I recently stayed at the Colombo Court Hotel, and while it offers good value and excellent rooms, the hospitality felt a bit rigid for a tourist. First, the bright spots: The room itself was fantastic. It was large, impeccably clean, and featured great-quality sheets with plenty of excellent pillows. The bathroom was stocked with plush towels and quality toiletries. Since I arrived fighting a cold, the great selection of coffee and teas in the room was an absolute lifesaver. However, the customer service left a lot to be desired. I arrived at noon after an all-night flight. Even though it's the low season and the hotel felt completely empty, the front desk rigidly enforced the 2:00 PM check-in time. They didn't even offer an early check-in for a fee. Instead, I was told I could wait out in the heat by the pool for two hours. There was also a strange billing issue at check-in. The front desk asked me for a $43 payment, even though I had already prepaid in full. I had to firmly show them my paperwork showing the booking platform's virtual credit card payment before they backed off. They didn't bring it up again, but it felt a bit like a shakedown attempt. Finally, my booking confirmation explicitly stated checkout was between 11:00 AM and 12:00 PM. Yet, at 11:30 AM, staff knocked on my door telling me checkout was actually at 11:00 AM. Even after showing the front desk my confirmation, they insisted their rule was 11:00 AM. The staff was always friendly and polite, but it felt like they were serving their rulebook rather than their guests. The property is very clean but has much more of a business-traveler vibe than a welcoming tourist destination. I have another reservation here for my return leg, but I’ll be canceling it to stay somewhere else.

Reservé una casa femenina 6-bed pero cuando se ingresó, dijeron que estaré en 4-bed. La actualización ...it tiene sólo 2 personas, yo y otro extranjero. El hotel dispone de un baño privado en la habitación. El interior es agradable. Está situado cerca de KFC, tacobell, pan de palabra y una cadena de supermercado. Y también se detiene el autobús cerca de la estación de tren y la estación de autobús de Colombo Fort. No puedo encontrar otro buen albergue alrededor de Colombo.

Value for money. We booked a room with breakfast and dinner. The dinner and breakfast were western style buffet with some variety of non spicy dishes. Our room is a sea view room and can see sunset. A small swimming pool at the roof.

No está mal. Las instalaciones son un poco antiguas. Me he alojado aquí una vez. Los camareros son convenientes y eficientes, y hay mucha comida abajo. Se tarda diez minutos en llegar andando a la playa.

I recently stayed at Anarva Hotel and had an absolutely wonderful experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff went out of their way to ensure I felt welcome and comfortable. The rooms were modern, spacious, and impeccably clean, with beautiful decor that added to the relaxing atmosphere. The amenities, especially the spa and pool area, were top-notch, providing the perfect place to unwind. The hotel’s location was ideal, offering easy access to nearby attractions, yet tucked away enough to feel peaceful and private. I also have to mention the dining experience—delicious food with a great variety of local and international options. Every meal was a treat! Overall, Anarva Hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a luxurious and memorable stay. I will definitely be returning on my next visit!

Mount Lavinia Hotel used to be so good - not anymore. AC's dont work properly. Phones in room dont work, they give a mobile number to call instead. House keeping takes ages to come. Not the Great hotel we once knew anymore.

En general, está bien. El precio es relativamente barato en la capital. Pensé que no sería una buena estadía a este precio. La sensación general es buena, pero los artículos desechables son un poco toscos. El baño está un poco oscuro y caliente. Todavía hay mucha agua. Very good service & their staff. Good location and easy to get public transportation. Breakfast is great.

Good big room with nice view to the beach. Some restaurants are a few minutes nearby. Would recommend.
