The hotel lobby and breakfast were both very nice. However, we experienced some issues with our room. The double bed was quite small, and the room we were initially assigned did not match the photos shown when booking. When we raised our concerns, the staff did their best to accommodate us, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the process took quite a long time and involved multiple room changes. The final room we were assigned was much better and met our expectations. Had we been given that room from the beginning, our overall experience would have been significantly more positive. It seemed that some rooms have been renovated and are much newer, while others are older and less reflective of the images advertised online.

Estoy muy decepcionada con su servicio en lo que respecta a la limpieza. Entiendo que estén muy ocupados en esta época del año, pero deberían ser consistentes con la limpieza. Siempre elijo HOLIDAY IN EXPRESS porque tuve una muy buena experiencia el año pasado (Año Nuevo) en la sucursal de Escocia y fue una experiencia increíble... así que pensé que sería lo mismo aquí en HI Express Bath... Viajamos en familia y mi hijo de 11 años es autista, tiene TDAH y TOC, además de alergias... este tipo de cama (sofá cama) es inaceptable para cualquiera que se aloje allí... nos dijeron que esperáramos hasta que ocupáramos nuestra habitación para que el sofá cama estuviera listo, pero aún así no nos proporcionaron sábanas para él... realmente devastador, muy triste y decepcionante...

El hotel está situado en una hermosa calle rodeada de impresionantes edificios. Está prácticamente a tiro de piedra de todas las tiendas, bares y cafeterías. El personal es extremadamente amable y siempre sonríe al recibirte. Actúan con profesionalidad e incluso te dan ideas y sugerencias para excursiones. Nuestra habitación tenía paredes y techos increíblemente altos; sin embargo, la alfombra del suelo nos lastimaba los pies, así que recomiendo llevar zapatillas (desafortunadamente no llevamos). En resumen, fue un lugar estupendo para alojarse, con un delicioso desayuno a la mañana siguiente. Sin duda, volvería a alojarme allí.

Attended on Tuesday 27th Feb. Paid a little extra for room with a bath as like the couple ****** we are, we wanted a bath in Bath. My wife's first time ever visiting here. The hotel is a lovely setting, there is history here and all the staff have been wonderful. Close to the station, literally in front of it, and close to everything. Had the great pleasure of having many encounters with Tim, one of the reception staff and I believe concierges. Super pleasant and always helpful. We had breakfast included and after having that this morning can honestly say it's bang for your buck, with hot food to order including steak and eggs, (best steak my wife has had in the UK), a breakfast grill and a selection of others plus a typical selection of baked goods and fruits. The bar is pleasant and we enjoyed drinks last night before heading up to our room. Strawberry daiquiri we have had many times but the Amaretto sour was an interesting twist with a strong lemon zest. The only downside to the visit would be the bath/shower experience. Lukewarm bath and cold shower when we attempted it last night. This morning we got hot water for a total of ten mins to share before it went cold again. Not the worst thing all in all but a downside considering the extra pricing for a bathtub room. I was however assured that had I brought it to the desks attention I would have been assisted and I had just done the British thing of not wanting to fuss. One last perk that made an impact to me; free luggage storage. We checked out early so we could make the best of our time exploring Bath before we ride home. We were offered free luggage storage for even after we checked out so we could come back in quick before our train at 3pm and grab our bags and go, no extra charge. Fantastically useful as the Abbey tour does not allow luggage inside and we wanted to go. Anyway, thank you to Tim and all the staff at The Royal for making us feel welcomed and our time there special, we will definitely be coming back someday soon and will stay again. - Liam and Jenny Stephenson, Room 109. Me he alojado en cientos de hoteles. Ahora intento evitar los de lujo, como los de cristal y cromo. Utilizo hoteles económicos para una noche. Sin embargo, esta vez fue una escapada de cinco días para celebrar el 60 cumpleaños de mi pareja. El hotel era maravilloso, un edificio histórico bien conservado. El personal era encantador y nos hizo sentir como en casa. El desayuno, preparado al momento, y la cena, impecablemente preparada, fue excelente, y nuestros camareros fueron mejores que en la mayoría de los restaurantes. La habitación estaba perfecta, la limpiaron cuando la necesitamos y la ubicación es perfecta. Hay un autobús a la ciudad cada 15 minutos, que está a solo 3 paradas. Si visitas Bath, este es el mejor hotel donde alojarte.

The location was amazing and easy by walking in town, meet the hotel standards on cleanliness, service and location. staff is very friendly with smile especially on the breakfast time, they are really helpful. However I have booked for 2 nights with the city view queen bed room, but It’s no city view at all. Also, this room is on the upper ground floor and nearby the storage cleaning room is not the good idea for customer especially on the early morning time. The problem is the room always has a terrible noise all the time which make me terrible and can’t sleep well when I am being on the room. I have requested the room which away from elevators and good view before booking but not get anything at all.

The Hotel itself is very dated in decor, but I actually enjoyed this and it felt quite nostalgic to me. If you're looking for cheap and cheerful and you're not overly fussy then this place will do you just fine. After all I wasn't here to spend all day in the room, but to go out and explore. There was coffee and tea, fresh towels, and I was left alone for the 2 nights I stayed which I appreciate. Some people enjoy the maid service, but personally I prefer not being bothered. From all the other reviews it mentioned a fee upon arrival as an insurance for damages, but I got asked for no extra fees, so I'm guessing this is based on the larger more valuable family type rooms maybe. If you are a solo traveler like myself then the location is brilliant, as it's right next to the main beach strip, a cool little local beach front cafe which is reasonably priced, and if you have the legs for it like me, a massive nature trek to explore full of beautiful forestry and greenery. The main shopping town and Italian gardens are only a short 15 minute walk away. If you are on a budget there's a wetherspoons just 5 minutes away which is very decent and has great sea views, staff were all lovely. Staff at the hotel were also very friendly if you approached or talked to them. Only negative I'd say is that you can't book in till 3pm, but there is plenty to keep you busy nearby whilst you wait. If you are fussy and expect the Ritz, this place ain't for you, but if you are there with a fair level head and you just want cheap lodgings, then it'll do you fine for a night or two. I'd definitely stay again for the cheap price of just over 30 quid a night. Thanks and I'll be back down the line 😎

La habitación era limpia y tranquila, con todo lo que necesito una cama confortable, una buena ducha y un área de escritorio. Wi-Fi funcionaba bien y aprecié la estación de té/cafetería. Aunque el decoro está ligeramente fechado en algunas áreas, todo estaba bien mantenido. No se ha llegado con expectativas. No llegamos a ningún lugar en el Reino Unido con expectativas altas. El Real no se decepcionó! Arrivó el domingo por una estancia nocturna después del sábado noche Inglaterra semifinal. La habitación estaba bien, el baño estaba bien. La ubicación es excelente. Baja al bar para una pintura y sentarse en el ”jardín” Foto muestra lo que nos encontramos. Cocinar caliente, no hay mesa puesta y sólo un parasol se establece. Como caminar en un horno. Decidido ir a la carretera. Vacío en el bar!! Nadie fuera. Espero que tuvieran una buena noche el sábado, lamentable que no pudiéramos tener una buena comida allí el domingo. El hotel está muy decepcionado por no haber limpiado y restablecido mesas para el domingo, pero debe haber perdido una fortuna.
