La Bella was the worst hostel I've ever been to, with fleas, dampness and rust in the lockers. La Bella Hotel takes guests on the first and second floor into normal rooms at $50+ per night, and they decided to organize a hostel in the basement, and save money on everything and guests. Accommodation in a damp basement cost me 463 turk lira, ~$20 per night. I lived from July 13 to July 16. Pros: + the hotel is located near Taksim Square. + hotel staff was friendly and helpful, spoke good English Cons: !! The extension cord is dangling with bare wiring, this is unsafe and can lead to electrocution! !! There was a flea or lice jumping on the carpet (last photo), you need an insect treatment right away!! !! The bathroom is in terrible condition: the faucet in the sink dangles and does not hold, the toilet bowl leaks badly! The entire shower is rusty! - I found the hotel from the third time. The signage is so small that it is easy to miss. - The neighborhood is extremely unsafe, it is better not to walk there at night. - All the amenities in the room: a hard old chair (photo 1), barely working dusty air conditioner (photo 2), rusty lockers (photo 3). Out of 6 lockers in normal condition only 3, in the rest the lock was torn off, or they are rusty and bad smelling from inside. - The bunk beds are terribly unstable, every movement of your neighbor rocks the bed like a boat. - There was a damp and musty smell in the basement - The sewer and water pipes were very audible, very loud noises if someone turned on the water in the neighboring bathroom. - The hotel staff goes to the same restroom that guests go to. - Every day the staff cooked something meat in the kitchen, which has no extractor hood and because of this there was a constant smell of food, things absorbed the odors - When I asked for an iron, I had to iron my clothes on my own bed because they didn't have an ironing board! I checked out a day early because of these horrible conditions, I was not refunded my money for the unlived day. Those who are looking for accommodation in Istanbul, look at other options, don't spoil your vacation.
