Excellent price-performance ratio hotel with the best logistics you can have in Kinugawa. The facilities with garden are fresh, service is top grade. As for onsen, it is separated, but it has only one bath, which is expected from tiny hotels. The only little nuisance you can encounter is the late night noise coming from opening doors. Overall the experience was outstanding, I will choose this place again.

Would like to say first that our experience was stellar and we had a wonderful stay. It's very clear from the lodging that the owners take pride in their establishment. The whole vibe of the place was that of a lodge/cabin located in the mountains. It was a very comforting and warm place to return to after a chilly hike. The hamburg steak was wonderful and for lack of a better word, perfect. I want to stress that the service was wonderful, but you should check when reception is open. We also had some difficulties as the kerosene heater was foreign to us. Nevertheless, one would be hard pressed to find a better lodging for sightseeing along lake chuzenji or (as for us) lake yunoko. A real gem.

I went to Yumoto for hiking and found this wonderful place. The staffs are very helpful. Although, they cannot fully communicate in English. They are trying their best to make sure my stay is the best experience I have. Room is clean and has no AC.  Breakfast and dinner are traditional Japanese course and I love them.  About Onsen, it might not be in the best condition but it is good enough.  If I have a chance to return to Nikko, I will stay at this place again.

La pensión era acogedora, limpia y bien equipada. El baño incluye onsen. Se puede organizar el desayuno y la cena con el anfitrión por un precio razonable. Hay un buen paseo desde la parada de autobús, con un camino algo irregular si se lleva equipaje con ruedas. La dueña fue amable y nos llevó (cuando le convenía) a la parada. La vista del monte Nantai desde la habitación es preciosa y resulta muy práctico para visitar las cascadas, especialmente la de Yudaki, que en mi opinión fue la mejor.

Most of the reviews are outdated so I thought I'd give an updated review. For one thing, there is WiFi (I have informed the landlady that the website indicates otherwise). This place is a traditional-style inn. You'll be sleeping in a futon (some Google-fu should help you know how to use one), use two pairs of slippers (one for moving around the house, one exclusively for the toilet) and will also bathe in a Japanese-style shared bathroom. The front gate and bathroom close at 10pm, which is not an issue as everywhere in Nikko closes early and it's too dark to hike outdoors (in early Autumn). We loved using the onsen to relax after a day of strolling around and hiking, and the delicious Japanese-style breakfast was lovingly prepared by a friendly old granny. The premises are old but well-maintained. Toilets, bathroom and onsen were great but we were there during off-peak season so we didn't need to share so much. Should we return to Nikko, this place will be our first choice!

What an amazing place to stay - Kas and his wife made us extremely welcome and provided excellent restaurant recommendations as well as places to visit. The rooms were spotlessly clean and the breakfast was excellent (with juice, yogurt, ham and omelette and fruit, plus toast and tea/coffee). The bedrooms are large and the bed are comfy. The shower was also super clean. It is uphill from Nikko Tobu station but you can easily get a taxi from the station for 1,000/1,100 (£5/6) which saves carrying the luggage. Short walk to Kirifuri waterfall which is beautiful and if you’re lucky you’ll get to see the monkeys along the way. I couldn’t recommend more highly and look forward to coming back in the future!

Habitación espaciosa. Hay un puente colgante y un onsen cerca del hotel. No hay tiendas cerca. Recomiendo comer en el restaurante Gusto, cerca de la estación de Kosagoe.

숙소에 늦게 도착하여 체크인 시간이 지았음에도 불구하고 잘 받아주셔서 감사했습니다. 숙소 내는 넓고 깨끗했으며 목욕탕 운영 시간도 길어서 좋았습니다.

Todo fue genial! Vivimos aquí por tres días en abril de 2024. Los huéspedes son muy amables y atentos. El desayuno y la cena fueron muy deliciosos y grandes, por lo que ni siquiera queríamos almorzar durante la caminar por la tarde. La habitación es limpia y limpia. El lugar es tranquilo y hermoso. Cerca de un gran supermercado con todo lo necesario. El autobús para la caída y el lago también está muy cerca. También cerca es un descanso público, también hay un buen descanso. En general nos gusta todo muy bien. Gracias!

Amazing place. Located close to Tobu World Square and Edo Wonderland. Private onsen at rooftop is awesome, can use together with your family and friends..: Public onsen located in second floor is great too.. bring some coins for foot and body massage chair and drinks after bath. The breakfast and dinner buffet are so great… love the choices they had ..: People are so friendly … We as a family are so great full for the amazing experiences… very much recommended…
