We are a family of four—two Japanese children and two adults (half Japanese, half American). We’ve lived in Japan for 25 years and have stayed in many ryokan across the country. We’re happy to pay a premium if the experience is worth it, but unfortunately, this ryokan did not meet expectations. The public bath is in need of renovation, the food was very ordinary, and there were storage boxes placed around the restaurant during dinner, which took away from the atmosphere. Staff are nice.

La habitación King era muy espaciosa, limpia y cómoda. Los pijamas eran muy cómodos y me encantó la bañera profunda. El diseño del baño era seguro y la ubicación de los grifos era ingeniosa, ideal para grandes y pequeños. Había espacio de sobra para mis dos maletas grandes. Me alojé allí 5 noches y volveré.

I think it is unfair that this hotel has a low score on Trip.com. The reason I say this is because people were either looking for a “cheap hotel” in Hiroshima and were surprised by how far it is from Hiroshima Station and the city center, or they assumed the hotel was located on Miyajima Island. Since there are only five reviews on Trip.com as I am writing this, I want to make clear who this hotel is suitable for and who it is not. This hotel is perfect for people who want to stay as close as possible to the Miyajima ferry and spend just one night before heading to the island the next morning. You can reach the ferry either by walking (around 30 minutes) or by taking the local tram (around a 10–15 minute ride). This hotel is not a good fit if you want to stay in Hiroshima and explore the city. It is not close to Hiroshima Station, the city center, or any sightseeing spots. The area around the hotel also offers nothing, there were no restaurants or convenience stores nearby, so take that into account. However, if your plan is to stay one night and go to Miyajima Island as early as possible the next morning, and you are traveling with limited luggage (do not bring large suitcases or any heavy luggage), then this hotel is a good choice. We had our main luggage sent to our hotel next to Hiroshima Station and only carried a small 5 kg carry-on with clothes for the next day. The walk from the nearest metro station to the hotel was about 10–15 minutes, and it was not as difficult as some reviews made it sound. Just use Google Maps and you will be fine. About the hotel itself, because of what we read, we expected nothing, but we were pleasantly surprised. The check-in process, done by machine, was instant and smooth with no issues at all. Sometimes I really wonder what people are doing when I read their experiences. The room itself was more than fine. You have all the amenities you need, the room was spacious enough for two people with luggage, the bed was big enough for us, the hotel was clean, and overall it felt like a good hotel. I was even surprised that the hotel had a laundry room.

La ubicación de este hotel es excelente. Está justo al lado del Parque Memorial de la Paz, detrás del museo, en una zona tranquila y agradable. Se encuentra a unos 3-5 minutos a pie de la parada del tranvía y a unos 5 minutos de la calle principal de tiendas. Si consigues este hotel a buen precio y solo planeas una estancia corta centrada en el Parque de la Paz, la ubicación es sin duda una gran ventaja. Sin embargo, la habitación era extremadamente pequeña. Los asientos eran incómodos: solo un pequeño taburete sin respaldo, y en mi caso, los tornillos sobresalían, lo que lo hacía inseguro e incómodo de usar. Básicamente, o estabas en la cama o fuera de la habitación. El mayor problema fue la condensación y la humedad excesivas. La habitación tenía problemas de humedad extremos: el agua corría por las paredes y las ventanas, y la cama y el suelo se humedecían durante la noche. Me desperté con los pies mojados y luego comprendí por qué. No se trataba de condensación normal; era excesiva y claramente un problema recurrente. Lo comenté en recepción al hacer el check-out, pero no le dieron importancia. Tras contactar con Trip.com y enviarles fotos y vídeos, el hotel se negó a asumir la responsabilidad una vez que hice el check-out. Trip.com finalmente me ofreció una compensación parcial, pero el hotel no se hizo responsable. Por este motivo, no volvería a alojarme aquí. No soy muy exigente con los hoteles, pero una habitación húmeda que puede provocar enfermedades es inaceptable. Además, no recomiendo el desayuno. Te dan una caja bento muy pequeña con contenido poco claro y un té embotellado. Por ese precio, es mucho mejor ir a una tienda de conveniencia cercana como Lawson. En resumen: buena ubicación, pero malas condiciones de la habitación y falta de responsabilidad por parte del hotel. Hay mejores opciones en esta zona.

