El hotel está bastante bien y moderno. El ascensor tiene un olor peculiar. Y durante uno de los días pedimos papel higiénico por la noche ya que a la vuelta de turistear no habían repuesto. Y no nos trajeron ni papel ni toallas que pedimos también ya que nos tiraron las que teníamos. Por todo lo demás bien, la cama extragrande es enorme.

Parking is ample inside the hotel, so no worries if you’re driving. Check-in and check-out were smooth. On the downside, the room has taped flooring, which makes it look a bit questionable and ugly 🤔 After check-in, we had to wait for towels until 7 PM, which I’ve never experienced at other hotels.🥲 The room was adequately equipped with an iron, ironing board, and smart TV. The pool was great,kids will definitely enjoy it. Overall, it was just okay.Nothing much.

Average Stay with Room for Improvement – 3/5 We were two business travelers from Bangladesh staying at The Merchant Hotel Penang for a short work trip. Overall, our experience was okay, with a mix of positives and a few things that could be improved. Pros: The location is definitely the best part – it’s right in the heart of George Town, which made it easy for us to get around for both work and some quick sightseeing. The staff were friendly and polite, always ready to help when we had questions. Our twin room was clean and comfortable enough for a few nights, and we appreciated the strong Wi-Fi for getting work done. Cons: The breakfast buffet was quite basic and repetitive – not the best start to the day if you’re expecting variety. We also faced a small maintenance issue with the bathroom, which could use a bit more attention. The hotel is close to a mosque, and while we respect the call to prayer, light sleepers may find it disruptive early in the morning. Parking was not a concern for us, but it did look quite limited for those driving in. Final Thoughts: It’s a decent option if you’re traveling for business and looking for a centrally located, budget-friendly place. Just manage your expectations regarding food and amenities, and maybe request a quieter room if noise is a concern.

Excellent Stay with Top-Notch Service! ”Don't let the classic exterior fool you; the interior of Cititel Penang is modern and impressive. I had a fantastic stay here for several reasons: • Exceptional Service: The front desk process was incredibly fast for foreigners. The hospitality is amazing—there is someone helping you at every step, from the entrance door onwards. I loved the welcome drink and the thoughtful staff who followed up on my Grab Express delivery to ensure it reached my room. • The Room: Spotlessly clean with a beautiful sea view. They provide unlimited drinking water, and the 'Pillow Menu' is a game changer—you can request silk or memory foam pillows for free! • Facilities: The gym and pool area are very clean. Although the jacuzzi wasn't very warm, the overall facility is well-maintained. • Location: Perfectly located right next to a bus stop, making it very easy to get around. A very clean, convenient, and hospitable hotel. I would definitely stay here again!

Convenient location, surrounded by many local food stalls. Walking distance to new lane food stalls and HAHA Gelato. There are convenient stores and Watson nearby too. Limited parking space in front of the hotel lobby and back side. Room has enough space to keep luggage and personal belongings. Overall not a bad choice. Will come again next time.

Surprised by how clean it was despite being an old hotel in the area. I am overall satisfied with the hotel and my room, especially the cleanliness of the toilet and tub area. If I have to be really fussy and pin point a thing I did not like, it would be that the blanket is slightly thinner than I would normally prefer a hotel blanket to me. However, this is just my very fussy side speaking. Overall, I would give this hotel a 4.9 out of 5. I had booked a room with breakfast during my two days there for a workshop. Both days are somewhat the same, food was decent. The workshop provided lunch which led me to again dining in the lunch buffet section, overall it was pleasant. I like it that the hotel provided a variety of Penang food over the two days. My fav was the rojak which I took a photo here haha! Hub enjoyed the pool and hot & cold pool (sadly the sauna was under maintenance). Before I checked out, I also happened to be part of the Penang heritage launch ceremony. So, I got to see some of the really beautiful art work and nyonya clothing items on sale at the pop up stalls at the lobby too. The hotel also was serving nutmeg juice and Penang famous snack 豆沙饼. I must mention too, that I got a sea view room which allowed me to see the extension project by MBPP. There was a very happening and lovely park opposite the hotel just minutes walk away. I couldn’t help to bring myself over and was really happy to experience the joy of the families enjoying the facilities there. Huge slide, lots of climbing equipment and a very decent skatepark! Running track was very nice too! You must check it out if you’re in Penang! It was overall a pleasant stay in all.

En definitiva, la relación precio/rendimiento es muy buena y se recomienda quedarse aquí.

La ubicación era perfecta, y tener el hotel en el mismo lugar fue una gran ventaja. El desayuno estaba delicioso y con una buena variedad de opciones. Todo el personal con el que me atendió, desde la recepción hasta el servicio de limpieza, se esforzó al máximo para que mi estancia fuera agradable. Sin duda, volvería y recomendaría el Hotel Wangs a cualquiera que busque una estancia cómoda y agradable en Penang.
