Mixed feelings. Great location and lovely staff! But we had a room where the TV wasn’t working. First night they told us they can only fix it the next day. Then the next day they said they can only do it the next day again. Plus this was after my multiple phone calls, it seemed that the maintenance team just ignored us. And the reception offered a 20% discount on room services as apologies for the long wait. In the end as they can’t do anything, I asked if we could change room. So we got a new room… with a half working tv… but with broken aircon… we called reception and was told they can control it from their end. Still not working. So we went out for dinner and asked them to check it out. When we returned, there were technicians in our room fixing the air conditioner. And we sat around outside for an hour before it was fixed. In the end, after hassling the whole day we finally had a working room at 9pm… All the staff were very polite and tried hard to resolve the issue. But I feel everything in a room should be working before guests check in. alternatively we did ask to change room again but not sure why that wasn’t considered but instead they want to keep us waiting around for another hour in the lobby.

El hotel está cerca del centro de la ciudad, a unas 3 paradas del parque Panfilov, a 15-20 minutos en coche y a unos 25-30 minutos de la calle peatonal frente a la Ópera y la calle Abai. El transporte es relativamente conveniente. y hay una parada de autobús en la puerta. También pasan muchas líneas de autobús. Es un hotel boutique y antiguo, y el mobiliario y las instalaciones son relativamente retro, con sensación de peso y antigüedad. mantenido, y la ropa de cama y el agua caliente son muy cómodas; el desayuno es rico y sabe bien. Las frutas y los bocadillos son deliciosos, el servicio es bueno y la comunicación en inglés es fluida. Desayuno para llevar, pero no sé si es el aire acondicionado de abajo. I had a wonderful stay at Swissôtel Almaty. Everything was excellent - the rooms, service, cleanliness, and overall atmosphere of the hotel. A special highlight was the spa area, which is one of the best I have experienced. It was the perfect place to relax and recharge. I would also like to give a special thank you to Elena, the yoga instructor. Her class was professional, inspiring, and suitable for all levels. It was a great way to start the day and added a lot to my overall experience at the hotel. Thank you to the entire Swissôtel team for a fantastic stay. I will be happy to return in the future.

It is located centrally, enabling travellers to have easy assess to connecting public bus services, subways, walking distance to nearby eateries, restaurants, the famous Green Bazaar and the sceneic, spacious park that housed the famous Zenkov Cathedral! All the staffs were amazing, from the frontline to the housekeeping and managers on duty. They communicated well, speak good English, and were extremely patient and helpful in answering my questions about the hotel facilities, going to certain places, etc. Although the breakfast food selection is not much, it was still outstanding - the bread were fresh, the coffee selection is excellent, fresh cut fruits, and these were sufficient to fill my appetite during my stay for the breakfast! I would definitely recommend travellers and visitors to Almaty to consider staying at the Grand Tien Shan hotel, its a ”GRAND” feeling you wouldn't want to miss! Enjoy!

Хорошее место расположения отеля, просторные номера. Уровень сервиса не соответствует заявленному. Сан. узел в отвратительном состоянии. В душевой кабине забит слив, при уборке не устраняют. Кран смесителя в душевой закрывается под собственным весом, чтобы помыться нужно его придерживать рукой. Можно мыться в ванной, но в ванной испорчен клапан блокирующий слив, сломан запорный механизм , клапан просто установлен в сифоне на синей изоленте 🤦🏻. Клапан убрать сложно, но можно, при этом в смесителе в ванной нет давления, помыть тело хватает, но волосы промыть крайне проблематично. В номере нет гладильной доски и утюга, приносят по запросу, ожидание - 20-30 минут, гладильная доска далеко не первой свежести, на продавленный металлический каркас натянут тонкий универсальный чехол, болтается складками. Нет блокировки двери (щеколды/цепочки), переключатель на замке не останавливает персонал отеля от доступа в номер, отдельное впечатление это проснуться от того, что по номеру ходит человек из службы сервиса 🤦🏻, столкнулся с этим после первой же ночи, после вывешивал табличку «не беспокоить». Если утром у вас номер не убрали, по любой причине, то номер в этот день без вашего напоминания не уберут совсем.

Novotel Almaty City Centre Hotel. Set in the heart of Almaty City, a few hundred feet from the iconic Soviet era Khazakstan Hotel and 20 to 30 minutes from Almaty Airport, this Novotel is modern, clean and with all the usual, essential amenities. Only one main downside is the room aircon is set by the hotel during winter months to run warm. It cannot be adjusted in the room so it became too hot and stuffy. We had to call an engineer who just unlocked the window security lock and we had to have the window wide open through the night allowing all the street noise below to echo into the room. A pleasant stay for a few nights if travelling onwards, but a bit pricey at £170.00 pounds sterling a night for two people!

La ubicación es bastante buena, cerca de muchos restaurantes y estación de metro. Fácil de conseguir los cabines. Caminar a la ópera y al centro de la ciudad. La habitación es grande y el baño es limpio. El único punto débil nos indica la condición aérea que es demasiado vieja para quedarse en frío.

It’s had such a great ambience. Very family friendly. We could enjoy the nature outside as tourists. The breakfast was delicious and homely. The room was really comfortable.

El único punto negativo es el desayuno cocinero que mira el fútbol en lugar de estar en su estación de huevos y numerosos huéspedes tuvieron que llamarle a cocinar los huevos
