We had am 11 day stay here. The garden and pool area of Costas and Mary provide an unexpected idyll in an otherwise dusty old dirt track so do not be misled by the approach. It has a quiet, peaceful and immaculately kept pool and garden area. The gardener/ maintenance man never stops - deadheading the flowers, watering, ****ing, brushing...and when he is not doing that he is scooping the pool or cleaning it's edges or cleaning the filter....or maybe he might be seen carrying the laundry or running up to a room, presumably to fix or adjust something. Re the garden though- we were told by Mary that spring is it's most beautiful time and that it doesn't look quite the same in summer. there is a poolside bar too manned by one of the sons of the family. It was usually fairly quiet but that may change too as the season progresses. The interior of this small hotel is spotless and rooms are cleaned daily with regular towel and sheet changing too. Mary and the staff who serve breakfast are friendly and will try to help with any questions or concerns. The rooms have a very useful little fridge and ample sockets. The large balcony we had seemed comparable to the others we could see in the hotel.I think most of them have them. There was a little table and chairs out there for having lunch or drinks on and a washing line strung across for one's use.Ours had a view of the sea in the distance.Others viewed that idyllic garden. In the room there is a TV on the wall but none of the channels are English or were of interest to us.We didn't use it. there is a good safe to use.The shower room was small. The shower cubicle was small. I am not sure how the problem could be amended but it was a small battle not to have the shower curtain start clinging to your wet body whilst you showered - we "coped" however! So the reason gave this hotel experience 4 stars and not 5 ? Although we were aware that the whole team, most of them family, are hardworking, the breakfast food was unimaginative - plain and budget quality and virtually the same every day. The yogurt was nice and there was some good milk and basic cereal. However I would have liked some healthy options available too - some dried fruit perhaps- the only actual fruit available every day seemed to be tinned peaches. Some mueseli would have been nice too.In the end we bought some of our own and supplemented what was on offer. I don't go for cooked breakfast but there was a hot dish containing some very basic, what looked like -cocktail sausages, omelette and baked beans.I ventured to have one of the boiled eggs on offer too but it was cold - I think they had been in the fridge. The bread was plain and seemed the same every day, no choice, no variety - It would have been enhanced by toasting.

Accommodation was great, small & friendly a**osphere. Fab location within walking distance to the harbour & town centre. Lovely breakfast room. Pool area & gardens well kept , pool bar & snacks served. Tuna salad delicious. Only negative was the shower head wouldn't stay upright so had to hold to shower! Not suitable for small families due to no shallow end to pool lots of returning customers staying in this lovely hotel.

Been to Skiathos town many times over the years but for some reason never noticed this place, but we have just spent 2 fabulous weeks there it is truly a hidden gem beautifully kept and spotless everywhere. The full time gardener is always on hand to pick up the slightest leaf litter from the amazing tropical gardens of swaying palms and flowering tress and bushes. The hotel consists of 3 staggered blocks with balconies facing different ways to ensure privacy. The pool is surrounded by mattress sun beds all in good order. There is a great bar which serves draft beer and snacks by day and at night on your return you can have a late drink and some banter with the mainly mature guests (adults only hotel). there is a great lounge with a vaulted ceiling with comfy seating or outside tables and chairs, the bar is run by Mary's 2 sons who provide perfect service till late. The location is 2 min from the bus station and the waterfront bars. Breakfast is served in a lovely dining room with lovely staff who you can have a laugh with Mary is always on hand to see to here guests many of which come up up 3 times a year but its not clicky in any way. Highly recommended, travelled with TUI.

This is a great family run hotel. Mary and the rest of the staff made you feel very welcoming and looked after us well. The hotel is spotlessly clean inside and out. The rooms are a good size with a nice size balcony. The beds are comfy, and you get fresh towels every day. Rooms could have done with a few more plug sockets, but we managed. If there was anything I would add it would be a hand rail at one side of the steps to the pool ( this is only because after two knee operations, I'm a bit unsteady when stepping up). Thank you Mary for helping us out when our transfer didn't arrive to sadly take us back to the airport. We will be back.

What a fab holiday. The room was spotlessly clean and cleaned every day. towels changed 2-3 times bedding changed throughout the week we were there.. Breakfast was simple but everything you needed cereal yogurt tinned fruit bread omelette small sausages beans hard boiled eggs. Pool area was good but you did have people getting sun loungers and not using them for a while even though there is a sign u asking you not to do so. It s a 5 minute walk to the marina and the bus station. buses are great stops 0-26 take you down the south of the Island and to various beaches which was great. Food was a bit more expensive than some other Greek islands we have visited a large draught Mythos 5 euros. we ate at the windmill restaurant which was nice watching the planes come in. little India restaurant was a lovely curry. We did the wine tour separately to the trip the taxi was 30 euros each way so not the cheapest. what a lovely afternoon and stunning views looking and Maria was a wonderful host. We will definitely return to this hotel as it was ideally located but probably not in August as Skiathos town was pretty busy and some restaurants had a lot of tables reserved for bookings. it seems to be about 9pm the eating time when it cooled down slightly. we didn't venture too much into the old town as it was very busy and temperature increased by about 5 degrees

