We booked a last minute deal to the Electra Palace hotel and are so glad we did. It was our first time in Rhodes and first up, the quick ten minute transfer to the hotel was bliss (i'd definitely recommend booking a taxi from the airport). The hotel itself is lovely, we arrived late at night and were put up in a room in the annex overlooking the garden. The room was lovely but we'd booked a pool view room, We were moved the next day without any problems. We loved that there was so much variety at the hotel and so many areas to spend the day within the hotel, eg loved the bali double beds on the decking at the pool, the loungers on the beach etc and it all added to the experience. Likewise the options in dining and bars, the buffet restaurant, Greek restaurant, Italian restaurant were all great and we loved the wine bar too. I think the hotel is definitely more geared to adults and whilst there were children there, I think if my teenagers were there I'd have struggled to entertain them for the week. We found it was a chilled experience which is exactly what we wanted. Being so close to Rhodes town, the hotel provides a fantastic taxi service which is reasonably priced and very frequent both day and night. It was lovely to get out and about but handy all the same which was great. My only minor gripe would be I think the entertainment options could be improved upon, especially at night but apart from that we'd definitely return and all being well will hopefully do so in the not too distant future

We had a fantastic week in April ‘24 at the Sun Beach Resort with our two young daughters (three and six). The family room we stayed in was large and ideal with a separate bedroom and lounge area with kitchenette and dining area too. We stayed on a half board basis which was definitely adequate and we bought drinks/snacks from the on-site supermarket and enjoyed lunch at the pool snack bar. The restaurant where we ate breakfast and dinner was brilliant with a wide range to choose from - The head waiter of the restaurant made such a special effort with the girls whenever we saw him around the hotel it was lovely. Our eldest daughter had her birthday whilst we were there and at dinner they brought out a cake with a number ‘6’ candle and sparkler which was a wonderful gesture. All of the staff around the hotel were friendly and welcoming. Our daughters really looked forward to the evening entertainment after dinner and they made full use of the two parks on site. We all came home having had a wonderful holiday and break. We definitely recommend!

The hotel is clean and well maintained and the staff are helpful and friendly. We didn't eat in the bar so I can't comment on the food but it looked good and plentiful if a little overpriced! Be aware though that almost EVERYTHING is an extra so budget quite a bit more if you want to use sunbeds, air conditioning or wifi. We didn't as the costs were outrageous. We had a Superior Studio apartment and the beds were very comfortable and the room cleaned daily. We didn't find any of the 'complimentary' toiletries which they advertise although we had a lovely but empty liquid soap dispenser! The shower is really good and would be better if the shower screen had been bigger. They do supply a squeegee for you to remove all the water that sprays all over the bathroom floor. The shower has a fixed head and can't be adjusted and there is a switchable hand shower head for squirting your 'bits'. A good hair dryer is provided. The biggest deal-breaker for us was that in no way was it a fully equipped self-catering apartment. There is NO KETTLE, NO TOASTER and very little of anything else in the way of kitchen equipment. A coffee peculator is provided which is useless (and I stress useless) for making tea. If you want to self-cater, the very reason we booked this hotel, don't bother booking here. You will be very disappointed. If you want to eat out there are many very good restaurants within very short walking distance. You'll be lucky to get breakfast before 10:30 AM though. If you are a light sleeper then think about what it would be like sleeping within one meter of your fridge compressor turning on and off all night long. The balcony is far from private and ours had only a view of an orange tree which was sprayed with chemicals (I assume) every couple of days! It was right next to the walkway to all the other apartments which is great if you want to meet everyone while you're trying to eat your boiled egg and no toast breakfast washed down with lukewarm tea! All in all we had a great time in Rhodes and this hotel could so easily be made to be perfect but sadly I really think they are more interested in taking money than providing a comfortable self-catering holiday experience. Still gave them an above average score though for all the good reasons stated above but we won't be staying there again for all the many bad reasons. Be sure to check out the Royal bar just round the corner. The food is wonderful, the owner and staff are fantastic and the prices reasonable. A bit further on is the San Allotte restaurant which is equally good (maybe better) but more expensive.

No escribo normalmente comentarios, pero me siento obligado a dar nuestra experiencia. Nuestro cuarto estaba en el piso y abriendo la puerta mi corazón sank.it era como estar en una cueva y suena como él.sólo una puerta y una ventana en el interior de 1 a la parte de la casa para hacer que se oscurece incluso con las luces, No hay balcón ni puertas de deslizamiento para hacerte sentir como estabas en vacaciones.Incluso la puerta 1 no podía dejarse abierta debido a ninguna pantalla de mosquito en ella.Nuestros vecinos todos se quejaron de múltiples mordas cuando se durmió y así nunca tuvimos la puerta abierta toda nuestra vacaciones.The bin in the La cocina estaba llena de predecesores con la caída de la cocina y una lámpara de luz en la cocina no estaba funcionando, la cama era tan dura y las paredes tan finas era bastante embarazoso escuchar todo de nuestros vecinos. Nosotros normalmente cocinamos el desayuno, pero la cocina estaba mal equipada con ningún tostador, pan frito y suficiente luz para ver. La habitación es muy buena, pero no es muy buena. No hemos oído en el hotel, pero hemos encontrado algunos preciosos restaurantes alrededor de Ilalysos & rhode es sólo 20mins.away por autobús o 15 € por taxi.. Es una vergüenza poner a los trabajadores en las habitaciones inferiores cuando el hotel estaba medio vacío y las demás habitaciones estaban muy claramente vacías.
