The Old Success Inn

This was our second visit to the Old Success. We stayed in room no2 what a lovely room. Beautifully decorated, warm lovely shower room. Coffee and tea making with fresh milk in the fridge alongside wine and beer, nice touch. The view was stunning and the weather was rough and windy but the room was warm and very welcoming. As before the food was wonderful and all the staff were really helpful and friendly if you needed anything you just had to ask. We will definitely be back. Thankyou for a wonderful stay, it was a nice touch to wish my husband a happy birthday and offer him a drink on the house. A lovely touch and much appreciated. ❤️

We really enjoyed our stay, the rooms are a good size, very clean and well equipped with an amazing view of the cove where we enjoyed the fabulous sunset. We particularly enjoyed the doggy hamper, bowls and bed that were provided for our pooch, it was a thoughtful touch. We also enjoyed a good meal and a lovely breakfast and will definitely return.

We chose this hotel as the closest to our next morning flight out of Land's End airport. Based on previous reviews we expected an excellent experience and are happy to report we were delighted to find it as lovely as promised. The view of the sea is perfect, with an easy hike up the hills to a magnificent panorama. Staff went out of their way to be accomadating. The room was well apportioned, extra amenities provided, and a comfortable patio for drinking and relaxing. My only complaint was they wouldn't serve food on the patio.

The appar**ent is very nice, and we have one in the upper level. The breakfast is great. And the place is good, to start a hike near the cost path, to the interessest point Lands end for example. Beache are in front of the hotel, and at the terrace, you can have in the afternoon a drink in the sun.

Lovely inn set in the perfect location right on the seafront - it was magical sitting up in bed & watching the surfers catch the waves! Food was great, and we really had excellent service from one of the newer members of staff (didn’t get his name, but he’s originally from Shropshire!)

I’ll start with the positives. The hotel location is excellent, right on the sea front. The facilities in the room were very good too, bathrobes, stocked mini-bar and the toiletries provided were lovely. The negatives were: The room we were given was very small and cramped. We tried to book a table for the evening but were told they were fully booked. We asked if there would be a possibility of a table becoming available later in the evening and were told no. We asked if we could be served food outside and were again told no. The person we spoke to was very unhelpful and disinterested. As it was the only restaurant in Sennen we drove out to another pub to eat. However, on returning at 8.00pm, several tables were available and people were arriving and being allowed to order food and people were also being served food outside. We found this situation extremely frustrating bearing in mind we were also residents. The cooked breakfast was quite poor too, dried up hard bacon, overcooked hash browns and cold beans. Very disappointing stay.

Thrilled to report the Success is back to its very best (we've been going 40+ years and it's had ups and downs like anywhere). Recently had a phenomenal Sunday roast thanks to Babs, Jono, Andrew, Molly + chefs Dan and Declan. Keep up the great work!

Room, decor and food in the pub we're fantastic. Great view but couldn't see much of it through the dirty windows, which would be a nigh**are to keep clean so would have happily done them myself if the kit was available. Also be careful when parking over the road, operated by a very unsympathetic operator so my overnight cost me £60 more than it should have.

We had a fantastic 3 night stay, the accommodation was faultless and evening meals/ Sunday lunch were superb !! The only minor issue was that breakfast on 2 mornings were served cold, which was disappointing but the staff did apologise profusely and resolved the problem. We will be back.
