"I accidentally spilled a 400ml bottle of milk. Most of it got on our unopened suitcase, and some of it leaked onto the carpet in the room. I immediately grabbed a towel from the room and laid it on the floor to soak up the liquid. A few days after checking out, I was shocked to discover that the hotel had charged us £250 without any prior email or notification explaining the reason. After contacting Ctrip, I was told that there were urine stains on the carpet in our room, requiring deep cleaning, which is why they deducted £250. I swear it was only milk that spilled! How could we possibly have urinated on the room's carpet? Plus, I had already laid down a towel to absorb the liquid right away. Furthermore, under no circumstances should a hotel directly charge £250 without first explaining the reason or asking for our side of the story. I completely disagree with this charge and will continue to file complaints.
