Schloss Basthorst

Don't get me wrong, this hotel is absolutely beautiful. Whoever designed it deserves lots of praise. It's so beautiful that you wouldn't think that someone could ruin it, but somehow they managed to find that person. The management runs the place like it's some sort of pay-by-the hour hotel, treating you like you're a potential criminal and charging you for towels. I don't think I've had to pay for a towel since my backpacking days many years ago. Even hostels have stopped charging for towels. We extended for a 3rd night (we hadn't yet had to deal with many of the staff at this point) so I requested a new set of towels for myself and my family and they wanted 20 Euros! For 4 bath towels and two hand towels! And keep in mind, their towels and incredibly thin. I can't think of a hotel or even a hostel that I've stayed at where they provided their guests with such flimsy towels. I'm sure that they buy these towels in bulk and probably cost about 1 Euro each, yet they wanted 20 Euros for me to borrow them. This after spending 600 Euros on the room, 300 Euros at their restaurant for dinner and 37 euros to use their pool. (Yes, they even charge you to use their pool). Then on our last morning there, we decided to try their buffet breakfast, which wasn't cheap, which is fine, but every single time that I went to get a plate of food or a glass of orange juice an employee would chase me down to see if I really belonged there. I mean, do they really have a problem with Americans driving 30 km from the nearest city to the very end of a road in the middle of nowhere at 9 am to try to sneak a free breakfast? So, I'm not saying to not stay here. I'll even stay here again the next time we're visiting our relatives (if they let me after writing this review). It is very clean and very charming. I just think that management should visit some other hotels to see how they operate. But next time I'll bring my own nice fluffy towels.

MOZZARELLA VON WEGEN VOM BÜFFEL/ NACH NICHTS GESCHMECKT. UND DA HABE AHNUNG KOMME AUS DER REGION/ HERKUNFT. ESPRESSO WAR EINE BRÜHE. ALLES OHNE LIEBE/ LEIDENSCHAFT. ZIMMER BETT/ MATRATZE STRAMM UND PLASTIK BEZUG/ DECKE. TV 11 PROGRAMME! USW …. DANN KOMMEN DILETTANTE ANTWORTEN AUF ANDERE PORTALE DIE NICHT DER WAHRHEIT ENTSPRECHEN! VORSICHT!

Wir haben ein Wochenendarrangement gebucht inkl. zwei Drei-Gänge-Menüs. Für die Übernachtung haben wir das Schloss ausgewählt und waren sehr begeistert vom Ambiente. Dass das Bett leider ziemlich gequietscht hat, hat auch ein bisschen zum besonderen Charme beigetragen. Hervorzuheben ist das wunderbare Essen und die unglaublich freundliche Bedienung im Restaurant. Auch der Spa- Bereich war sehr ansprechend. Wir haben uns absolut wohlgefühlt und kommen gerne wieder!

Tolle Anlage und super nettes Personal. Wir haben unsere Auszeit hier sehr genossen. Auch mit der einzigartigen Sauna Landschaft, Spaziergänge im Wald und ein sehr edles Restaurant. Dieses Hotel können wir allen gerne weiterempfehlen.

Schönes Hotel, schöne Gegend. Die Spa-Anlage ist besonders empfehlenswert. Das Frühstück ist mit €28 aber viel zu teuer, besonders wenn man wie ich sehr wenig zum Frühstück isst. Da in der Gegend es keine andere Möglichkeit gibt, ist man dazu praktisch gezwungen, dort zu frühstücken.

Super Ausstattung, sehr ruhig kein Lärm, sehr schönes Umfeld mit Park, tolles Essen, super freundliche Bedienung,Spa Bereich toll,kurze Entfernung zur Schweriner Innenstadt,alles in allem ein sehr schöner entspannter Kurzurlaub

Das Hotel und die Umgebung bieten Raum für gute Entspannung, den SPA Bereich kann man gut nutzen, das Abendessen und das Frühstück passen nicht zum Preis und Qualität nicht zu den Sternen/ Geschmack lassen wünsche offen; Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit;
