El hotel no está en Taormina, según donde buscas información parece que esté a 1 km del centro y no es así, está muy alejado. Imposible ir y volver andando. Donde está el hotel no hay apenas nada que hacer, y lo único bueno que tiene el hotel es la piscina pero... cuando realmente se está bien que es cuando empieza a bajar el sol (18:15 h) viene un Sr. nada amable y te dice que cierra. Aunque estés feliz y relajado bañándote y chapoteando, con tus niños, con tu pareja, tu solo... te dice que fuera. Me quejé, pero el Sr. de recepción, que si fue muy amable, me dijo que eran las normas, que me entendía, pero que no podía hacer nada. El desayuno, sin comentarios, se te va el hambre y muy poco cuidado todo. El resto de personal fue muy amable.

Elegimos este hotel por azar y nos hemos alegrado muchísimo. El aspecto interior de las amplias habitaciones es como de Parador, pero la amabilidad del personal y el trato familiar es reconfortante. Han hecho una enorme inversión para disponer de una piscina y es sumamente agradable d**** un baño tras visitar Taormina. Además, es muy recomendable d**** un paseo por el pueblo Castelmola. Si vas por la noche en verano, en la plaza del Duomo te enamorarás del ambiente.

Fabulous place. Very hospitable, charmingly and uniquely decorated, unsurpassable view of Etna (from the superior room). Breakfast was generous, with lots of choice and Sicilian specialties. Reception staff were all helpful and knowledgeable. Pool and terrace were great, with splendid views. Associated restaurant (La Caverna) is in a cave and worth a visit. Castelmola is a pretty village (bit touristy but not as much as Taormina). Only drawback is you definitely need a car, and it’s a bit of a (hairy) drive to go anywhere else. But we were much happier staying there than in Taormina, which is way too crowded (and more pretentious).

Lovely, relaxing and breathtaking hotel. All staff from reception to cleaners were friendly, helpful and did all they could to make our break memorable. Good room and a wow factor view of Mt Etna. Bedroom clean and very comfortable. Pool area and outside seating clean and tidy. The food at breakfast was superb with a wide range to choose from and I looked forward to it every day. I am glad we stayed at this special place and I really do hope we can return in the not too distant future.

Honest review: Hospitality 5/5 Room 3,5/5 View 6/5 Food 5/5 Location 4,5/5. This place is a gem! The town Castelmola is located in such a dreamy place on top of a huge hill and the view from the hotel is just from another world. You can't understand it unless you see it your self. The level of hospitality the hotel and the restaurant staff offers is worth 5 stars for sure. We spent our honeymoon in Villa Sonia and we could not be happier. Very highly recommended!

Very helpful friendly staff. They helped us rent a car that came to the hotel. At the end of the stay we just left the keys at reception. The stay was very convenient. Calm and scenic location. Walking distance to restaurants. Clean. Highly recommended

Just returned from two weeks at the Villa Sonia. Beautiful setting, spectacular views from our bedroom, pool and breakfast patio. It is well worth upgrading the room to make sure you have a view of Etna. What a wonderful experience to wake up to this view every morning. The staff are brilliant at the hotel, especially David on reception, he truly is the jewel in Villa Sonia’s crown. A true gentleman nothing is too much trouble, many thanks David. We thoroughly enjoyed our walks up to the village, sitting in the square, people watching and eating the amazing ice creams. You could have a different flavour each day! We found some brilliant restaurants in the village so well worth the climb up the steps, beautiful authentic shops for those souvenirs to take home. Villa Sonia run a courtesy bus down into Taormina which we used, beautiful ride down allowing us to drink in all the spectacular views. Villa Sonia has an amazing restaurant just a short walk up the road, well worth a visit. Ask to have a table in the cave, we loved it! Villa Sonia is a quirky individual hotel, with many beautiful artefact's in the whole hotel. It would have been good to have the bar open in the evenings to relax and enjoy the surroundings before retiring to our room. We are so pleased we found you.

Spent a fantastic week at the hotel villa Sonia this October. Staff are really friendly and hospitable. Very helpful despite some language barrier which is all part of the experience. The views are unbelievable and I just couldn’t get tired of looking at them from the room balcony or the pool and dining area. Location is perfect for a short walk to castelmola or a quick bus ride to Taormina. Castelmola has restaurants and shops, a small well stocked mini market and a pharmacy. You could easily eat at a different restaurant every night for a week. The caverna restaurant attached to the hotel is a great experience with lovely food. Highly recommend hotel.
