Our stay at Zhouzhuang Zen Yili was absolutely wonderful—a perfect blend of comfort, warmth, and convenience! Taxi can dropped us off within 1 minute walking distance away from Zen Yili. Zhouzhuang ancient village entrance is just a few minutes walk from Zen Yili making it incredibly convenient for sightseeing and activities. The peaceful surroundings of the homestay also added to the relaxing vibe. The hosts, both husband and wife were exceptionally kind and gave us great local tips. They provided us more than enough fresh fruits, tea, biscuits and mineral water. I was surprised also that the room was with full mosquitoes nettings with even anti mosquitoes device provided if needed. During our stay the homestay and its surroundings ware without mosquitoes. The room was spotless, with fresh linens and a cozy atmosphere. The bathroom was of five star standard for its fittings, and was very well-maintained. Before we checked out, we were given delicious homemade biscuits out of their hospitality. They also arranged for us a reliable and comfortable pickup after checked out. For the price, this homestay offered excellent value. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to couples, families, or solo travelers looking for a peaceful retreat in Zhouzhuang ancient village.

I had a wonderful stay at this charming hotel in the heart of the ancient water town. The location is unbeatable—just steps away from the canals, bridges, and quaint streets, making it perfect for exploring the area on foot. The owner was incredibly friendly and attentive, and the cleanliness of the room and the overall quality of the amenities exceeded my expectations. Although the owner doesn’t speak English, communicating through WeChat worked smoothly and she was always quick to respond and help with anything I needed. This small challenge didn’t take away from the experience at all. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort, convenience, and warm hospitality in such a beautiful historic setting!

The Kimpton Bamboo Grove Suzhou** underwent a renovation and upgrade in 2022, retaining some elements of Jiangnan-style gardens while blending in modern design. The overall aesthetic reflects a contemporary Chinese style, with partial preservation of traditional garden landscapes such as water features and pavilions. My stay at the Kimpton Bamboo Grove was quite satisfying overall. What I loved most was the breakfast here—the hotel offers a wide variety of high-quality options, from Chinese dim sum and Suzhou-style local delicacies to Western dishes, all meticulously prepared and exceptionally flavorful. The richness and refinement of the breakfast spread could even rival that of top-tier five-star hotels in Shanghai, providing guests with a premium dining experience. The selection was diverse, and every item was perfectly executed. The freshly made Suzhou-style noodle soup had a delicious broth, while the eggs Benedict from the Western breakfast station were authentically prepared. The fruit section featured fresh seasonal choices daily, making it enjoyable even after several days of dining there. The service attitude of the staff was truly commendable. The front desk handled check-in efficiently, and room service was quick to respond. Most of the hotel employees were young and eager to assist guests. Rachel added me on WeChat, so whenever I had any room requests, I could simply message her before heading out—very convenient and thoughtful service! The room itself was moderately sized with a practical layout, comfortable bedding, and well-scented amenities. The bathroom had strong water pressure, and the housekeeping staff kept everything spotless daily. The hotel’s location was convenient, within walking distance to several major attractions. The public areas were well-maintained, clean, and cozy—especially the lobby lounge, which was perfect for waiting or getting some work done. While it may not be the kind of jaw-dropping luxury experience, the fact that every aspect was executed flawlessly, paired with attentive and considerate service, makes it a hotel I’d gladly choose again. Thanks to all the staff for their dedicated service!

Está situado en pleno centro del casco antiguo, con fácil acceso a los restaurantes, tiendas y puentes por los que este pueblo fluvial es famoso. Los dueños fueron muy atentos conmigo. No les supuso ninguna molestia. Me acompañaron personalmente a la calle principal, a las afueras del casco antiguo, para solucionar un problema técnico con mi portátil y llevaron mi equipaje hasta la entrada del pueblo a mi partida. Gracias por su excelente servicio. Recomiendo sin duda su alojamiento.

Instalaciones: Tal como se muestra en las fotos. Muy nuevo. Muy satisfecho. Tiene tres plantas, y me alojé en la última, que era tranquila y sin interrupciones. Limpieza: Limpio y cómodo, muy satisfactorio. Entorno: 1. A solo unas pocas decenas de metros de la taquilla del Shen Hall, muy conveniente. 2. El pequeño patio frente al B&B es hermoso, perfecto para tomar fotos y registrarse. Servicio: Envié la ubicación del taxi y llegué directamente. Resumen: Este B&B fue fantástico. ¡Me alojaré aquí de nuevo la próxima vez que visite Zhouzhuang!

