The hotel from the outside looks lovely but when you enter what a disappointment. This used to be a lovely traditional hotel but has been modernised badly. Beautiful log burner but hardly ever working and when asked the staff say hotel owner says it's too warm ( this is March and it's snowing outside same as the heating not often switched on the staff walk around with hats and coats on its so cold. The breakfast although supposed to be served until 10 was very often being put away at 9.30 one morning I asked for a bread roll and the reply was ( I couldn't be bothered to bake it ) there is no bar or food during the day apart from weekends ( very poor) the evening meal menu never changes they do have a Sunday roast but it's not the best. The bedroom walls are very thin you can hear your neighbour talking and at night the bar turns the music up. No wardrobes or any place to hang a wet coat. there is a communal hall at the side of the hotel and there were two weddings there that went on till 4 am which according to staff is quite common. The staff are lovely and try their best but they need managing as it's not a playground we were very disappointed and would not stay there again, if we had not paid upfront for it we would of gone elsewhere. Considering the price charged by this hotel you would expect a lot more.

We had such a great stay at Hotel Du Lac. The staff were super kind, fun and friendly (especially Amandine and I think, Remy, on the bar - both who made us excellent cocktails and shared a limoncello and homemade strawberry liquer with us too. These two are such an asset to the hotel and couldn't do enough to help). Other great things: The setting is amazing with a beautiful view of the lake. The free ski bus comes every half an hour and drops/picks up right outside the hotel. The food is EXCELLENT. The Sunday roast was exceptional and rounded off a day in the mountains perfectly. Great wine, a warm, buzzy atmosphere. We would 100% return.

Just three nights for a quick snowboarding trip, and the hotel was great. Great location, lovely people working there and fabulous food. With the bus stop outside the hotel, access to Ardent and Morzine was easy. Just don't miss the last bus, long walk uphill 🤣 Thanks all

Arrived after a 14hr drive from UK, hotel seemed nice but no help offered with luggage and no lift. We had arranged for hotel recommended ski hire to be told by reception it would be doubtful skiis would be dropped off that night....we called them directly and they arrived within 10mins...As the hotel is in the middle of nowhere and we were tired we asked about eating in the hotel restaurant. We were almost discouraged as the hotel had a large booking coming in within the hour..we kind of had to promise to eat quickly...food was nice but didnt really feel welcome, hence no more dinners eaten in hotel...the large booking hadnt turned up by the time we had finished eating either!..Rooms were ok, comfy beds, clean but limited toiletries and no renewal of tea tray all week, which bearing in mind you couldnt get any drinks in the hotel after breakfast until dinner was not great. No TV in rooms. Breakfast was ok but didnt expect to have to pay extra for a cappuccino...some days we didnt ski all day..nothing available in the hotel in the afternoon so went to the neighbouring hotel around the lake for delicious hot chocolate and cake...would recommend this hotel L'Auberge Du Bout Du Lac..a couple of nights the bar was noisy and we could hear this in our rooms...Ultimately the snow wasnt that great whilst we were away so we decided to check out a night early...our bill had 250euros of food and alcohol added...our initial challenge was met by 'well you're going to have to pay it' i think after my husband's calm refusal to this the lady on reception (who kept telling us she worked in the restaurant) went through the bill line by line and agreed to remove the items added in error..no apology given...such a shame this hotel could be great as said lovely looking place, lovely location...poor customer service, no consistent hotel management in place, the hotels automated emails ask for feedback which was given but no response hence leaving this review, we wouldnt come back...

Stayed in hotel du lac from the 27th December 2023 until the 2nd of January 2024 as a family of 4. The hotel is placed in an amazing landscape between the lake and mountains, perfect for skiing and snowboarding with free “navete’s” (bus) from the hotel to the lifts (in just 7-10m). As a customer you will notice that the hotel is split in two parts, the reception/rooms and the restaurant/ bar. The facilities are OK providing the basics. Bathroom amenities are short with only a liquid soap left (with different brands in each room). Since the hotel is isolated if you ask for transportation to Montriond or Morzine the only answer we got was that the only solution was to use the hotel driver (Andrew, a great person) and since he’s not omnipresent several times you feel stuck at the hotel. The weird thing is that when you arrive to Morzine you can find is the restaurant’s walls and near the tourist office place a list of 10 taxis/ drivers, which is odd against the limited option that the hotel provides to guests. Also when the reception is asked for the use of the hotel transportation is not a straightforward process “you have to book in advance”. Luckily when we met Andrew he was so forthcoming and put us completely OK to call in anytime to pick up us up, really great. Access to rooms is made by stairs which is not great in the luggage carrying part without elevator or someone at the reception to help you with that. I’ve stayed in many hotels for the last 30 years and I think it was the first without that attention. About the second part of the hotel, food of the restaurant is very well cooked with excellent flavours. Very good raclete and new year’s eve dinner. Still the breakfast should improve a bit in diversity and freshness of the fruit, not using canned ones. The spark in the hotel is part of this hotel staff, mainly Remy and Amandie, they gave life and light to our stay, always interacting, always with a smile, super available, kind and dedicated. Our review would be defined a 3 to the first part (reception / rooms) and a 5 to the restaurant/ bar, making it a 4/5 review. Wrapping up Hotel du lac is set in a great landscape, close to transportation for ski lifts needing better customer service at the reception/ rooms and having a good restaurant / bar team as an important part of customer service, as they play an important part of the aprés-ski and dinner time. Every hotel does not differentiate itself unless it provides a unique experience, and for sure the hotel management should look at restaurant/ bar team, as they are a keeper.

We were staying in Moriond and ate here one night. The restaurant felt a little soulless to start with (modern hotel vibes) but it soon filled up and got some atmosphere. Food was very very good. Trout dish - superb. Baked Mont D’Or cheese to share also delicious. Shame they had run out of a veggie dish and Malbec wine but the staff were very friendly and suggested good alternatives. This place would be amazing for a daytime meal just for the lake views! Outdoor terrace looked large too for a warmer day.

We dined outside on a summers evening and absolutely loved our meal! The service was fantastic, our french waiter was very funny and attentive. We had starters, mains and puds and plenty drinks which were all delightful! I had a salmon tartare, salmon for mains and then a pistachio crême brûlée which was amazing!! The atmosphere here is lovely and our evening was very enjoyable. We will definitely be back in winter!

Booked here for a night to surprise my husband for our 25th wedding anniversary. Staff were lovely, upgraded our room to overlook the lake. Put roses on our table at dinner. Amazing food, very reasonably priced. Lovely atmosphere. Lovely hotel. Will definitely be back . Thank you for making our anniversary so special.

From the moment we arrived, greeted with a really warm welcoming, we where made to feel as if we where the only “VIP” guests. The hotel itself is really nice, beautifully presented in all areas with lovely views across the lake, but it is the superb staff that really make this hotel very special, they have created a unique atmosphere, a superb team that make this a really superb hotel. The food here is also of a very high standard, we ate here 3 out of our 4 nights and each evening enjoyed some exceptional food. If you get the chance The Sunday roast is not to be missed!
