Family of 7 went for Sunday lunch,one of the worse meals we have had Waitress didn’t seem to have a clue what she was doing,food came really quick was piping hot. There was water on plate from vegetables,needed steak knife to cut beef although lamb was stunning. Gravy was very thin.Food was very bland Seemed it was all pre cooked and warmed up in microwave Dessert was more appetising with a wide selection. Three people were under the weather and didn’t go so lost the deposit for them even though some restaurants take it off the final bill but that’s why deposits get paid so I accepted that

Traditional pub and restaurant with rooms. Large car park. Quiet and surrounded by houses, gardens and greenery. Slightly dated decor but warm and welcoming. Very clean, nice big room. Warm - in fact a tad too warm overnight, we had to open windows! Excellent value and cooked breakfast included. Happier staying here than in corporate hotel in Newport centre, very friendly barely a 10 minute bus ride away and less in a car.

We chose this pub for convenience to Newport, price, parking & food availability. We received an excellent welcome & were well looked after throughout our stay. The room was good, quiet & clean. The bathroom was dated but perfectly adequate. The food was very good - cooked breakfast & restaurant meals too.

It was interesting to experience a stay in an old pub. The pub closed at 8:00 p.m. and you had to check in before they closed.
To get to the room, we had to walk behind the bar and up a flight of stairs. Little availability
of connections to charge your devices.
Nice English breakfast included.

SHOCKING ATTITUDE Went for lunch with family. My husband had inedible cod with chips and peas. Complained to the owner, who was rude and not bothered at all. He said it is not a thick piece of steak it is a piece of fish! Did not apologise for the terrible food or offer an alternative. Really shocked that someone in hospitality can afford to be that rude and expect to stay in business. Would have staved for dessert but due to attitude decided to give it a miss. Owner needs to go back to charm school! Definitely do not recommend eating here!

This is a traditional style pub and B&B. The facilities were good and the food was really tasty, good quality and very generous portions. The most outstanding thing was the staff. They were so friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend if you are happy with less mod-cons

Well located Inn with a big free car park. Very friendly staff on hand to greet you and check you in. Rooms are in keeping with the age of the inn, and are very clean and well maintained. Bed was
comfortable although the pillows could do with replacement. All in all great value for money!
