UUsuario invitadoThe room was spacious, the bed was comfortable, and the view was great. The free cocktail and coffee services in the lobby were nice, as well as the free drink bar (including one beer per person) near the entrance to the hot spring. The paid massage service was also good. The meals were decent, especially the grilled beef, which simply melted in my mouth. The restaurant staff welcomed us warmly and provided friendly service.
Cons: The variety of hot springs was lacking, and the view from the hot springs was almost blocked, which was disappointing. The lockers for valuables used combination dials, and foreign guests often didn’t know how to use them, locking their room keys inside and struggling to reopen them. This was a major inconvenience. They should switch to a key-and-wristband system like other onsen hotels.
The room itself felt like an old, once-grand mansion that had seen better days. The furniture had many scratches, and the surfaces were worn and peeling. It made me think it must have been impressive in the past. Still, the room was definitely more spacious compared to other hotels.

CcckentEl hotel es un hotel muy agradable, con una habitación limpia, cómoda y bien equipada con muchas instalaciones como el karaoke, un centro de juegos y más. La habitación de la habitación era de 1 km.
La experiencia del río fue maravillosa, y la vista del río fue fantástica, con una hermosa vista del río Kinugawa.
Pero hubo un problema: cuando nos ingresamos, la recepción tomó nuestros pasaportes para fotocopiar. Desafortunadamente, se olvidó de devolvernos uno de los pasaportes. No fue hasta que después de comprobar y llegar a nuestra próxima parada que nos dio cuenta de que faltaba un pasaporte.
A pesar de ello, la experiencia global fue excelente, y yo recomendaría todavía el hotel.

TthewandercuratorVery conveniently located opposite JR Nikko and 3 min walk away from Tobu Nikko stations and the buses for the area. Good-sized traditional room with dated bathroom. We got a rather dingy view of the carpark and buildings at the back (maybe our request of a bright, high floor room with nature view did not get through) and the staff were not able to accommodate our request to change, citing full capacity. A limited western oriented breakfast was included but could have more Japanese, fish and vegetarian options, as well as less stern reminders to make guests feel less intimidated and more welcomed. Our fav feature was the onsen and lounge with free drinks machine. We would stay here again, given a more accommodating atmosphere.

RRosie33The bunk bed was so large compare to average bed size with comfy and clean blanket and sheet. There is personal locker with key, lamp, charge station, body and face towel, slipper, and free flow kimono and amenities. The soap, shampoo, body lotion, and face wash are provided. I think it is super fantastic compared to the cheap price.
We can use public onsen (male and females are in different rooms so it is so convenient). From 15.00-22.00, in the Lake-View Lounge, we can drink and eat snacks for free: all kinds of alcohol, various soft drinks machines, coffee machines, beer, ice, tea, etc. So fantastic!!!!!
There are library and game corners as well. This hotel is just across the Chuzenji Lake, 900m from Kegon lake. There is one and only convenient store (10mins by walk from hotel) which is open 08.00-20.00.
Even though there are view restaurants nearby, however, you must be aware that food here is quite difficult to access. Restaurants mostly close as early as 3 or 4 pm.
I will definitely come here again.

The amenities, including the hot spring and restaurant, were top-notch. I highly recommend this hotel for a relaxing getaway!

HHoSVery old school ryokan run by very friendly who has been working there for many years. Your name will be displayed on the board next to the entrance of the ryokan to show that they were currently welcoming these guests staying at the ryokan! We stayed there for 2 nights with free parking and we didn’t have to drive anywhere until we checked out as the ryokan is within walking distance to the 3 major world heritage listed shrines including The Toshogu Palace.
Avoid room 312 or 313 (which we stayed) which are the smallest rooms. Those rooms in the middle parts are bigger and more comfortable. Do ask for any room facing the back of the ryokan and avoid those facing the front where you only see car parks with coaches coming in the morning bringing tourists to the shrines.
The onsite Onsen for ryokan guests, breakfasts and dinners are the highlights. You’d love the traditional Japanese meals served there and you won’t be hungry.
Would I come back to this ryokan again? Yes definitely due to its location and friendly staff.

JJ. SimonThe hotel is around 10mins walk from Kinugawa-Onsen Station. Although there are many abandoned hotels, shops, residences, buildings around the surrounding area, I can still explore the area as the street lights are lit in the evening.
The hotel is divided into different wings and occupies a large area. I stayed in the upper floors of the hotel’s main building (Kirakukan) but there’s an option to stay at the hotel’s park-cottages that is built on the cliff of the riverbank and overlooks the Kinugawa river.
The Kinugawa Park Cottage is located separately further away from the main building.
I only noticed a local Japanese family of four or five persons being escorted by the hotel staff to one of the cottages.
Other than that one-off encounter, I didn’t see anyone else at the area around the cottage which is also super quiet.
Likewise for the other wings of the hotel i.e. Kinoyakata and Kishintei, I didn’t see any guests maybe due to low season.
Love the onsen and the private open-air bath, the traditional Japanese kaiseiki breakfast and dinner.
There’s also a souvenir shop, ramen & snack shop as well as an outdoor swimming pool which I couldn’t use as it is only available for use come summer time.
Just across the road from the hotel, there’s the Waterside Cafe Terrace, a 7-Eleven convenience store adjacent to the hotel and since there’s no self-service washing machine/dryer in the hotel, the nearest 24h laundromat is around a 5-min walk from the hotel located behind the Waterside Cafe Terrace and across the road facing “Galarie Cafe Painto E”.
On the day of check-out, the hotel helped to store my luggage and I had lunch at “Suzukawa Cafe” just next to Galarie Cafe Painto E. The food prices here are slightly cheaper than the ones near Kinugawa-Onsen station.

UUsuario invitadoThe location is really good. 10 mins away from the station. Easy to find. Big hotel, about 11 floors. The room is quite spacious, part in western style with beds and part in japaneese with tatamis. There is sink in themiddle of the room, quite comfy. Good view to the mountain and forest from the window, 9th floor. Nice yukata to wear, i liked the outerpart. Breakfast and dinner is buffet, quite big choice, free beer for dinner, not so many fruits, no cakes for breakfast (dinner only). There is sushi and sashimi choice, delicious food. Onsen is quite good, clean, big. Will recommend to stay here

JJCtravellerThe hotel is equipped with an open air parking block of around 15 spaces, which I assume it's first come
first serve basis. When we arrived on a monday night (Mid august) around 9pm to check in there was only one parking space left.
Check in -and out are done in a compartment next to the parking spaces, self serviced on a tablet with quite a few language options (english, chinese....).
Our room was spacious and even came equipped with a projector (poppin Alladin) which the kids enjoyed for watching movies.
There was a laundry machine inside the room, with laundry detergent provided, and drying rack.
Enough clean towels were provided for our family during the stay so we did not need to wash the towels.
However as there was no in room housekeeping service, the litter processing was done by ourselves (perhaps the only inconvenience we found in living in this motel).
