Rats in restaurant On arrival the hotel is really beautiful - a small oasis tucked away with gorgeous colonial style. The reception staff were really lovely and made us feel welcome. The room was really nice - but there were a few things we noticed (which we let slide at the start) - massive dirty lipstick mark on one of our water glasses, filthy lampshades above the bathroom sinks, bed linen that didn’t feel particularly fresh and the robes as well had a slight greyish colour rather than bright white which they were meant to be. These were all minor things at the start which we didn’t even mention to each other but did notice. We then had our first night at the cocktail bar where our drink was served by the lovely barman (very polite and smily) - as we were drinking we saw a huge rat run across the terrace - we decided it was an island and maybe this is normal (although we really weren’t happy about it). We then were dining within the restaurant and again a huge rat was running towards the table. For us, this is not ok. We asked to move tables as we saw a rat and the waiters barely acknowledged it - didn’t offer any apology and then proceeded to avoid our table for the rest of the night. We informed the manager the next day who assured us he was aware and the rat had been caught, and to “give it a chance”. We weren’t offered so much as a complimentary drink. After dining in the restaurant again the second night and again seeing a rat - for us it was time to check out. Not only is it unpleasant seeing rodents running around while eating but I would say it’s a hygiene issue and makes me question the cleanliness of the kitchen and the safety of the food. The only concession we were offered was to not pay for the remaining nights that we would not be staying for. Really disappointing. On hindsight some things we would add about the whole experience: - Not a 5 star in terms of food, service or cleanliness - Staff really hit and miss - some very friendly some really rude and unhelpful - Rooms didn’t feel clean - Food was average - nothing felt fresh including breakfast - Quite stingey with water - water not replaced within our room (had to ask for it) We are now staying at a different hotel and haven’t seen one rat, so don’t think this is “just an island thing” as the manager stated. The service and food are also worlds apart which has really solidified that our review of 20 degres sud as completely justified - not a 5 star experience whatsoever.

This resort is an absolute gem! The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The views were breathtaking—every glance out the window felt like a postcard come to life. Its location was ideal, offering both convenience and a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle. The serene, quiet atmosphere made it the perfect place to unwind and recharge. Highly recommend for anyone seeking a relaxing getaway!

Fabulous hotel. We went AI which was a good call considering there were no bars or restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. We stayed in a Beach Bliss junior suite which was large, well equipped with a super comfortable bed. The drinks and food included in the AI package were great with some international spirits. Cocktails were amongst the best we have had. The food options were also top notch with lots of choice and variety. All restaurants including the main buffet were good with our favourite speciality restaurants being Jade (Asian) and Waves (Seafood). The spa was ok and we didn’t try the gym or water sports. The free snorkelling trip, Mauritian cooking class and BBQ night at Waves were all great fun. Special thanks to Geetanjalee for doing a fantastic job keeping our room tidy, Akhilesh for his cocktail making skills and Stephanie for doing a great job hosting the cooking class. All in all a fabulous stay and the only feedback I would give for improvement would be to speed up the check-in process and add some variety to the evening entertainment.

It’s a little adventurous to get here (only possible with own car or their van on request). But the views from their restaurant and rooms are extremely stunning!!!! The service is a bit slow and if there is something or you need something you have to call the reception with your own phone. Also, wifi connectivity can vary depending on the weather up there. Be aware, no kids allowed and the terrain is difficult for people who have difficulty with walking. At the end of the day you come here for the paradise view, which is just mesmerizing!

No obstante, creo que el personal de limpieza necesita tomar un poco más de cuidado al limpiar. Nos encontramos allí durante 6 noches y 3 de las noches que tuvimos que llamar a la custodia porque no teníamos toallas, o no recibimos papel higiénico, o no recibimos nuestros vestidos de baño... y luego la custodia tomó al menos 20-30minutes para traer los artículos. La otra cosa era que pusieron un solo cubo en un cubo doble - así que cuando estás dormido hay muchas veces cuando sólo tienes una hoja y no hay cubo. Quizás eso cambia. El pequeño y elegante hotel de excelente calidad, tiene un sentido de diseño, el brillante jaula con lago azul brillante ante los ojos, hay un bar en el techo, pero no se abre la noche, el paisaje del día es bueno, la piscina de aquí parece que nadan nadie, todos son tan guapos La ventana de la habitación de paisaje es el mar. Puede dormir con las olas de la noche. Los artículos de lavar la habitación son naturales y son ecológicos. Aunque no es tan amplio como el hotel de cinco estrellas, también es una experiencia diferente

Compare to Lux Belle Mare and Lux Grand Baie, Lux le morne is a disappointment in terms of service level. The structure of the buildings look nostalgic but it’s well maintained. The level of hygiene seems to be high. I love the beach which has the best on the island. But it is a shame they couldn’t utilise this. If you imagine the other two lux hotels I mentioned above are for Waitrose and harrods sippers then this le morne hotel is for Tesco shoppers. They made mistakes in billing and quality of drinks is mediocre. I can do better at home.

El RIU Turquoise fue, sin duda, una de las mejores estancias que he tenido. Las habitaciones eran increíbles: amplias, modernas y siempre impecables. Se notaba el esmero con el que se mantenía todo a un nivel altísimo. La playa es preciosa, con agua cristalina y un ambiente muy relajado, y la zona de la piscina es igual de impresionante: mucho espacio, un ambiente genial y perfecta para desconectar. El spa también fue un punto fuerte, un lugar ideal para relajarse por completo. En cuanto a la comida, superó todas mis expectativas. La variedad de restaurantes ofrecía muchísimas opciones, y todo estaba buenísimo. El restaurante de carnes, en particular, destacó: sin duda, una de las mejores comidas del viaje. Pero lo que realmente hizo que la estancia fuera tan especial fue el personal. Todos, desde recepción hasta los equipos de los restaurantes, fueron muy amables, simpáticos y acogedores. El nivel de hospitalidad fue excepcional e hizo que toda la experiencia fuera muy agradable y sin complicaciones. En resumen, un hotel increíble con excelentes instalaciones, comida fantástica y un servicio realmente excepcional. Volvería sin dudarlo.

El hotel de Mauritius elige a los ojos y el hotel de vacaciones de la península Bay Beach Spa, que supera directamente las expectativas! El precio de la vacación es muy alto y es muy barato en línea. ¡La vacación es muy cómoda ～ El entorno del hotel es muy bueno. Puedes ver una playa superbe abierto para abrir la ventana.
