I asked for a quiet room and was placed on 1st floor however in a room closest to the main road with lots of traffic noise and there was construction going on nearby with constant drilling and noise until 4am so I never managed to sleep for most of the night, meaning that I couldn’t get up early to use the facilities. It’s not the staffs fault, but just be careful when booking.

El personal fue increíblemente amable y atento. Cenamos muy bien en el bar. El desayuno estuvo muy bueno. La piscina es preciosa, con jacuzzi. El hotel en general está muy anticuado y necesita urgentemente una renovación. Algunas habitaciones tienen baños nuevos; otras los necesitan. El agua caliente era escasa la noche que estuvimos allí. Las duchas en los vestuarios del spa son un desperdicio de espacio y no funcionan. Las habitaciones eran muy cómodas. No tengo ninguna queja. La limpieza era buena. Es un hotel de 3 estrellas. Tiene una buena relación calidad-precio. Sin duda volvería a alojarme allí. Eso sí, no esperes lujos. Es un hotel rural y confortable que necesita una buena renovación. Una estancia perfectamente cómoda y agradable. No vayas si buscas lujo. Si buscas algo sencillo, básico pero muy cómodo para todas las necesidades y con buenas instalaciones, este es perfecto.

Perfect hotel if you’re visiting the area. Lovely location and views of the river and cathedral. Easy walking distance to shops, bars and restaurants. Rooms are of a high standard. Excellent drinks variety with the distillery and brewery on site. Service is impeccable. Great breakfast.

Realmente buen hotel. Más barato alrededor también por lo que no se puede llegar cuando la gente reserva hoteles baratos y se queja de que no es 5* 😂. Situación es increíble. El lago es hermoso. El personal es realmente agradable. Las habitaciones tienen todo lo que necesitas y son bastante espaciosas. La comida es realmente buena aunque un poco costosa pero todavía buenas porciones.

Questions emailed to the hotel prior to our arrival was answered quickly and was very helpful.  A very warm welcome on arrival by Miss Mary who was also the one who wa replying to our emails.  Friendly staff. Gave us great suggestions on what to see and do in the area.  We highly recommend this place to everyone.

La habitación es muy agradable, muy cómoda, pero se deja bajar por algunas pinturas de grubby en el tapete y una medicación previa y yogur en el frigorífico.

This hotel was the perfect base for traveling The Isle of Skye! Check in was easy, there were lots of parking (some close, some far), coffee and breakfast had some selections, we had dinner at the hotel too and it was great. It says that there might not be warm water at all times, but we had warm water every time we showered with great water pressure! This was an affordable and easy place!

Slightly dated but very clean and well looked after property and grounds. Our room had a very modern toilet and shower room with quality shower gel etc provided along with lovely fluffy towels. Beds were nice and comfy. The staff are fantastic, very polite and helpful. Pets are very welcome . We ate in the bar and the food was excellent with the highlight being the sweet trolley. For the price they ask you would be hard pressed to find better value for money. Highly recommended. Mark & Frances 5/06/26

The Caledonia Hotel — a good budget option. We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is simple but clean and comfortable, with friendly staff and a good breakfast. For the price, it offers great value. Definitely recommended.

My Mum and I stayed here for a night, we wanted something special and we had a lovely experience! This hotel may be old but I felt that was part of the charm, especially because you can pick up a paper at the desk which tells you all about the history of it (including how Mae West had a room there!). The man at reception was lovely, as were the bar staff, and we had a great sleep in a cozy, nicely themed room with a great bathtub. My Mum especially appreciated the Bible being left in the bedside table as well. That may have been done by a guest but it was nice that the staff left it there nonetheless in case somebody wanted to read it. There were a number of little touches like that, and we had a garden view which was lovely. Also the breakfast was included in our booking, and well worth it! I'd recommend this stay for anyone looking to have a nice night in the Scottish countryside!
