I'm a british traveller with a Chinese wife. I'm mostly located in China and I speak the language. Hunchun is near to Russia and most of the guests were Russian. Some of the staff can speak a few words of Russian but not much. And no English! The Hotel itself is modern, clean and very technically equipped. The toilet seat is heated, and it flushes itself. The shower took a bit of working out, but once I had mastered it, it was possibly the best shower I'd had in years. The shower is partitioned from the rest of the toilet, which isn't always the case in China. There's an AI person who greets you in Chinese when you enter, but we couldn't work out what the purpose of this was. It didn't understand English and my wife couldn't get a lot of sense out of it in Chinese. But everything else worked, including the curtains which opened and closed remotely. The TV was large and of an excellent quality. The bed was firm, but not hard like some Chinese beds can be, and we slept very comfortably. The breakfast was OK, but nothing special. My wife and I are diabetic, so we avoid sweet things. Although there was plenty of meat, vegetables and eggs to keep us going for the day, there was only sweetened coffee, sweetened milk tea and I think sweetened soy milk, in the drinks machine. We managed to get plain hot water out of the machine, but there was only paper cups provided, which was a disappointment considering the price we'd paid and the excellent standard of everything else. I would suggest a coffee machine and milk available at breakfast, and maybe a hot water urn and some tea bags. And some proper cups! I think a place of such good quality deserves a bit more of a variety of food. It was OK, but not great. Disappointing. For people on a low budget (like we were) one should bear in mind that the location isn't very central and it's a bus ride and a 25 minute walk, from the high speed rail station. Taxis are not very expensive but we don't have much money so we got local buses which are not very frequent. So I consider the location to be the most disappointing aspect of this hotel. Everything else was either fine, or excellent. We would definitely consider going there again in the future. It was also the only hotel that has allowed us the late checkout which I've been promised by Trip.com. Thank you!

However, I did notice that the room lacked proper sound insulation, as I could hear noises from the hallway and neighboring rooms. This impacted my sleep quality slightly. The cleanliness of the room was generally satisfactory, although there were a few areas that could have been better maintained. The bathroom, while functional, could benefit from some upgrades to enhance the overall experience. In terms of amenities, Hanting Hotel provided basic facilities such as Wi-Fi, which was reliable and allowed me to stay connected throughout my stay. However, I found the lack of a mini-fridge or a coffee/tea maker in the room to be a drawback, as it limited my convenience and comfort. One aspect that stood out during my stay was the hotel's breakfast. The buffet offered a variety of dishes, catering to both local and international palates. The food was delicious, fresh, and served with a friendly smile from the staff. Overall, Hanting Hotel offered a decent stay with its convenient location, friendly staff, and tasty breakfast. However, improvements in sound insulation, room cleanliness, and inclusion of additional room amenities would greatly enhance the overall experience.

1. Free Pick-Up from Railway Station The free pick-up service from the railway station was smooth and incredibly helpful. It made our arrival stress-free and set the tone for the rest of our stay. 2. Room The room was spacious and impeccably clean, with the added convenience of a heater in the washroom—a definite plus point, especially in colder weather. 3. Hospitality The owner, Mr. Feng, and his staff, especially Mr. Xia, along with the rest of the team, are gems. They are extremely helpful, and their intention to assist guests is genuine. They provide support with a smile and never show any reluctance. Their efforts made our stay both comfortable and memorable. 4. Assistance and Arrangements Mr. Feng and his staff went above and beyond to make our trip seamless. They arranged transport to Xue Li Mountain and helped us purchase tickets at a reasonable price. Mr. Feng even accompanied us to a restaurant to introduce us to a new dish, which was a delightful experience. The next day, Mr. Xia helped us buy tickets to Changbai Mountain (Heavenly Lake). He also ensured we were dropped off at the bus station and picked up later, making the process entirely hassle-free. 5. Farewell This hotel holds a special place in our hearts. On our departure, they dropped us off at the railway station early in the morning. Mr. Feng himself joined to bid us farewell, which touched us deeply. 6. Final Thoughts Their hospitality reaffirmed our faith in humanity. The kindness, care, and genuine efforts of Mr. Feng and his team made this stay unforgettable. Love and gratitude to all of them!

2D2N in this hotel in the off-season. I booked it based on the good reviews! BUT there were some unexpected things nobody talks about! Let’s go for a quick review👇🏻 What was good: • Super clean • A good firm mattress and two pillows to choose from: one soft and one firm ✨ • The bidet 🥰 • The price • Good Korean-style breakfast, but the same every day • Showroom full of Korean costumes • Sweet girl at reception, although she was a bit shy with foreigners 🤪 • Quiet outside, warm inside, and the air is fresher than in the city What was disappointing: • The TV turns on every time we come back — it’s kinda annoying • Since neither of us knows Chinese, we couldn’t use the voice assistant. We could've used it in English, but nobody helped us set it up (but it’s okay, because we visited just for the weekend) • Disposable towels 😅 (I prefer the soft cuddle of a real towel/bathrobe after a shower) • There were no dental supplies. It was disappointing and unexpected (but maybe it’s okay for a hotel at this price, who knows?) General conclusion: It’s the best option for a Korean-style photoshoot for a few days. Good for sleeping after walking around all day. But if you’re visiting just for the weekend and you don’t need photos, it’s better to stay somewhere near the city centre. As for me, I like fresh air, and in this hotel I could have it. In the city centre it’s only air-conditioned, so this is kinda the better choice for me… What about you? Who knows! Erdaobaihe is a really sweet, cozy little town. Although it’s not located in the main town area, it is just opposite the beautiful pine forest, which makes the surroundings very peaceful. There are free buses available to travel within the town, which is very convenient. However, as we can’t read Chinese, we mostly relied on Didi instead. Getting a Didi can be a bit challenging due to the limited number of drivers, but as long as you’re willing to wait 5–15 minutes, you should be able to get one. The people in the town are very warm and welcoming. We visited Enduli, and it was absolutely wonderful and truly memorable. The morning view from our room was magical. The room itself was spacious, and the bathroom was equipped with a smart toilet with a heated seat, which was a nice touch. There was a small issue where we found a strand of hair on the bed when we opened the bedsheet. We didn’t make a fuss as I had my own disposable bedsheet prepared. Despite this minor incident, the overall stay was wonderful. What really made this place special was Aunty Wu. She was always there for us and even woke up at 6am just to bid us goodbye. When we were looking for laundry services, she kindly offered to wash our clothes in-house. With my OCD, I was especially touched that she even warmed my laundry bag for me - such a thoughtful gesture. Will definitely be back

We had an amazing stay here. The owner was extremely helpful and thoughtful — he helped us arrange our itinerary, book tickets, transportation, and handled everything for us. Even though we only stayed for 2 days and hadn’t prepared anything in advance, he made sure we could follow our plan smoothly and even suggested extra places to visit. The hotel is located on the 5th floor, accessible by elevator. It took us a little while to find it at first, but the location is convenient, close to Yunding Market - it’s nice to take an evening walk around the area and find food nearby. The room was comfortable and well-equipped, with a large bed. One small thing to note is that the heater/air conditioner felt a bit weak for us, so the room was slightly cold at night, possibly due to the bed being close to the window. The most precious part of our stay was the warmth of the aunt and uncle here. They were so caring and welcoming, always checking on us when we went out or came back late. Being away from home but feeling this kind of care truly felt like home. It was genuinely heart-warming, and we are very grateful for this stay. ❤︎
