo que he hecho varias veces en los últimos dos años.

Todo fue bueno excepto el servicio en los restaurantes de hotel, que fue excepcionalmente malo: 1) desayuno: esperado por comida durante 40 minutos, recordó al servidor 2 veces - todavía nada; 2) Bar: un tiempo demasiado largo para un cocktail. El servidor dijo que como disculpa dijo, el cocktail no se incluirá en la cuenta... pero estaba allí; 3) Tea de la tarde: dijo al personal que no me gustan los productos lácteos, pero no tienen alergias. En el final me dieron una placa de fruta y cuando les recordé de lo anterior... no hice nada ) me quedé en este hotel y tuve té de la tarde también el año pasado - todo estaba bien entonces. 基礎房型不是在main building，每次都要走到main building再上去吃早餐或者泡温泉，也不是真温泉，朋友的高級房型才是真onsen。給了尾房，有點小，還好看不到太多墳墓。 叫門口的工作人員幫忙拍照，非常不情願，黑臉的。夜晚從朋友房間回自己房間經過大堂，值班的前台態度也很差，總體來説服務態度不滿意。 硬件設施沒得説，很新，體量很小，不過日本的酒店都這樣，裝修也很好看，審美在線 附近至少有3個墓地和一堆神社，帶些護身符去吧

My favorite hotel I've ever stayed at before. Had more services than I've ever seen at a hotel before. The only issue I had was there was no hot water the day I stayed there. Had to use another facility to take a shower. Luckily the hot water was back by 11 PM that day. But, I enyoyed the private bath and the spa a lot. I also really like the overall aesthetic and atmosphere of the hotel. If I visit Kyoto again I'm going to book another stay at this hotel!

The hotel had an authentique Japanese feel to it , very spacious rooms , kind staff , and perfect location ! If you are coming from Tokyo to get another feel of Japan then this must be the perfect location ! Being used to major hotels in Tokyo , this came as a contrast , it felt like a traditional home but with all the luxuries you need. I highly recommend
