It’s the third time we came to Yufuin. Previously, we stayed in onsen hotels with meals provided. This time we are staying for 2 months in Japan to experience the local life, and Yufuin was our third stop, where we stayed for 6 nights. The service is top notch. The host responded very quickly whenever I had queries, and very clear instructions for free pick-up were given days before check-in. As we stepped in the house, the air- conditioner had already been turned on there were 3 big bottles of water in the fridge which made us feel so welcome. They collected our trash every day and asked us what we needed. The guesthouse is an independent unit full of beautiful Japanese decorations. It was sparkling clean and thoughtfully furnished with everything you need. A first-aid box was provided. We were given 12 sets of clean towels and toilet amenities, including toothbrushes. We have stayed in different apartments before and have never experienced this. More importantly, the kitchen was well equipped with everything—many cutlery items of different sizes and even wine glasses. There were a hot pot and a frying pan, a toaster, rice cooker, coffee machine, and even a dishwasher. You can't imagine there is even a massage chair! The bathroom was designed like an onsen. You can simply add some onsen powder to enjoy a hot bath. You can easily access different attractions on foot. The location is about a 20-minute walk to the nearby supermarkets, 25 minutes to the main shopping streets, and 30 minutes to the JR station. If you drive, it is even easier. For us, we enjoyed walking and seeing the beautiful scenery, so it was not a problem for us even though we didn’t drive. Every day we walked to the supermarkets and bought fresh produce to cook. We had so much fun making different dishes and hot pot. When we asked for a whetstone, the host quickly gave us theirs, and the next day, they bought us a new one. They even gave us sake as a gift. On the day of check-out, the host drove us to the JR station and helped us store our luggage in the visitors’ centre. Next time when we come to Yufuin, we will definitely stay here again. It’s really great value for money.

I had a truly memorable stay at this hotel. The female owner is exceptionally attentive and genuinely cares about each guest’s experience. She thoughtfully tailors everything to individual needs, and you can feel her strong sense of “kodawari” — a deep commitment to quality and detail — in every aspect of the stay. The location is wonderfully peaceful, with a forest just behind the property and a serene, well-kept garden that adds to the calming atmosphere. It’s the perfect place to relax and disconnect. The onsen is especially outstanding — very authentic and 100% kakenagashi (free-flowing natural hot spring water), which made the experience even more special. If you’re looking for a quiet, high-quality, and deeply authentic stay, this place is truly a gem.

El propietario y el personal fueron increíblemente amables. Tardamos unos 18 minutos en caminar desde la terminal de autobuses de Yufuin hasta el alojamiento. El lago Kinrin está a unos 10 minutos a pie del hotel, lo que lo convierte en un lugar ideal para un paseo matutino. Se llena a la hora del almuerzo, así que recomiendo visitarlo sobre las 8 o 9 de la mañana si es posible. La niebla en la superficie del lago en las mañanas de invierno y el sendero hacia el lago, flanqueado por un pequeño templo y un bosque, creaban una atmósfera tranquila y mística. The tatami room was clean and spacious. Walls are a bit thin. I could actually hear sound from next door or people walking around the hallway. The futon mattress was quite thin and the pillow too hard for me. Also, I found that the filters of humidifier were so dirty that I washed them myself. Toilets are shared by all guests but only one is for female (two for male). When I brushed my teeth and washed my face, I had to let the water run for a long time before hot water came out. ¥150 of hot spring tax was collected upon check-in, of which I was not informed in advance.

I was travelling with my elderly mum and we were not driving. The property is like a private house, very good location along the main street. There were restaurants and onsen just beside the property. It was very well equipped with kitchenware and the bathroom got bath tub and also standing shower. Very clean and well maintained.

Мы брали номер с завтраком и ужином, так как рëкан находился в отдалении и рядом не было кафе и магазинов. Из недостатков можно указать на то, что нам не очень понравилась здесь еда. В первый день на ужин были сукияки с очень-очень сладким соусом, это не было вкусным. Во второй день у нас был оплачена еда на троих (trip.com почему-то дал возможность забронировать только такой вариант), но нас было двое. Нам дали немного мяса и овощей, которые мы должны были сами жарить на примусе на столе. Едва было не много. Я предупредил в первый день, что моя жена не ест мясо, но его всё равно не заменили на рыбу. При этом другим гостям давали пудинги и суп, а нам не дали (видимо, на второй день это в меню не входило), что было не совсем приятным, и мы не наелись. В общем, по еде было не очень. Но впечатление в целом осталось позитивное от этого пребывания.

我們從別府乘坐36號車到由布院車站，打車到酒店1400日元，其實應該提前2個車站下車步行會比較近。酒店附近沒有便利店，所以零食汽水最好在別府買好，或者在由布院買好。店主是一位很熱情的阿姨，哪怕不會很多英語都很積極跟我們溝通，阿姨準備的食物很新鮮，很美味。因為下雪温泉眼被雪結冰了。阿姨付了我們一家人5000日元到附近的温泉浸泡。房間打開窗户可以看到山景，如果是夏天或者1月的冬天的晴天，肯定更美了。房間暖氣熱水都很足夠。酒店旁邊的停車場成為孩子玩雪的天堂，積雪雖然不多，但對於南方的孩子值了。

Yufuin Onsen Oyado Jinnouchi is within walking distance of the train station, making it easy to reach with luggage. However, check-in time is quite late at 5:00 p.m. The room is spacious but wasn't as clean as expected, and the same goes for the toilet and onsen. On a positive note, the lady at the hotel was very kind. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I’m unable to recommend this place.
