Nestled in the lush highlands near Ella, my stay around Ravana Falls was nothing short of breathtaking. The property, often referred to locally as “Ravana Rabge,” perfectly captures the charm and serenity that make this region one of Sri Lanka’s most beloved travel destinations. From the moment I arrived, I was struck by the stunning architecture and its seamless blend with nature. Built across multiple levels on a hillside, the structure offers panoramic views of rolling green mountains, dense forests, and the distant valley below. The design is both modern and rustic, with warm wooden finishes, open balconies, and large glass windows that allow natural light to flood in throughout the day. Early mornings here feel magical—the soft golden sunlight gently touches the hills, while birdsong creates a peaceful wake-up call. One of the highlights of the property is its beautifully maintained outdoor space. The pool area is particularly inviting, offering a refreshing escape after a day of exploring nearby attractions. Sitting by the pool, surrounded by greenery and fresh mountain air, creates a sense of calm that is hard to find elsewhere. Heaven on earth! Absolutely spoiled every morning with breakfast on their rooftop overlooking the famous Ella Rock. Possibly the best bedroom view I’ve ever seen. We travelled in April which is notoriously muggy and hot, but the electric fans are very powerful and kept us nice and cool in the evenings, they even have a sleep setting on them! Couldn’t have asked for much more. 5 min TukTuk to and from town (500sr or £1.50). Or a peaceful 10 minute walk. 11/10 would recommend

Keeping in mind this is a 3 star hotel, the positives are the rooms are big with a balcony looking out at amazing views (ours anyway), and the pool is clean and quite big also with amazing views and a concrete elephant water feature!!! The location of the hotel is pretty good too - far enough from other properties to be quiet but close enough to Ella main drag that you can walk in 10-15 minutes or pay a tuk tuk driver double the rate of Colombo to get to and from. The big negative for us was that despite being told upon checking in that the room would be cleaned every day, it was not. And I was told the reason why was that we didn’t hand in our key for it to be done - which seems bizarre after staying in hotels for decades and not being told to or having to hand in a key in order to get a standard daily room clean. The insinuation that it was our fault for not handing in a key (not that we were told to do so on checking in) was extremely irritating. Food was ok but overpriced so we ate elsewhere (lots of options). There were lots of little things in the rooms that could be easily addressed to make them nicer - definitely not having ripped old bath towels, and removing an empty TV bracket from the wall (like a TV used to be there but not anymore - or was it just our room, who knows). All these little things add up to I really think the room rate is too high - but we are here in the high season so maybe that’s just the going rate.

J’ai apprécié l’emplacement un peu à l’écart de la grande avenue, mais il est vrai que le soir la rue est sombre. La chambre est grande avec un grand balcon, la literie est confortable. Par contre je n’ai pas aimé que le petit déjeuner soit mentionné et qu’on m’ait averti la veille qu’il ne le servaient pas sans même trouver d’alternative. Le wifi n’est pas du tout stable et la communication avec le gérant est presque inexistante. On ne m’a jamais répondu ni pour le petit déjeuner ni pour le wifi

Es un poco alto en una colina, pero la vista desde mi balcón era maravillosa.También está justo a la calle principal, así que si no te importa el paseo y baja todavía está relativamente bien situado a estar cerca de los bars y restaurantes y tiendas de los backpackers. El desayuno tenía muchas opciones locales de Sri Lanka que aprecié muy bien, y el personal también estaba feliz de explicar cada plato a los nuevos. ¿Un pequeño consejo para el equipo: quizás contratar a algunas mujeres empleadas? Como una mujer que viajaba sola, una de las primeras cosas que noté fue el personal de todo el hombreo al menos, no vi una mujer trabajando allí en mi estancia 2-night. No tengo ningún problema con eso, pero los viajeros de mujeres solitarias más jóvenes podrían estar involuntariamente asustados

Хочется поделиться не просто отзывом, а искренней благодарностью за несколько дней абсолютного покоя и удовольствия. Это был не стандартный отдых, а настоящее перезаряжение. Это вилла в прекраснейшем месте , посреди зеленых холмов , чайных плантаций ! Номера просторные в отеле их только 2 , они с балконами и панорамным видом . Все чистое и опрятное . Мы путешествовали вчетвером и получалось , что дом только наш ! Это было восхитительно! Нам готовили завтрак ко времени , за 2 дня он был разнообразным. Большие порции , все очень вкусно фрукты , роти, бургеры , несколько вариантов яиц, блинчики и напитки на выбор . Рядом есть живописнейший Ж/Д мост , ресторан с местной кухней . До центра города 10 минут на тук туке по серпантину . Отдельная благодарность владельцу отеля и управляющему , всегда были готовы помочь/ рассказать и оказать помощь! С удовольствием еще вернемся !

¡Perfecto permanece en el corazón de Ella! Recientemente nos quedamos en el Bridge Front Inn y tuvimos una experiencia fantástica desde el principio hasta el final. We had a lovely stay at Ella Rawana Den Hotel in Ella. The location is excellent — just a short walk to town, making it very convenient for restaurants, cafes and exploring the area. One of the highlights was the beautiful balcony view overlooking the lush green hills. It was the perfect place to relax in the morning or evening. The room was big, clean and comfortable, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. However, it’s important for older guests or anyone with mobility issues to know that the hotel is located up a very steep hill. Cars and tuk-tuks cannot access the property directly, so you need to walk up, which can be challenging — especially with heavy luggage. Because of this, it may not be suitable for elderly or disabled travellers. One small improvement would be for the hotel to provide a hairdryer in the rooms, as this would be very helpful for female guests. Overall, a great stay with beautiful views and kind staff — just be prepared for the steep climb!