Hotel muy asequible que cuenta con habitaciones limpias y tranquilas. Las habitaciones eran un poco pequeñas, pero eso ya lo sabíamos de antemano. Como ocurre con muchos hoteles japoneses, las comodidades eran de primera categoría y con un gran diseño. Intentamos utilizar la lavandería, pero siempre estaba llena: hay una lista de espera y no se permiten reservas. Fuimos a una lavandería con monedas a 5 minutos de distancia por aproximadamente el mismo precio. En cuanto a la ubicación, está a 5 minutos a pie de la calle principal de tranvías, por lo que es bastante conveniente. También a 10 minutos a pie de Hondori.

Ok, this one is difficult to rate. The room comes with a magnificient view on the sea. That's what made me chose that place. But it is remote. So, if you have no car, except walking a good 2km from the train station along a road. There is nothing to eat there. It is a stop/sleep/leave concept of hotel. Once again, if you have no car... you won't walk back the 2km to find something to eat. You sleep on the floor. No surprise here and I slept particularly well so, no complains. Just be aware of that. Toilets, bath, all is shared. Room are old but all ok and one of the biggest space I got during this trip. Furnitures are also old. You may feel like you are staying at grandma place for a while. The building, from the 70's probably, is not sound proof. You may enjoy your neighbor sleep. As I did. I did book for 2. Probably because Trip was not proposing other option or because it was the cheapest one, not sure. The lady at the entrance kept me waiting for 15mn for that reason showing that she was embarrassed to give me the keys for that already paid room. This moment was uncomfortable to say the least. The remote part, the furnitures style, the oldish atmosphere, the old room door still requiring a key and that squeak a little bit... may not please everyone. It comes with its sweet creepy feeling. Not an hotel for everyone. But damn, the view in the morning... splendid.

Esta fue mi segunda estancia en el hotel y estaba muy limpio. Está un poco alejado del centro, a unos 20-30 minutos a pie, pero los alrededores del hotel eran tranquilos y agradables. El registro de entrada y salida se hacía con máquina. Había un dispensador de agua en el vestíbulo de la primera planta, así que lo usé (no tenían té ni café, etc.).

Initially we booked the wrong night by mistake. I immediately had sent letter to the host, just 2 minutes after that mistake. And at first, host said, that they would refund without any problems, but after that he turned down our ask for refund and offered only date change, which was the problem, because the price was 2.5x more on the dates, that we needed and we would never stay at the place so expensive. In the end we had to make additional payment to stay for only one night, just to not loose the first money transfer. And host refused to talk about why he changed his initial position and what is wrong with the refund 2 months prior to the stay. Even that we had assured him, that it was really a mistake (confused ”mar” and ”may” in the app) and sent him our plane tickets,. He also told us, that he can't give us refund, because he prepared the room and because of the booking he couldn't rent room to another person and lost money, which I find highly unlike, since the first response from him was very quick and the wrong booking was made 2 hours before midnight, so it's very unlikely, that someone else would rent it. Overall, I don't think that it could be considered as hospitality. The place itself is nice, if booked for an appropriate price. Don't expect luxury, but a simple, spacious room with a balcony and a view on the road and trees.

La ubicación del hotel es muy conveniente. La terminal del ferry está a solo 5 minutos. Las habitaciones son más pequeñas que las de los hoteles comunes, pero son exquisitas y limpias. El paisaje es pintoresco. Las cenas son deliciosas. La actitud de servicio del hotel. es excelente. Super buena experiencia de servicio. Gracias a la señora de la recepción por la hospitalidad.

Todo bien, normalito, pero no sé quién estaba trasteando con la maleta en mitad de la noche y había ruido. Vi que era europeo o americano. Espero que la gente que vive en un dormitorio le preste atención. Se proporcionan todo tipo de zapatillas, lo cual es bueno. El personal de recepción es amable.