What a fantastic weeks holiday we have had at Kostas and Mary. Mary welcomes you into her hotel as part of her family and there is such a friendly a**osphere. The hotel grounds are immaculately clean with beautiful gardens, a lovely pool and ample sunbeds for the day. The bar area is open from 9am until midnight with reasonably priced drinks and good seating. Breakfast is simple but tasty consisting of bread, jams, ham, cheese, butter, boiled eggs, greek yoghurt, tinned fruit, honey, homemade omelette, beans, little cooked sausages, cereals and coffee, tea, water or juice. The location is perfect a short 5 minute walk to the harbour and 10 minute walk into town but just outside of the hustle and bustle with supermarkets near by. I see a previous review describes Marys hotel as 'incredibly dated' and 'great grannys house multiplied by 10' but to me who has travelled to many cheaper, greek accommodations, this is traditional, classic greek accommodation with simple white washed walls, tiled floor, dark wooden furniture, patterned bedding and curtains and a shower with a flimsy shower curtain and we loved the charm of the place (If you want 5 star luxury, pay for a five star luxury hotel!). The towels are lovely and soft, the rooms are cleaned every day with towels and bedding changed often and there is a small fridge in the room for drinks. Thank you for a fantastic holiday, Mary. We loved every second.

This was my first time visiting Skiathos, and I used this hotel primarily for the location, as an aviation geek I wanted to be as close as possible to the famous airport! (End of the runway 4/5 minute walk) It’s that close to the airport, we walked to it for our return flight home. The hotel looks lovely from the outside, the grounds are green and well kept, the pool area is very modern and kept tidy, but the room is incredibly dated inside! Imagine great granny’s house multiplied by 10. There was one free plug socket in the whole of the room, we had to unplug the fridge overnight just for another socket. Very little on the walls other than huge cobwebs. The shower doesn’t have a screen, only a shower curtain that just made things difficult. Thats only when the shower would produce hot water, every time I went for a shower in the morning, the water would barely manage to get warm. Air con remote can be rented at I think something like €7 a day. There is also a safe in room which is payable. Towels are nice and soft. Bath mats look like they’ve been cut from random curtains. Tv had no English channels, and even the channels that it did have the reception was terrible so ended up having to watch my phone on a night. Bedding was crisp and clean. Room was attended to every day with the usual bed made etc. The small bar was always open till late, I believe 1am, with reasonable prices. The choice of food/snacks was limited, but that is understandable considering the size of the hotel. The pool had enough sun beds for the amount of people that needed them at one time. Our board was bed and breakfast, however we never had breakfast so can’t comment. I unfortunately encountered ants everywhere in my room on my final night. Which really unsettled me. I went down to reception, and was told there was nothing he could do. He had no ant spray, and supermarkets were closed till tomorrow. 10 minutes later a little knock on the door, and it was Mary in her pyjamas with a dustpan and brush. Bless her, she tried but very unsuccessfully. I don’t know how, but I managed to cope, and only because it was the final night. I’ll now take ant spray in my luggage on every holiday. Everyone in the hotel, including other guests were so friendly, it does seem most people that come here are regulars and they’re all like a big family! Mary and her family are all so welcoming! They would always greet us with a massive smile on entering and leaving the hotel! All the pros and cons considered, I wasn’t going to complain about this lovely little place. Staying for only 3 nights helped that, and so did us very rarely being in the room. Would I stay for a week here? No. But would I come back for another 3/4 night stay? Yes. Give it a try and make your own mind up!

We have been here before so knew what to expect, although only ok our 2nd time in 6 years. Pros: this place is exceptionally clean with fluffy towels, lovely garden and pool area and most importantly no reserving of sun beds!! The staff work very hard, including Mary and her sons. Rooms cleaned everyday/beds made with the towels changed regularly, can’t remember how often sheets were changed but was regular enough. Due to cleanliness we don’t mind the rooms being basic but plenty of storage and hangers in wardrobe. Lunch menu has increased and Mary’s salads are lovely. The Kostas & Mary cocktail went down well! We had a lovely balcony with a sea view. Aircon 60 euros/week, safe 15 euros/week and 20 euro tax. Cons: bathroom is small with a shower curtain, which can be challenging. Breakfast is very basic but adequate. It is VERY quiet and a much older crowd, we didn’t mind but some would. Beds/pillows not great and I didn’t sleep well but would still go back for everything else.

Spotlessly clean and very welcoming family run business in a great location within easy walking distance to town and restaurants. Beautifully maintained rooms, exceptionally clean bathroom with lovely soft towels and a soap dispenser above the sink ( no other toiletries) Plenty of storage and hangers and a hair drier and mini fridge. Fantastic pool area and immaculately kept gardens full of fragrant plants. Thank you Mary and Claudia in particular for making us feel so welcome even if Mr Cheeky did give you a fright 😉.
