Travelling to BNE every 15 days and I used to stay in the CDB, even when attending some conferences in BCEC. Due to a last minute booking, I ended-up at the Novotel few months ago, and this place is officially my new HOME when in town. Clean and tidy very modern quiet rooms, 100m walk from exhibitions halls (thanks to a shortcut at the back), with a 24/7 accessible parking (you can get in and out easily), this place is super convenient. You are just next door to all what Southbank has to offer and a short walk distance (or scooter ride) to the CDB (pedestrian bridge over the river) Staff are young and efficient, smiling all day. ACCOR Motto btw. Last but no least, you stay far from the noisy students/backpackers nightlife + trains / highway of downtown. After all, even if you are in Bris-Vegas, you came here for a rest!

We stayed here the night before leaving on a cruise that was leaving from the International Cruise Terminal. The main reason we chose this hotel was its close proximity to Roma Street Station as we caught the train from the airport. While it is close to the train station it is located at the top of a reasonable hill and it took a bit of effort to navigate the way to the top, apart from the effort. Several escalators/lifts and then a steep path with no real directions on which way to go. I thought I would be able to see the hotel to give me an idea which way but had to resort to Google Maps to find the way. Unfortunately we were on an early flight into Brisbane so as it was 09:30AM I was not expecting our room to be ready but just needed to store our bags so we good do some exploring. As expected, our room was not ready but the guy behind the counter checked me in, stored our bags and advised that the hotel was busy and our room would not be ready until about 02:00PM. No worries we will be back. We arrived back at 01:00PM and our room was still not ready and waited in the foyer till 02:00PM as previously discussed. Reception gave me our keys and we proceeded to our room on Level 1, or so I thought……..room card would not let me use the lift. Back to reception to have the card re-coded. On entry to our room, it was reasonably spacious and looked clean and reasonably comfortable. Décor a bit dated, but functional. We had a rather large balcony but we could not use it as there was no furniture so the balcony was wasted. Bathroom was small but functional, bit dated but appeared clean. It was only after we used the toilet several times that we noticed water on the floor. We ignored it for quite a while as we thought we had spilt water on the floor but it was not till the next morning that I realised it was coming from under the toilet. I reported it to reception on checkout. As we were tired from our early start we chose to order room service. While we knew how much it was going to cost it was very expensive. Two hamburgers and chips over $70. A bit steep, but as we were so tired we paid so we did not have to go out. The hamburgers were good by the way, but still way too expensive. Overall, this hotel was OK, but the room was supposed to be a superior room. OK. I would hate to be in a Standard Room………..as the room was pretty average for a Superior. After reading some of the other reviews the price we paid was fair and the location is good, just not when you have to push two big suitcases that we were taking on a cruise up the hill from the station. PS. It cost us $73 in the taxi to get to the Cruise Terminal.

Location is really good, about 7 mins by car to reach the city centre (30 mins by bus). Rooms are comfortable and modernly decorated. The cafe on the ground floor has a good selection of good quality food.

Un Sofitel más viejo que otros que yo me quedo como miembro de Accor Platinum pero mis experiencias han sido muy positivas cuando me quedo aquí. Todos obtuvieron un puntaje perfecto, y me avergüenza no obtener un puntaje perfecto (* ¯︶¯ *) La vista de la habitación en el check-in no fue muy satisfactoria, y el hotel tomó la iniciativa de contactar al día siguiente y pidió cambiar a la dirección de la vista. Otros son muy buenos, y el catering en el primer piso también es muy bueno. El café es suave y la pizza se asa junto a una chimenea. Es tan delicioso ... simplemente no entiendo una cosa ~ por qué la piscina es tan lamentable ...

El desayuno es un excelente servicio y la vista de las habitaciones de piso alto es muy agradable. El hotel no tenía ruido, pero el tráfico fuera delante del hotel se movió a la velocidad de una esquina, lo que significa que para las caídas de taxis/recoger coches, pregunte por el rincón de George St y Ann St. Es un paseo de 100 m y ahorrará mucho tiempo.
