Lake of Shadows Hotel

Ordered Sunday lunch which the food came out and I waited on my extras that I ordered "gravy and a bowl of chips" few minutes past and still no sign on the extras. Had to go and ask a staff member about them which I waited another 10 mins, still no sign and had to ask another staff member. My food was cold by this stage when the gravy and chips came out! A staff member came to clear the table and ask was everything OK. I explained what had happened and she said you should of ask someone to "reheat" your food. Food was 3/10. I have ate many times in here and most certainly will be my last!

5 Star Chaos. Burning smell in bedroom, dismissed in a three second check of the room. Loud music until 2am followed by outside crowd noise until 3:30. Then Fire alarm at 6:30. Impossible to sleep with two children. Staff very young but courteous, food not bad but as expensive as a much better rated hotel within walking distance. Definitely will not be back.

We attended the hotel as a family group and normally head down when a round buncrana a town which we love so much. The hotel was empty and we all ordered our food and the service was quick. We got food and it was very dry and we asked for more gravy which was then charged to our bill ???!!! - gravy in short supply ??? 5 euro for chips , 5 euro for onion rings !!! - a complete rip off and we won’t be back as it’s not worth the extortionate prices they are now changing. The food was ok, service ok and ridiculous prices - we won’t be back and have told anymore we meet to stay away also as money is too hard to come by I’m afraid !!! - charging for extra gravy was a joke and the last straw .. take a look at yourselves for this nonsense !! - first time have EVER had this farce in a hotel … STaY away folks - an over priced ripoff !!

Lovely room very clean and comfortable great night’s sleep in super comfortable beds Had booked bed breakfast and evening meal Breakfast was fine but the set menu for evening meal was certainly not up to usual standard of food in this hotel very bland and tasteless however we enjoyed our stay maybe next time we will just use the a la carte menu as before

We were here for a couple of nights in April while seeing the area and we were very happy with our stay. Our room was comfortable and quiet and the food was really great. The location was very convenient for our plans. I’d stay here again if I’m in town.

I love the feeling of this hotel, whenever we visit buncrana we try to have lunch/dinner here. We have recommended the hotel to friends when visiting and they have been very complimentary of how they enjoyed staying here. We are planning a family function here and Patricia the manager has been very helpful and on the ball…. Keep up the good work 👍👍👍

Visited this Hotel to see friends. An absolute Gem--a good room at a good price. Breakfast was excellent--good quality and FILLING !!! Room was very comfortable. Was able to access Pool in Sister Hotel--The Inishowen Gateway Hotel

We got in here last minute. We were supposed to be in Sligo Town this night but we missed Donegal too much to stay away. Thanks to our guide and driver Henry we got in here the same day! This place was absolutely lovely, the room and restaurant were charming. Everyone was friendly and helpful. It was in walking distance to the beach and the town! Loved it here!

It wouldn't be the easiest hotel to find unless you're looking for it or knew it was there...and if you've missed it what a treat you have missed...Great staff, great food comfortable and welcoming It's walkable from the Main street...2 blocks....though with my mobility issues it takes me a little longer...and not far from the shore front if you are in the car.....car parking available opposite beside the former Ftuit of Loom factory We had booked a Dinner bed and breakfast stay and the food.....OMG.....3 courses of culinary heaven....breakfast next morning was the best I've had in Buncrana....it speaks volumes when people come in off the street just for breakfast....especially given its location As I was in reception I heard a guy on the phone....."I'm having breakfast in the lake" I'm thinking.......hope he doesn't get his feet wet! The waitress at dinner was cheery and chatty as was rge girl at breakfast...and neither could do enough for you...my wife's working arrangements make it difficult to plan in advance but the next available time (after payday) a reservation will be made for the first of many return visits
