For example, despite no one being present in the gym or stretching area all day except for the staff, you're required to wear shoes, and multiple managers will enforce this rule rigorously until you leave. However, in the busiest area on the beach, where tables should be designated for coffee or prosecco, people set up all-day sunbathing spots, disregarding the rules, or they are simply too difficult to enforce. If you want to avoid the noise and activities of children, you must use the adults-only beach, located in the worst part of the hotel right next to an ongoing construction site, which doesn't befit a five-star hotel. I'm not sure why this area has different, old loungers and small sun umbrellas instead of the imported sand found in other areas; here, the ground is hard-packed. Even if you pay $150 a day for a beach cabana, you can't expect luxurious treatment. Apart from a fridge stocked with soft drinks (without cups), there's nothing pleasant about it, and all drinks are served in soft plastic cups, and coffee in paper cups. Furthermore, the proximity to construction, noise, and dust effectively ruins relaxation in this area. It's much cheaper and better to use the beach restaurant as a beach club, where you can enjoy prosecco and coffee in glassware, but unfortunately, everyone uses this bar as a beach spot, making it difficult to find a place. The worst part of the entire hotel is the main restaurant, where the adult area is only separated in the middle of the restaurant, and there's still a lot of noise and chaos due to insufficient staff and unsupervised children. The à la carte restaurants are very good, but unfortunately, there are no designated adult-only areas, which ruins the romantic atmosphere."

Context Travelling with 2 adult children, we were advised to book a 2 bed pool villa. This ended up being a one bedroom with twin beds in the living room and a small ensuite that you could only reach by going through the main bedroom so zero privacy. The website states one bathroom- this is untrue it’s an ensuite. Feedback was given to duty manager on this. So we upgraded to a 3-bed executive pool villa as that is the next grade up. We ended up paying 25% more overall for this upgrade. Overview The hotel infrastructure is lovely, it’s spacious, well kept and very green. Plenty of space for sun loungers on the beach, lots of pools and small eateries. Plenty of restaurants. It has a dive centre, tennis and squash courts and a kids club. It also ran a bus shuttle service around the hotel- which we never used as we were close to everything and preferred to walk. Pros Lots of places to eat though the main restaurant had the most variety and catered quite widely in different cuisines Hotel grounds very well kept and they had made a huge effort for Christmas and New Year's in terms of decorations and setup The executive pool villa 3-bed was spacious and had a shared pool and it was surrounded by hedges for privacy Staff were generally pleasant and polite Spa and gym were of a very good standard Plenty of entertainment in the main area if you fancied it but it was too cold for us in the evenings to sit outside. Cons Rooms were not cleaned to a 5-star standard. Dust not cleaned properly and areas not vacuumed carefully Our bathroom had some horrible damp/sewage smell- I’ve seen that in a few other reviews (we mentioned this to the butler, nothing was done about it) Our butler (as we had the exec villa) could not understand a word we said. We had 3 days of desperately communicating with him and his replacement, we sent photos and even used Google translate but to no avail. A turn down service should have been provided whilst we stayed there but none was provided until after I complained on the 2nd last day - so we had one evening where this service was provided despite asking the butler every day. Housekeeping kept bringing towels and handing them over-again misunderstanding. No quiet space in the sun, as an avid reader there wasn't many places in the main area that couldn’t hear the bellowing music from the main pool side. Even the adult only bar with amazing views was not immune so I had to sit around my room area for some quiet time. Food The hotel seemed to cater for one palette- Russian. Despite having a variety of cuisines, everything was terribly bland and tasteless. The chocolate desserts were probably the biggest let downs as the quality just wasn’t there. Mangal restaurant was probably our best experience as the food was BBQd in front of us so had a great aroma. The quality of food just wasn’t up to a 5-star grade. This is a beautiful hotel, modern and super clean. We had a suite which was perfect for our party - two adults and two infants. The beds are unbelievably comfortable. Every part pf the hotel - from afternoon tea in the lobby daily, to live classical performances at dinner each night, to golf cart buses, feels like luxury. The food is varied and plentiful - especially the grill outside daily for fresh fish and shrimp. The Turkish a la carte was 10/10. The grounds are beautifully kept also. What really makes this hotel special is the staff. I have rarely encountered such friendliness and attentiveness . Our children were so happy here because the staff went out of their way to interact with them at every chance, rarely missing an opportunity to make them giggle (special thanks to Tamer in the main restaurant and Hossam a grounds cleaner). We encountered a couple of issues and the management team were second to none - checking on us via whatsapp and checking in in person also (a huge thank you to Nadya and Dasha - truly above and beyond). The cabanas at the beach are lovely (with butler service) and definitely recommend if you have small children. A wonderful stay and we would definitely love to return!!