I arrived in pouring rain. I thought I could walk to my hotel but it was impossible in the downpour. I didn’t want to bother any hotel owner.   I didn’t and still don’t  have an eSIM that can make local  call but thanks to Trip.com, there is a link that I could call the owner for free.  I didn’t advise the owners my arrival time so they were off running errands.  I called the owner to pick me up and thankfully he answered. He was busy but gracious enough to turn around and picked me up. It knew Zhouhuang requires a ticket but I didn’t know that no cars, nor motorcycles, nor bicycles are allowed. Without him I would have arrived the hotel easily.  I always like to meet the owners instead of employees . They were very helpful and answered all my questions. They are honest people who dedicate their  blood and sweat to their business. The owner even offered to walk me to the bus stop  to Suzhou which was my next destination.  This  operates two hotels with 9 in one and 6 in the other. The one that I stayed in with 9 rooms is in a  lively and busy area . Just outside the hotel is a restaurant and there are plenty of places to eat. Inside the hotel is a peaceful oasis where you won’t hear any noise. The location is the best. The other hotel is in a quieter neighborhood a few minutes away. Each of the 15 rooms has it’s own personality, is different and has its distinctive decoration. The owners said they decorated them themselves. I love the decoration and especially the lighting.  After you reserve a room, be sure to contact the owner for the exact address in case you want to arrive on your own. I think it is best to request the owner to take you there because he/she will lead you to the ticket booth to buy tickets. There are a number of bridges so heavy big luggages can be a bit of a challenge .  If you arrive after 5 pm, you can enter free of charge as no one is there to check your ticket. . But once you are inside, and if you choose to leave the area after 8 or 9 am until 5 pm, you have to pay to come back in. You can buy a one day or in my case 3 days pass.  Do check with the owner for up to date information.  The room was quite clean. There were hot water all the time. There were other guests during my stay but they were not noisy at all. I barely heard them. I slept very well during my 3 nights there.  Zhouhuang is really beautiful. There are many canals, bridges, boat rides, good food of all kinds. I had some of the best meals there. In fact , I ate in the same restaurant that serves dumpling twice. One night I had grill (BBQ) meat just outside the entrance for 4 yuans. .  There is decent size supermarket just outside the turnstile and not too far away is a much bigger supermarket. It was there where I bought half a Peking duck for only 32 yuans . The seller sliced the meat and separated the meat from  the bones. The bones he fried so it was crunchy.  It was delicious. There is a theater that offers performances. The night view is great. If you step out your room, you will be overwhelmed in a good sense by the exciting surroundings.  This hotel definitely is one of the best that I have ever stayed in. Look at the beautiful pictures and find one that you like.  I stayed only 3 nights and one of those days I went to Tongli. In my opinion, one should spend at least 2 to 3 full days in  Zhouhuang (and especially this hotel ) savor the ambience. I don’t think Tongli is worth the time because it was twice as expensive and there are not that many canals and boat rides. It is much quieter and has fewer things to see. . The worst is that the sightseeing places require you to show your ticket. After 2 places, I lost mine ticket and I  couldn’t get in the rest of the places. It is unnecessary to require proof of entrance because you can’t enter the area without a ticket. 

La casa de huéspedes está ubicada en el centro histórico de Suzhou, en una calle pintoresca y tranquila. La casa es muy bonita, el mobiliario es elegante y cuenta con un baño moderno y artículos desechables. Desafortunadamente, no había toallas de baño, sino toallas de papel. No había recepción, a pesar de que se especificaba en la descripción del alojamiento. Llegamos a las 13:00 (horario de recepción: 8:00-19:00), pero no había nadie y no recibimos ninguna respuesta en el chat de Trip.com. Cuando llamamos al alojamiento, solo nos atendieron en chino y luego nos enviaron un código QR de WeChat. Nos escribieron solo en chino, aunque les escribíamos en inglés. Por suerte, WeChat tiene un servicio de traducción; de lo contrario, nos habría sido imposible entender qué hacer. Nos dieron información sobre cómo llegar al alojamiento (aunque ya estábamos allí) y nos proporcionaron un código de acceso que no pudimos usar, ya que desconocíamos lo más importante: el número de habitación. Además, el código de acceso cambiaba cada vez que salíamos (dijeron que era un problema relacionado con personas no chinas) y era bastante molesto tener que escribirles constantemente por WeChat. ¡Pero la habitación está muy bien!

The hotel was great! Really the best view, quiet and well maintained territory, very authentic. old Shantang road starts just across the street, food stalls are much better here IMO. We had three rooms for three friends, the hotel provided s with both early check-in and late checkout for free, the guy at the reception desk was very helpful! I messed with my bookings and forgot to book a breakfast for two rooms , we were also offered all three for free. Hotel provides vouchers for free boat ride, recommend to do in after the sunset for the best experience. Rooms are comfortable; the only strange thing is that the bathroom zone (well equipped and very clean, though) is not separated at all except for the shower cabin. We were a group of friends living in separate rooms so that was OK, but for couples this can be somewhat unexpected.

El hotel está muy cerca del Jardín del Administrador Humilde, lo que lo hace perfecto para el primer grupo de visitantes de la mañana. El hotel fue muy amable y nos ayudó a preparar el desayuno o a guardarlo para después de la visita. Estoy muy agradecida con las dos chicas de recepción. Su servicio también fue muy entusiasta. Incluso nos ayudaron a llevar las maletas de la habitación al taxi, lo cual nos dio un poco de vergüenza. ¡Me encanta! 👍

Our stay at this Suzhou apartment was nothing short of perfect! As first-time visitors, we were blown away by the incredible value. The location is great, just a quick 5-minute walk from the MRT, which made exploring the entire city effortless. The apartment itself was exactly as described: spotlessly clean, surprisingly spacious, and equipped with everything we needed. The highlight for us was the big projector screen; winding down each night with Chinese dramas was a unique and fun experience. Having a washer and dryer in the unit was also a huge convenience, allowing us to pack light. The true standout was our host. She was exceptionally helpful, providing a personal recommendations.
