My wife and I were attending a wedding in the Villa Abbondanzi and decided to stay for another seven days. The receptionist was extremely helpful, and warned us that the hotel was fairly remote. We wanted a quiet break so that was OK. The hotel was busy on the night of the wedding and we could only get an upstairs room - nice room, but we are both disabled and the stairs were a challenge. They moved us into a ground floor suite the next day - clean and comfortable. Our only quibble is that it could have done with a table in the balcony/living room. We had planned to swim and relax but unfortunately the outdoor pools were closed. We had a nice swim in the Sensory pool (outdoor but heated) but this then also closed. So we made use of the jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. A weird side effect was that the pool bars also closed and the main hotel had no bar - a hotel with no bar is a very odd concept. It didn't worry us but I can see it being a problem for some. But what a lovely place. There is a forest of magnificent, mature trees, a flamingo pool, a vegetable garden and storks nesting on the lampposts. Everything is clean and well kept. The Five Spoons (I forget the Italian name) is a very good fish restaurant, and the Pink Flamingo is very high class with a wonderful tasting menu - not cheap, but a bucket-list experience. Things may be different in the summer, but this hotel is perfect for a quiet break off season. The taxi service to the nearest town (Faenza) is inadequate but that's not the fault of the hotel. A final warning though - the lovely environment attracts flying insects as well as guests. Bring plenty mosquito repellant.

Ciertamente el hotel está situado en el centro de Faenza. Aunque tener una buena ubicación es importante, no es lo prioritario . Lo RELEVANTE es que la estancia, y más en un viaje de ocio, sea satisfactoria y se ajuste a lo que se ha reservado y pagado. En este caso, no lo ha sido. El 10 de junio, contratamos a través de Booking, una habitación con altas prestaciones No era de categoría estándar, ni doble superior, sino una ”Junior Suite”. En la información y publicidad figuraba que las Junior Suite eran modernas, luminosas y con vistas a la ciudad, renovadas, con armarios, sofá y con desayuno incluido. La habitación que nos adjudicaron , nº 203, lo único que se podría considerar ”moderno” era el cabecero de Polipiel. La habitación no era ni luminosa ni con vistas a la ciudad. Era: ”Tétrica. oscura; mal oliente; deteriorada; con ruidos, tanto de la maquinaria como los provenientes de las cañerías y del piso superior; con mosquitos u otro tipo de insecto que con su picadura hacían sangrar y heridas con postilla, que aún tenemos después de una semana. LAS VISTAS eran a un mini patio donde estaban los extractores, maquinarias y conductos de salida. Ventana sucisima (se supone que debido a la grasa o vapores que despidan esos elementos) que no se podía abrir. Armario sin ningún tipo de puertas, teniendo que dejar a la vista todos nuestros enseres. Sin sofá. Las mesillas de noche y en general el resto del mueble distinto a las fotos, y bastante mal cuidado. Antigua : suelos de madera deteriorados, el mármol de todo el baño no era nuevo ni renovado, ni siquiera estaba pulido o abrillantado , con las juntas negras y gastadas, desprendiendo malos olores. Las toallas gastadísimas, secaban mal y con un color ”indeterminado”. Aunque en la reserva figuraba que teníamos desayuno incluido, no les constaba y no nos dijeron nada a lo largo del día ni a la mañana siguiente. Nos fuimos sin desayunar; aunque pagamos el precio completo .el precio de la habitación . En cuanto al resto de servicios ni ofertaron ni informaron de ninguno. Conserje no vimos, y a la habitación ni nos acompañó nadie ni indicaron como llegar. Se limitaron a entregar la llave y decir que estaba en la segunda planta. Medidas contra Covid, escasas: Gel a la entrada del hotel y cristal de seguridad en recepción. No distanciamiento, ni mascarillas en casos necesarios, no pidieron ningún tipo de documento relacionado con el Covid (vacunación , pruebas, termómetro...). Resumiendo: No es una Junior Suite. Nos sentimos engañados y estafados por pagar por algo que ofertaron pero no recibimos. No es apta para alojar a nadie y mucho menos sin su consentimiento o con engaños. Deberían de asumir responsabilidades.
