The Hotel locationis excellent. its on hill and views are amazing. Food was good only issue we had was during checkout when no one was available to get the luggage from room . Its 2nd floor with no lift.

I came out of curiosity—wanting to experience, for the first time, the novelty and energy of a women-led resort. I left enchanted. But this second visit felt different—more intentional, more existential. I rebooked to continue my solo quest for soulful rejuvenation, tranquility, and serenity—the kind of restorative pause that leaves you resettled for the life you love, yet must return to: a job and day-to-day that asks a great deal. From the moment I arrived, I was beautifully cared for. The à la carte dining—with both Western and Sri Lankan options—did more than simply nourish my body. It re-ignited my appetite in the most genuine way. I ate with joy and intention, and somehow it even made me feel lighter and steadier within myself. I also took a private cookery lesson with the chef, and it was unforgettable. I didn’t just leave with a chef’s hat and a printed recipe book—I left with real skills, spice knowledge, and techniques I can bring home. I can already see myself sharing this with my colleagues, my friends, and of course my beloved family. And yes—I even had to tease the chef, because I loved her food so much that this post-menopausal woman ate so well that my cholesterol and blood pressure readings came down…and I genuinely started to develop a “food baby”. 😂😂😂 Finally, to the management and leadership: as an educator in ancient history, I know great women when I meet them—Helen of Troy, Cleopatra… and beyond. At Amba Yaalu, the leadership feels like that same kind of powerful grace. It isn’t only about running a beautiful resort—it’s about building something that matters. To Amba Yaalu and everyone who made this stay feel like a true haven: thank you for giving me a serenity I could feel in my bones—and a renewed strength for what comes next.

¡Me encantó este hotel! La ubicación era excelente y las vistas preciosas. Ojalá me hubiera podido quedar más tiempo para disfrutar aún más de su ambiente tranquilo. Mi habitación era acogedora y relajante, y me encantó la bañera, perfecta para desconectar después de un largo día. La piscina infinita fue otro punto a destacar, con unas vistas al mar espectaculares, aunque el agua estaba un poco fría. Me hubiera gustado que estuviera climatizada, pero aun así era un lugar precioso para relajarse. ¡El servicio de habitaciones también fue genial! Buena selección y precios razonables para un hotel. Desventajas: En mi último día, me regalé un masaje de aromaterapia de 90 minutos en el spa. Desafortunadamente, le daría una puntuación de 5/10. Vivir en Tailandia me ha malacostumbrado a masajes increíbles, ¡así que reconozco que mis expectativas son altas! Aun así, creo que el spa podría renovarse un poco. Las habitaciones olían un poco a viejo y no eran muy atractivas visualmente. Además, hacía bastante frío durante la exfoliación corporal y el masaje, lo que dificultó la relajación total. El desayuno estuvo bien, pero me hubiera gustado que hubiera más opciones de estilo occidental. En general, sin duda me volvería a alojar aquí. Todo en el hotel era encantador; ¡solo que la próxima vez no iría al spa!

The hotel is in a quiet spot surrounded by nature, and we had a really relaxing time listening to the birds. We stayed in a room with its own pool and loved just enjoying the hotel itself. Breakfast came with an amazing view, and the Sri Lankan-style dishes were delicious. The staff were so attentive, always smiling, and made us feel truly welcome. We’d definitely like to come back. Just note that it’s a bit away from Sigiriya Rock and the town center, so you’ll need a taxi or tuk-tuk to get around.

Este hotel está en la montaña. Hay muchos hoteles en la montaña en Kandy y la carretera es tan pequeña que el conductor condujo en la dirección equivocada varias veces durante la noche y finalmente llegó allí. Los dulces de bienvenida en la puerta no olían muy bien porque llegamos demasiado tarde y los niños estaban cansados, por lo que no prestamos mucha atención a la habitación. Sin embargo, estaba bastante limpia y el precio era muy asequible. El día siguiente también fue rico en variedad y había muchos cuervos afuera, desayunamos y comimos afuera. El cuervo se acercó y se llevó un trozo de pan, lo cual fue impactante.

Este hotel está en medio de la jungla y tiene un diseño espectacular, realmente hermoso. Sin embargo, no lo recomendaría para viajeros solos; está más enfocado en parejas y familias. Por ejemplo, me hubiese encantado cenar en un restaurante tranquilo, acorde al entorno natural y relajado, pero la realidad fue muy distinta: el restaurante era un buffet lleno de gente, con música muy fuerte y mucho ruido ambiente, nada de calma. Durante el día todo era muy sereno, pero en la noche el ambiente cambiaba completamente. Había una terraza que estaba muy linda, pero el menú era muy limitado y el personal no hablaba bien inglés. Tampoco tenían un menú con fotos, así que me costó pedir comida. En cuanto a la habitación, la vista era espectacular, el baño y el servicio, realmente extraordinarios. Todo muy cuidado y estéticamente precioso. Lo único que criticaría es el servicio en el restaurante y la falta de un espacio tranquilo para cenar o relajarse por la noche. No tomé desayuno ni cené en ninguno de los dos días justamente por eso.

This place is truly absolutely stunning, but what made our stay even more special was the incredible people who work here. From the moment we arrived, every staff member welcomed us with such a warm smile and genuine kindness. They were always friendly, attentive, and ready to help, and no matter what we asked for, they went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and comfortable. You could really feel that they cared about making our stay special. My wife and I fell in love with this place. It wasn’t just a beautiful vacation; it was the warmth, hospitality, and little touches from the wonderful team that made it truly unforgettable. Leaving was honestly very emotional for us. We were so sad to say goodbye, because it already felt like we were leaving a place that had become very special to us. A huge thank you to the entire team for giving us such beautiful memories. We will definitely be back on our next vacation, and we cannot wait to experience this wonderful place again. We wholeheartedly recommend this place to everyone — you really have to experience it for yourself! ❤️
