A Truly Exceptional Stay at The Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto Our family had a wonderful experience at The Ritz-Carlton Kyoto, and we left with nothing but gratitude and happy memories. From the moment we arrived, the service was flawless and heartfelt — the kind of genuine hospitality that makes a trip feel truly special. A huge thank you to Cecilia and Vinnie from the Guest Experience team, who went above and beyond to make our stay seamless and comfortable. Their warmth, attentiveness, and thoughtful gestures made us feel incredibly welcomed. A very special shout-out to Cecilia, who noticed my daughter’s love for Winnie the Pooh after our visit to Disneyland Resort. She prepared a beautiful card, a sweet message, and even a handmade Pooh origami and placed it in our room. It absolutely made our daughter’s day — such a thoughtful touch we will never forget. We also want to commend Yuki from the restaurant team for his warm and wonderful breakfast service each morning. His kindness and attention to detail set the perfect tone to start our day. The Ritz Kids adventure passport was a delightful surprise — engaging not only for our daughter but also enjoyable for us as parents. And of course, we loved the festive Christmas atmosphere, especially the beautiful Christmas tree and the amazing gingerbread house with the incredible aroma that filled the lobby. The Ritz-Carlton Kyoto truly exceeded our expectations in every way. We felt cared for, welcomed, and genuinely appreciated. We can’t wait to return again. Highly recommended for families and anyone seeking an unforgettable Kyoto stay.

Excelente ubicación, con fácil acceso a Takashimaya y a la estación de tren. Incluso cuando llueve, es fácil moverse por el metro. Hay muchos restaurantes buenos cerca. Las habitaciones eran amplias y acogedoras. Está muy cerca del mercado Nishiki, la calle comercial Shinkyogoku, el centro Pokémon y Edion, y se puede ir andando fácilmente. Muy recomendable para familias con niños. El único inconveniente es que el desayuno es prácticamente el mismo todos los días. Por lo demás, las habitaciones eran muy amplias y cómodas.

My wife and I booked the Classic Room for 3 nights in April 2025. We thought this was one of the best hotels we stayed at during our trip. From the moment you enter the hotel, you are welcomed by the hotel staff. You leave your bags with them and you walk up to a separate reception area where you are seated and offered tea and macarons. Check in is conducted while you sip your tea. After you get your keys, you go up to your room and your luggage bags are already there. We were very impressed by the reception. The room itself is fairly sizeable and offers a cabinet of Fauchon snacks. We had a good view of the alley behind the hotel that was lined with Sakura trees. We could also see the mountains in the distance. The location of the hotel is also great. It is located about a 5-10 minutes walk from downtown Kyoto and about a 5 minutes walk to Kiyomizu-gojo station. We also had breakfast which included a free flow selection of bread and pastries like French croissant, baguette and brioche. You also get a fruit plate, salad, and omelette. If you stay for more than 1 night, you also get a premium breakfast menu for your 2nd night onwards. We will definitely return to this hotel the next time we are in Kyoto.

I stayed here 10 years ago. The hotel looked exactly the same. It is a little bit on the old school side, but everything is clean and impeccable. The first day I arrived I had a stomach issue and the hotel was really kind and helped send fresh ginger tea up to my room and requested. They went out out of their way to find me fresh ginger. The second day I strained my back from lifting heavy luggage. They are once again very kind and send a staff to help me pack all my belongings and help me coordinate sending my luggage to Tokyo so I don’t need to lift it on the train. Special thanks to Naing Thiri who is so kind and help me pack everything so neatly and even help me get dressed Honestly, when I first checked in and the hotel looks a little bit outdated I was thinking maybe next day I would not want to come back but with the great service, I would definitely stay here again if I come to Kyoto

Very nice ambience and a new luxurious hotel in Kyoto close to the 清水寺。 Restaurant choices are quite limited inside the hotel complex but they have got a great spa with excellent service staff. Down the hill should be some international restaurants at Park Hyatt Kyoto another luxurious five star hotel. Breakfast bento boxes not too appetising and not much food selections for in room dining as well. But the neighbourhood was quiet and nice.

Everything was good except the service in hotel restaurants, which was exceptionally bad: 1) breakfast: waited for food for 40 mins, reminded the server 2 times - still nothing; 2) bar: a too long wait for a cocktail. the server said that as apology said cocktail won’t be in included in the bill… but it was there; 3) afternoon tea: told the staff that I dislike dairy products, but have no allergy. So, for example I can eat most sweets, but not the ones with a strong taste of mascarpone cream. In the end they gave me just a plate of fruit and when I remninded them of the above they… did nothing ) I stayed at this hotel and had afternoon tea there last year too - everything was fine then. All of the above are 3 different restaurants inside the hotel, so I wouldn’t recommend going to any restaurant there. In all other aspects except services related to food the hotel is good.

Al visitarlo durante la temporada de hojas rojas, solo puedo decir que desde la perspectiva de la ubicación para observar los arces, puede que no haya mejor opción que Cuilan. Todos los principales lugares para observar arces están a poca distancia. El puente Togetsukyo que cruza la muralla está lleno de turistas y el hotel es elegante y tranquilo. Un sobresaliente para el personal de servicio y la limpieza. Aunque el desayuno del hotel no es tan rico como el buffet, es mejor que la calidad. Lo único es que la relación precio/rendimiento para la cena es ligeramente inferior.

Love the location and the peace in Arashiyama. Nice place to relax after a very busy week visiting places in Osaka and Kyoto. Love the private bath in the room we booked❤️ plus the private onsen bath especially if you have tattoo. Who doesn’t love a free ice cream/cold green tea after onsen😄 and don’t miss the free ramen from 22:30-23:30 😊 lastly, the staff are really nice, helpful, and the Japanese breakfast was very tasty! Beautiful experience and now we are well rested to visit other places in Japan!

Nos encantó nuestra estancia en el Hotel Mitsui. Un diseño súper bonito y zen. Nos fascinó el vestíbulo, que creo que fue diseñado por Andre Fu. Siempre me ha fascinado su trabajo. El desayuno estaba bien, pero las vistas lo compensaron con creces. Súper relajante y precioso. El servicio fue excelente. La mayoría del personal hablaba inglés con fluidez. Hay una fuente termal en el sótano, pero hay que llamar a recepción antes de ir para asegurarse de que haya suficiente espacio. Todo estaba bien preparado, incluyendo trajes de baño, ropa interior desechable, toallas, agua, etc. Como controlan el número de personas, cada uno tiene su propio espacio y aun así se siente mucha privacidad. La habitación es bonita y con muchos detalles. Nos encantó la gran variedad de almohadas disponibles para los huéspedes. No es muy grande, pero el espacio está bien aprovechado. En cuanto a la ubicación, no diría que es la más conveniente, pero si tomas un taxi, todo está a un máximo de 20 minutos, así que no está mal. Todavía hay buenos restaurantes y lugares turísticos a los que se puede ir caminando, así que no está en medio de la nada. En resumen, una experiencia fantástica que recomiendo a todo el mundo.

La ubicación está al otro lado de las dos ciudades, el camino es hacia ella, muy conveniente. Kyoto no es grande, muy guapo, el hotel va a las atracciones en general es bueno. La recepción, el gestor de salones están en buenas condiciones, el inglés está muy en línea, muy internacionalizado, especialmente contratado por un hermano pequeño europeo y estadounidense, y la comunicación es muy comunicativa. Las instalaciones de la habitación son buenas, y el desayuno es bueno, especialmente la máquina fresca y interesante.
