Ravana Range prometía una vista espectacular y no defraudó. Ubicado en la sierra de Ella, al salir de la habitación uno se transporta a otro mundo. Aunque se encuentra en lo alto de la sierra, está a un corto paseo de la calle peatonal del pueblo por un atajo. Nos alojamos en la habitación 203 y nos encantó. Es una habitación de esquina con mucha privacidad. Sin embargo, la distribución es un poco peculiar, con pocos enchufes, por lo que cargar dispositivos puede ser un desafío con las comodidades básicas, pero eso es común en casi todos los hoteles de Ella. El hotel ofrece media pensión y es, sin duda, la mejor que hemos probado. El desayuno y la cena se sirven con mucha presentación y el personal se enorgullece de su trabajo. Uno de los principales inconvenientes de Ravana Range y los hoteles de la zona es el camino para llegar. La ruta es empinada, estrecha y puede resultar peligrosa para los turistas que viajan en coche. No la recomiendo, especialmente si se viaja en tuk-tuk. Otro inconveniente es que está bastante cerca de los vertederos, bajando una pendiente, por lo que el aire puede resultar bastante desagradable si viene de una dirección inadecuada. Por último, no es apto para personas mayores: hay tres pisos de escaleras empinadas desde la recepción hasta las habitaciones, por lo que no se recomienda si las personas mayores tienen dificultades para subir escaleras. Pero si le gusta el buen servicio y relajarse junto a la piscina mientras contempla las magníficas vistas a la montaña, Ravana Range es sin duda su mejor opción en Ella.

Heaven on earth! Absolutely spoiled every morning with breakfast on their rooftop overlooking the famous Ella Rock. Possibly the best bedroom view I’ve ever seen. We travelled in April which is notoriously muggy and hot, but the electric fans are very powerful and kept us nice and cool in the evenings, they even have a sleep setting on them! Couldn’t have asked for much more. 5 min TukTuk to and from town (500sr or £1.50). Or a peaceful 10 minute walk. 11/10 would recommend

Keeping in mind this is a 3 star hotel, the positives are the rooms are big with a balcony looking out at amazing views (ours anyway), and the pool is clean and quite big also with amazing views and a concrete elephant water feature!!! The location of the hotel is pretty good too - far enough from other properties to be quiet but close enough to Ella main drag that you can walk in 10-15 minutes or pay a tuk tuk driver double the rate of Colombo to get to and from. The big negative for us was that despite being told upon checking in that the room would be cleaned every day, it was not. And I was told the reason why was that we didn’t hand in our key for it to be done - which seems bizarre after staying in hotels for decades and not being told to or having to hand in a key in order to get a standard daily room clean. The insinuation that it was our fault for not handing in a key (not that we were told to do so on checking in) was extremely irritating. Food was ok but overpriced so we ate elsewhere (lots of options). There were lots of little things in the rooms that could be easily addressed to make them nicer - definitely not having ripped old bath towels, and removing an empty TV bracket from the wall (like a TV used to be there but not anymore - or was it just our room, who knows). All these little things add up to I really think the room rate is too high - but we are here in the high season so maybe that’s just the going rate.

Dowa Elegance Resort is a peaceful retreat surrounded by beautiful nature. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the staff is very kind and attentive, and the atmosphere is perfect for relaxation. A great place to enjoy the beauty of Sri Lanka with warm hospitality.

Es un poco alto en una colina, pero la vista desde mi balcón era maravillosa.También está justo a la calle principal, así que si no te importa el paseo y baja todavía está relativamente bien situado a estar cerca de los bars y restaurantes y tiendas de los backpackers. El desayuno tenía muchas opciones locales de Sri Lanka que aprecié muy bien, y el personal también estaba feliz de explicar cada plato a los nuevos. ¿Un pequeño consejo para el equipo: quizás contratar a algunas mujeres empleadas? Como una mujer que viajaba sola, una de las primeras cosas que noté fue el personal de todo el hombreo al menos, no vi una mujer trabajando allí en mi estancia 2-night. No tengo ningún problema con eso, pero los viajeros de mujeres solitarias más jóvenes podrían estar involuntariamente asustados

Although the location is a little inaccessible, that’s how the beautiful view of train coming out from tunnel can be seen. And the inaccessible location is overly compensated by the service, there is TukTuk to fetch you from Ella Town or Ella station when you arrive. During your stay, they fetched us back from Ella town after dinner around 9pm to the accommodation for the convenience. Also upon check out, they sent us back to Ella station. So, you can to enjoy the view in absolute nature without compromising the convenience. Absolutely love the place. Just walking distance to 9 Arch.

¡Perfecto permanece en el corazón de Ella! Recientemente nos quedamos en el Bridge Front Inn y tuvimos una experiencia fantástica desde el principio hasta el final. We had a lovely stay at Ella Rawana Den Hotel in Ella. The location is excellent — just a short walk to town, making it very convenient for restaurants, cafes and exploring the area. One of the highlights was the beautiful balcony view overlooking the lush green hills. It was the perfect place to relax in the morning or evening. The room was big, clean and comfortable, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. However, it’s important for older guests or anyone with mobility issues to know that the hotel is located up a very steep hill. Cars and tuk-tuks cannot access the property directly, so you need to walk up, which can be challenging — especially with heavy luggage. Because of this, it may not be suitable for elderly or disabled travellers. One small improvement would be for the hotel to provide a hairdryer in the rooms, as this would be very helpful for female guests. Overall, a great stay with beautiful views and kind staff — just be prepared for the steep climb!

We had a wonderful stay at Greenland Villa. It is perfectly located right next to the Kithal Ella train station, from which you can directly board the famous train that goes through the nine arch bridge. The property was beautiful, very well equipped with everything we needed including a great kitchen. It was clean, well ventilated, and more importantly it felt like home. The owner took time to decorate it with great taste. On top of that he was such a humble and polite person.Upon arrival he gave us a ride to get our groceries; another day he brought us his homegrown vegetables, which was such a nice gesture. Having said that, there were a couple of issues that needed to be addressed. The WiFi connection was not great, probably because of the location, but we struggled with it. And the breakfast was very carb-heavy, which may work for you but wasn't particularly to our liking. Nonetheless, We would book it again if I ever come back to Ella. We can only recommend Greenland villa highly.
