SSara ElizabethGreat location inside the Glasgow Central station (and the Queen Street station is a 10 minute walk away). Room was spacious. Staff was nice, and helped me by storing luggage between my two stays with them in Glasgow while I did two nights in Loch Lomond to do some hiking and didn’t want to drag my bulky suitcase along.

DDeeeedeeDecent hotel really central. The rooms are small but you’ve got everything you need and they’re new. Breakfast was grand: my daughter loved the pancake machine. Gym had enough to keep you entertained. Lots of sitting areas downstairs with games: this was nice.

UUsuario invitadoGreat night away with some friends.. had three rooms and the hotel were very accommodating and even let us check in early. All rooms on the same corridor so it was very handy and made for a better stay for us as we were celebrating a birthday .. would recommend this hotel as a great place to stay in Glasgow. Lovely bar, great afternoon tea and friendly staff.

RRRosssWe stayed at Sandman for its proximity to Hydro for a concert. In that regard the location was good, an easy 20 minute walk. Glasgow is super hilly so be aware if you’re walking anywhere. The hotel was very good, excellent breakfast, superb nice staff. Clean rooms, fit my family of 4 well enough!

Located just around the corner from the bustling shopping street of Sauchiehall Street, you’ve got everything you need at your disposal within walking distance of this hotel! Even Glasgow’s Central station is just a short 10 minute walk away - ideal if you’re coming in from another such as Liverpool like I was!
A double room in this hotel is a fair size. To maximise on the space, Hampton by Hilton have removed wardrobes and cupboards and have replaced them with walk-in spaces. It works - the L shaped room can feel a little cosy at first, but once you’ve passed through the corridor, the main area where the bed and TV is feels quite spacious.
The breakfast provided - which is free for all guests - is to a great standard. Make sure you try out the fresh waffles which come as standard in Hampton by Hilton hotels. The breakfast area isn’t huge though, so if you come around 8.30/9am, space might be limited!
There’s also a fitness suite in the hotel which has a good range of equipment available. No windows in there though!
Some areas for improvement - the room could do with a bit of refurbishment as the furniture is looking quite tired in parts and there are a lot of scratches and dirty marks on the walls. The room is very functional rather than a luxurious stay. Having said that, Hampton by Hilton is not marketing itself as a luxury brand. It’s firmly in the budget hotel bracket, probably at a similar standard to Premier Inn - which certainly isn’t a bad thing!
Another thing to note - if you stay here during the weekend, it could be noisy. There are three nightclubs right near the hotel and on a Saturday night, the noise didn’t stop until 2.30am and this meant we didn’t get much sleep one night. However, the staff were very helpful when we flagged it with them the next morning and gave a credit for a free night’s stay at any Hampton by Hilton!
All in all, this hotel is a good base to stay whilst exploring Glasgow. It’s functional, it does the job and you’re going to be well fed during breakfast. True, there are areas for improvement, but this shouldn’t impact your overall experience too much!

La agente de check-in no pudo encontrar mi reserva a pesar de haber proporcionado todos los datos relevantes, y fue muy poco atenta con nosotros hasta que la encontró en el sistema. Por el precio, esperaba una nevera o una plancha en la habitación. No había agua en las habitaciones al llegar (¡es lo habitual en todas partes!). No había aire acondicionado, y la habitación parecía un horno, así que no pudimos dormir bien. Abrimos la ventana, pero se oía música laúd, así que no tuvimos suerte. La ubicación era estupenda y diría que el desayuno estaba buenísimo, teniendo en cuenta lo que quedaba a las 9:30 de la mañana, pero nada más.
Los dos quedamos muy decepcionados. No volveremos. Por cierto, me he alojado en varios hoteles Mercure a lo largo de los años, y este fue, con diferencia, el peor. No estoy seguro de si este hotel fue adquirido de otra cadena hotelera o de quien sea en base a las experiencias día y noche en visitas anteriores a un hotel Mercure, pero no nos hospedaremos en uno de sus establecimientos durante bastante tiempo, si es que lo hacemos... no parece valer la pena.

HHelen CJLovely room for a family of four. The front desk staff were very helpful, but unfortunately, none of them mentioned that the hotel offers a free gym and steam room/spa for guests. I only found out about this after checking out, which was a shame.
Our experience with breakfast wasn’t great. On the first day, we waited around 20 minutes for two fried eggs—one of which came overcooked and the other undercooked with a runny center. On the last day, they had already run out of croissants more than an hour before breakfast ended. Also, there were no signs indicating the availability of chocolate powder for hot chocolate, so I didn’t realise it was there until our final morning.
Additionally, the hotel advertises a free drink when signing up for membership. I scanned the QR code and signed up on the first day, but there were no instructions on how to claim the drink, so I never got to use it.

UUsuario invitadoWe went to the hotel a little earlier than check in time as we were going to the glee, managed to get checked into our room early and put our bags in and get settled before leaving. 1st time Mum and Dad so this was a much needed night away to ourselves for comedy, dinner and drinks. We arrived back to the hotel at a reasonable time and went up and enjoyed the peace and quiet of the room and enjoy the bath, well needed soak and rest. To top it all off we were both sprawled out on the king sized bed and out for the count for much needed catch up on sleep. Everything that we needed from the room was perfect and hassle free, no noise from the outside or from the bar downstairs and the leisure of an 11am check out allowed up to get up and ready at our own pace. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend this hotel.