This was the second time visiting Rixos, first time in Egypt. It was the best experience I've ever had on a holiday. The resort, the location, the people, the food. All second to none. I hope to come back year on year as we have built amazing friendships. We were welcomed and treated like royalty from the night we arrived and until we left. Hotel concierge were very accommodating as we needed an extra bed in one room, and suggested a larger room, so that the extra bed would be comfortably. The room just overlooked the sea and it was amazing to wake up looking over the sea every morning. Our house keeper, Abdul-Aziz, was very accomodating, and made us feel at home making sure we had everything we needed. It was lovely talking to him and helped us with our greetings in Arabic. Bed sheets were changed everyday, mini bar was refilled every day, towels were replaced everyday. The food was astonishing. The staff were all so friendly, and polite. Pulling out chairs, laying our napkins, the small things to make our stay feel special. Out family built an amazing relationship with Ahmed Gad, Magdy Aziz and other staff, and I hope to see them again next year. Our last lunch with the team was quite emotional. We tried all the restaurants, other than the Panorama and the quality of food was 10/10 every time. Asian restaurant was particularly amazing because I love Asian food, and I'd never eaten sushi so fresh and tasty before. One of the bus drivers, Ayman Elsayed, was amazing. We really bonded and I hope to see him again next year. He exclaimed his love for Craig David and we even had a singalong whilst going round on our way back to the room. The pool and beach staff were all amazing too. Setting up our loungers, and providing towels very time. I'd taken two towels for no reason. And again very accommodating when it came to drinks. The lobby bar was also lovely, with live music being played at times. It was very calming and we sat a chatted for hours because it was so comfortable. The staff too were very nice, making sure we had drinks, and making sure we were warm in the evenings when the temperature dropped. The snorkelling experience was worth every penny. Mahmoud made the trip 10x more fun. My sister was absolutely terrified of getting on the boat, and to swim with the fish. Mahmoud made her feel very comfortable, to the point where she didn't want to get back on the boat. It was an amazing experience swimming with the fish at a coral reef. An experience I'd never done before and couldn't believe I hadn't done sooner. I've bought a snorkel so that I'm prepared for the next time we go! Kantana at the Anjana Spa was my masseuse and it was lovely. She made me feel very relaxed and even checked in that the pressure wasn't too much. She found knots I didn't even know I had and the scrub made me feel like a baby! The place and the atmosphere are largely created by the people. A big thank you to the staff (especially Mr. Ahmed Mohamed from the restaurant and for cleaning the room thank you Mr. Waleed) for their care and dedication, you all have my admiration. The hotel is beautiful, the service is of a very high standard. Wi-fi on the beach, great choice of food, clean environment, many swimming pools, drinks with service on the beach and much more. In a word, excellent! I look forward to coming back.

Amazing stay at this place. The most breathtaking experience was at the Brazilian restaurant. We started with salads and later we had 5 different meals made by our chef Elhoseiny Mahmoud. He described us the meals in details, how was it prepared and it was truly delicious. We were taken care by Mahmoud Abdo which was such a pleasant experience. Thank you so much for amazing stay.
