El hotel es un hotel de 3 estrellas. La recepción y el check-in estaban bien, nos mostraron nuestras habitaciones (el otro par recibió fruta y vino ...we sólo tenía bebidas suaves en nuestra habitación que era un poco de hicup.) Día 1 a pesar de no ser capaz de conseguir una cama de sol en ninguna piscina o en la playa que teníamos más La cena del restaurante Candia en la noche de mi cumpleaños. Encontramos nuestro primer día difícil ... todo es un escaneo qr ...Todos los menús, directorios, mapa etc ...do tienes que encontrar todo para ti mismo ...y el resto del tiempo que se revered a concierge. tampoco hay información sobre el entretenimiento del hotel ni ...it El hotel está en una zona de la ciudad de la ciudad, donde se encuentra el centro de la ciudad. El restaurante principal es hermoso, la comida es deliciosa, pero no es la misma que una experiencia de restaurante donde se puede vestir para cenar y disfrutar del tiempo con los amados. La excepción nos dijo que el hotel es muy ocupado y que era que ...hay una verdadera falta de empatia. No me sorprendería si se tratara de una política de 2 restaurantes por habitación. El hotel es hermoso, bien mantenido y el restaurante y el bar están todos maravillosos, pero dudo que lo recomendaríamos a otros ...lejos de relajarse, ha sido bastante duro trabajo.

I celebrated a significant birthday on a 7 night stay with a large group of friends and relatives (17 people in total, 13 x aged young 50+ and 4 x aged 20 somethings) at Aldemar Knossos Royal and it was the perfect place. I made contact with Mr Ilias Papadomickelakis, the Guest relationships manager prior to travelling to ensure they would be able to accommodate my group, as I know it is not always easy to accommodate large groups and also to allow us to dine together for my birthday and on another few evenings. Ilias was so helpful and accommodating and he assured me that he would try to accommodate us as much as possible. I asked if the restaurants offered a good range of gluten free meal options as myself and 3 other members of my party had coeliac disease and required gluten free meals. I also requested a gluten free birthday cake and was prepared to pay for it if necessary. I was assured that there would be a good range of gluten free meal options in all the restaurants and that was me experience during the holiday. I was provide with a gluten free cake for my actual birthday celebration and we were allocated a section of the Artemis (Greek Taverna) restaurant for my birthday celebration. I wanted advise and suggestions on how I could pre-arrange a day excursion/trip with my group, so we could all get out the resort and have a fun activity together and Ilias suggested a local tour operator and put me in contact with Fivos Travel who arrange a site seeing late morning tour of the Minoan Palace and an afternoon sailing on a yacht with lunch. The tour was not to everyone's taste as it felt a little too long but everyone really enjoyed the yacht and the crew was absolutely great and the food they prepared was really delicious. Everyone really loved the resort even a member of my party who had mobility difficulties and was initially worried about taking the trip with me, but she was picked up and transported to all the restaurants and other areas in the resort as required on the golf buggies which was also available to anyone else if requested. I particularly enjoyed the sense of space, as nowhere felt crowded, there was several pools, so there was always sunbeds available and each accommodation area had its own assigned pool as well as the 2 main pool areas. My room was a ground floor sea front room with beautiful sea views and it was amazing. We were initially offered a first floor room in the same block but the balcony was tiny and the ground floor room which I had originally requested had a large patio and it was much better for us. I would like to thank Ilias and all the staff at Aldemar Knossos who took care of me and my group and made my special birthday celebration such a great occasion and left us with such fond memories. Stayed here beginning of May. It was slightly out of season but still very pleasant weather wise. A few issues regarding the hotel though, only the main buffet restaurants were open for breakfast, lunch and dinner no a la carte dining and only a couple of bars open. Pools were very fresh and the swim up bar was closed even for the sunbathing clients. No entertainment to speak of and not enough staff to cover each bar, only one person serving so you had to queue in a line and no table service so be prepared to get off your backside and go to the bar in keeping with the boot camp theme. The hotel seems to cater for and favour the French. There was a Disco down at the beach area one evening but the bar wasn’t opened so you had to climb back up the seemingly endless steps to the reception bar for any drinks, and it wasn’t worth the time and effort and in any case you would have drunk you drink after a third of the way back down. Smoking seems to be permitted anywhere in the hotel apart from the main buffet restaurant and your own room without any consideration for other guests, passive smoking is more damaging to others than actually smoking and considering this is a family hotel it’s not really children friendly. The hotel is not for the infirm there are steps to negotiate everywhere, you have to go upstairs to come back down and vice versa, if you are looking for a Boot Camp Stay then look no further. The beach is very corse stone so beach shoes are a must. The rooms are dated and most with Shower over baths, the hairdryer is from the 70’s the box a on a wall type that looks like an old vacuum cleaner but it did the job considering that I had a No 1 cut before I came. Air conditioning unit was recent and worked well. All in all a pleasant stay but don’t come here if you struggle with steps or climbing over a bath to use the shower, or if you are opposed to the French. Drinks were okay but other than the local stuff you will need to pay. The hotel is listed as 5 Star and could be with some changes but it’s really a 3+. The thing that I liked most was you are not given Wristbands. After three days we hired a car to do some exploring and it’s well worth it as we found civilisation in the form of waiters and waitresses bringing food and drinks to our table we had to pay of course but it felt like we were actually on holiday, we also found moving stairs and our tired bodies were able to have some relief. After our stay here I’m fit enough to do a triathlon and apply for Gladiators.
